Re: Grizzly's Room

It's old way thinking.  The big companies can't figure out how to make sense of the internet so they try and lock everything down.

I don't think they'd notice... they have this strange selective perception where they only believe in what's on their nose and everything else is non-existent...

*knocks at the door*

*clears throat*

(I figure it wouldn't be best to just barge in, what with a gun on the hip and all.)

Whoa.  What's this?  Politeness?  Manners?

We've stepped into the Twilight Zone.  :)

Hiya Bigehauser.

Yes. Of course manners.  I can't let loose with the grab-assery immediately, what with you being...a bear?!  Yes, a bear, and all.

*Steps through the threshold of the door of Grizzly's room, still trying to comprehend a talking, hind led walking bear*

Eherm.  I am afraid I am just leaving the Twilight Zone actually. I should be away from this Asian desert wasteland fairly soon.  Though, I will be back soon enough, I am sure of it. Therein lies the life of a soldier.

Re: Grizzly's Room

soldiers are awesome, sad about the not really being allowed to choose where to fight, and who, but the fact that they fight for their country, is just so awesome, but that's just my personal opinion, some don't share it, which I find weird... but oh well.. we can't have everything

Okay, so I made some notes on ways to start a conversation.  I wrote them down on these little cards...

*Spills cards all over the thread*

...drat...

OW!  MY EYE!  PAPERCUT!!!!

Still, you can't go wrong with 3X5 index cards.   I'm thinking about breaking them out as I prepare to give a wedding toast saturday.

Re: Grizzly's Room

Ah yes, the wedding speech.  I've done those.

I seem to be better at giving funeral speeches, as sad as that sounds.

Re: Grizzly's Room

*smiles*  Well, not to be mean, but at least in a funeral speech there's one less person to offend?

I just hope that my brother in law and his new wife don't hate me for it.

One way to find out, eh?

(luckily I live out of state)

Re: Grizzly's Room

Been doing the same.  I had a long weekend and had to catch up on what I missed the rest of the week.

I volunteered for a Kids Triathlon this morning.  It was kind of neat to watch.  I didn't do much other than make sure that none of the kids skidded off the course at this one turn, but it was fun to watch.

Re: Grizzly's Room

I'm currently in Alaska, helping out with my brother in law's wedding.  I'm exhausted but too wired to sleep, and the lighted sky at midnight isn't helping.  I'll probably crash soon, though.   My brother in law's place only has cheap internet, so it's slower than death.

Re: Grizzly's Room

so... if you ever get to play a game against death, to save your life..

You'd play on that computer and somehting really internet-y, like WoW...

And see how many more hours you gain from just, playing

Re: Grizzly's Room

Or I'll just do it on a dail up connection, so Death gets so frustrated he lets me live just so he can get on with the rest of his existance.

Re: Grizzly's Room

Except that in order to BE Death, he/she would have to be:
1) Quadrillions upon quadrillions of entities
2) Omnipotent + omnipotent
3) near-1 or near2 and able to stop/drastically slow time

Erhm, scratch that I meant "omniscient + omnipotent".

But yeah. Dial up. LOL.

*grins*  I figured that's what you mean, but 'being omnipotent twice' is pretty good, too.

Re: Grizzly's Room

hmm, how does one roleplay death?

Would there be many versions of deaths in the same game, how would one roleplay that?

Does deaths have weaknesses?

Re: Grizzly's Room

If the prophet Terry Pratchett has taught us anything, Death is pretty laid back, but is a hard working regular guy.

His weakness is being distracted by random bits of drama and human interest.
