How good is the cover by therroad in? Good enough to flank the trail and look for anyone trying to follow us in and jump us?

16:45, Today: Project Director, on behalf of James (Jimmy) Gerrold MacGuire, rolled 8 using 1d100 with rolls of 8.  Harmonica.

16:44, Today: Project Director, on behalf of Alice Maura McCloud, rolled 36 using 1d100 with rolls of 36.  Singing (Perform) check.

Pretty decent singing from Alice. Jimmy is passable but would do better if he knew the tune.

In reply to Project Director (msg # 88):

22:40, Today: Daniel Black Feather rolled 27 using 1d100 with rolls of 27.  Observe.
22:43, Today: Project Director, on behalf of Tina Marie Lassiter, rolled 4 using 1d100 with rolls of 4.  Observation.

Note: Dylan and Jimmy didn't make Stealth checks, they are not being especially quiet.

Performing a visual check of the building is an Observe check. Actually Searching the building, that is, getting in there and digging around for anything useful or interesting is actually a Scrounge check. However, Dylan did not say that's what he wanted so I'm going to move things along.

Those on watch could make Observation checks. If Lina wants to keep hidden while dismounted she will need to make a Stealth check as well.

In reply to Dylan Richard Sinclar (msg # 91):

"Lina" is Mahalina's nickname.

I figured Jimmy might want to use his Scrounging skill! Jimmy will need to break out of formation and spend time to Scrounge. If he wants to do this it would be best to ask permission because he's in the middle of a sweep at the moment.

In reply to Dylan Richard Sinclar (msg # 95):

Jimmy isn't a SNEAKY scout, I think you guys missed that.

He was a Cav Scout.. as in.. drive in hard and fast in a dune buggy.. then get the hell out.. stealth optional at best.

Edit:   OK, ok... he was pretty good at deer hunting, so he is kinda sneaky.

You know what they say in the 1st Cav: you know you're getting close to the enemy when you pass your burning scout vehicles.

Apparently, I'm oblivious right now.  I hope nothing nasty is out there, or at least the scouts find it first.

Usually you'd make a stealth check if you wanted your character to be stealthy! But you don't need to roll when it's not important, as is the case now.

Re: Die Rolls

In reply to James (Jimmy) Gerrold MacGuire (msg # 105):

My apologies for not being clearer. Everyone travelling "unbuttoned" or head-out (Tim, Filat, Daryl) may make an Observation check at -20% to your skill. Everyone inside a vehicle (Jimmy, Lena, Bobby, Tina) may make an Observation check at -40%. Drivers are presumably too busy driving to scan their surroundings but they can if they want to make a driving check as well (driving will take 1 Action, if drivers wish to try multi-tasking).

Remember to specify your arcs when observing! Lena is presumably spotting to the front although she does have a right side window. Alice is driving but can spot to the front or left side and if she also spots, she will need to make a driving check to avoid plowing into the tow truck. Let's say Jimmy is on the right, Bobby on the left side of the Ranger.

Note the .tac blocs. Lena should have one added, explaining what she does or else she loses her unspent Actions.

In reply to Project Director (msg # 106):

Tactical question.  From Jenna's knowledge of ambush tactics, where are the ambushers likely to be?  You made the comment that only Jenna is in the kill zone, so does that mean she would believe that the raiders are around her, waiting for the convoy to pass and hit the road block? That they guys she spotted in the trees are meant to prevent escape?
