Don't worry, I already rolled for her. Both targets went down. No one else seems to be after her. The other group passed by on the trail.

Jenna can make an AWA check.

Also (and this is a reminder for everyone) when holding actions, it helps to indicate what you're going to do if something happens. Lke shoot, flee, dive for cover. Otherwise "hold" is really just "wait".

I may have miss posted on the main thread.  I posted speaking to the folks watching over the vehicles but I just remembered I'm supposed to be with the group talking to the locals.  I'll delete that post.

Re: Die Rolls

13:41, Today: Andy Maxwell Flasch rolled 49 using 1d100 ((49)).

Figure his % to hit is ~ 140% or so.  Using a called shot to the head, but using all but 1 action to aim along with the scope.

He will use all 4 levels of success to move the hit location to the head.  I do not have a hit location for an animal so I thought I'd let you wing that one.

11:35, Today: James (Jimmy) Gerrold MacGuire rolled 7 using 1d100 with rolls of 7.  Negotiate, goal 98, just in case!

11:34, Today: James (Jimmy) Gerrold MacGuire rolled 15 using 1d100 with rolls of 15.  Persuade check, for supplies goal is 88.

Annoyingly, the rolls are very very low.  Weird dice system makes these not good rolls, even though he handily made his skill, apparently it was easy or a poor effort.  So 1 and 2 degrees success.  Pretty annoying.

Re: Die Rolls

In reply to James (Jimmy) Gerrold MacGuire (msg # 175):

The dice system works well in theory but seems to confound our expectation because while you do need to beat a Target number (TN) based on your skill (plus or minus any modifiers) the lowers result is not as good as a higher result that doesn't exceed your TN. So higher skill levels do confer an advantage not only in terms of pass-fail but Degree of Success/Failure (Dos/DoF).

I would say Harnmaster pulls this off best using a percentile system that also uses a skill-based TN. But if you roll under your skill you achieve at least a "Marginal Success" (MS). If your roll is also a multiple of 5 (so ends in a 0 or 5) whereby it becomes a Critical Success (CS). Same pattern for Marginal Failure (MF) and Critical Failure (CF). This allows for a 20% chance of CS or CF but no real DoS.

Re: Die Rolls

In reply to James (Jimmy) Gerrold MacGuire (msg # 178):

My apologies, I should have added that this roll only applies to those without any Pilot Watercraft skill. Those that have this skill are assumed to be relatively acclimated to  water travel and will not get seasick easily.

11:56, Today: Project Director, on behalf of Jenna 'Tallfeather' Bartram, rolled 80 using 1d100 with rolls of 80.

11:48, Today: Tina Marie Lassiter rolled 85 using 1d100 with rolls of 85.  CON Check.

11:48, Today: Robert 'Bobby' Michael Kastelein rolled 39 using 1d100 with rolls of 39.  CON Check +20.

Of the PCs and NPCs: Tim, Elliot, Captain Kim and Leaf are effectively immune.

Thanks!

Tony
