Re: OOC Posts II
Thank you everyone!
I think that about does it for this adventure.
This adventure was originally was started back in 1999 with the team suggested in the book, SPECIALTY: COMMAND UC-1C. Their story ended after contact with the Soviets and I was unable to continue the adventure. The next team to pick it up was the Group's alternate command team, SPECIALTY: PSYCHOLOGICAL Qp-11. They facilitated the peace between the Rebels and Soviets, establishing a city and then regional government in the face of opposition by dissident local elements supported by Slavers, Bikers, and renegade Gypsy Truckers. We covered the second part of the adventure, focusing on Reload Tango.
The original rule set we used was GURPS 3rd ed. At that point the "Soviets" in the adventure were already an anachronism of sorts. When 4th edition TMP came around it revised the history to update the wardate to circa 2013, long after the end of the Cold War, this meant the original adventure was set in an alternative timeline. In the course of running this adventure I made friends with the author, Joe Benedetto Jr., and became a volunteer staff member for Timeline under Chris Garland. As well, a former US Navy submariner, Tom Rux, helped me redesign the Kilo Alpha base so the nuclear weapons were stored securely and a full-sized SSBN could get in and out of a narrow underwater channel not much wider than its beam.
All-in-all, a successful resolution. All weapons recovered, Krell dead or captures, hostages freed, even a small coastal vessel captured with no loss. Operations in and around Puget Sound will be definitely enhanced come springtime.
I may well playtest an upcoming version of TMP that uses Chaosium's BRP rules. As well, I recently asked Timeline if they need playtesters for the upcoming 5th edition.
