Re: my first adventure 5
(I'll take it if anyone wants to join me, I know most have done this once or twice allready.)

As Tulpit dangled from the ceiling he knew that his cover was blown. He thought his plan of sneaking through the attack was almost foolproof., but sometimes he was admittedly more foolish than most.

It started off as a routine snatch. All he needed was the map that Blackbreath of the Drunken Monkey had made himself from his adventuring days. It was of a particular dungeon that supposedly had a particular treasure. Although, it didn't seem to Tulpit at this moment that he was particularly suited to be able to handle that particular dungeon, even with the map.

He originally went in there just for a drink after a long day of picking pockets to pay for it. After sitting at the bar and striking up a conversation with the two kindly folks next to him, as well as Blackbreath himself, the topic turned to listening to Blackbreath's stories of the good ol' days. This is when Blackbreath let on about the map.

Being the optimistic opportunist he is, Tulpit excused himself to the little halflings room. Snuck up into the ceiling and made his way to what he thought was Blackbreaths office. The next second was a blur as he fell through the ceiling and was now dangling from the chandelier above where he was previously sitting. Blackbreath, his two new bar friends, and the rest of the tavern staring at him.

Re: my first adventure 5
Morien sat in the corner booth, enjoying his drink, as someone crashed through the ceiling of one of his favorite hangouts.

He stood, frosted mug in his left hand, plated gauntlet of his right hand on the hilt of his sword.

Re: my first adventure 5
Quickly observing the room and noticing the menace overflowing from several of the other patrons, Tulpit regains his control and drops himself from the chandelier back into his barseat and starts to gulp down the remainder of his drink.

"Ahhhhh! That was delicious my good man!" He places some money on the counter, the exact amount of the drink, no tip, and no where near the damages. He then hops up from his seat and begins to walk to the door as if nothing happened.

Re: my first adventure 5
Aden had walked into the Monkey just as the little halfling was hanging from the chandelier.  He exclaimed "Oi! Bear! You hanging little kids from the ceilings again?" And then the little child swung down, finished a drink in an empty seat at the bar below him, and made to leave, offering compliments in a voice that sounded nothing like a child.  He was headed for the exit, right towards Aden.  Bear gave him a nod.

Re: my first adventure 5
Seeing the young man who just came in, Tulpit realized that he didn't have a clear path to the door, if this man was as friendly with the bar as he seemed. He knew this stranger with the discomforting yet captivating eyes would cause him trouble. Tulpit may have been foolish, but he wasn't stupid.

He also saw how he others in the bar staed at him with malice, some looked rather tough, especially the man at yhe door and the one in the corner whos brew looked especially cold.

Side stepping Aden, "Excuse me, good sir! I must go purchase wood to mend this bars ceiling." Speaking loud enough that most would hear. He was hoping this would work.

Re: my first adventure 5
Morien sat his drink down at the table and began to walk toward the hole in the ceiling, looking up before walking toward the halfling. It would be then that it would become apparent that it wasn't just his drink that was cold. Everything he touched, everywhere he stepped frosted over for as long as he touched it. It melted almost instantly in the heat once he was no longer in contact but each step he made was accompanied by the mild crackling of ice.

As he drew closer, even the air itself began to drop in temperature. While the air was by no means freezing, the change in temperature was noticeable. Those at the bar shivered slightly as he passed. "So why exactly were you crawling around in the ceiling? You don't look like an exterminator."

Re: my first adventure 5
Aden smiled, good-natured and oblivious to the halfling's ruse.  "Alright then, good sir!  See you back here in a bit!"  He stepped aside, prepared to let the haffer escape into the streets.  And then Morien approached with his queries, and Bear's nod made Aden start to think something wasn't what it seemed.  The oracle wasn't the most socially aware guy, and he'd already had a couple of rounds with some rowdy oracles of battle from the temple.

He was starting to put the pieces together when Bear, also known as Toriendar Blackbreath, shouted, "Bero, you're a worthless idiot!"  He was already reaching for the axe above the bar, and next thing anyone knew, Korimeer, namesake mascot of the bar, was jumping up and down on the beams above, screaming and pulling all kinds of random objects out of his pocket, throwing them down at the hooded halfling.  Aden leaned back, just avoiding a glass ball that came really close to cracking his own skull.

Re: my first adventure 5
Tulpit calmly sidestepped and dodged the monkey's barrage. While doing so he began to assess the ever graver situation. He was almost able to pass the cool headed guy with the heated eyes, while on the other hand the hot headed guy with the cold touch was now looming over and asking questions. The owner of the joint now approaching carrying his axe, and a monkey slinging objects that he was sure to run out of soon. God knows Tulpit did not want to find out what the monkey would sling after he ran out.

As all eyes were on him and this motley crew of problem solvers Tulpit saw his only saving grace taking advantage of the distraction he had caused. As the entire bar was watching Tulpit's every move, the other two adventures that were at the bar with him when he found out about the map, showed themselves to not exactly be lawful citizens either. Out of the corner of his eye, while dodging the flying knick-knacks Tulpit caught the two men sneaking into the back of the establishment, surely after what Tulpit had originally wanted himself.

Tulpit knew that in his world of lies sometimes honesty was the best lie of all. Looking to the frosty gent who stood before him, "To be fair and truthful my good sir, I was well on my way to break into this very establishments office to steal from the owner a prized map that he had made. Now it seems that where I am currently failing, there are two more succeeding." As he said this the two men were on their way out the back door with the map and several other trinkets of the owner.

Alarmed that the two men were indeed gone from the bar top, Blackbreath rushed back to the office to see the room empty of his treasures and no one to be found. Rushing back into the main bar Tulpit spoke before he had a chance. Raising his hands in a forfeiting gesture, "I know your thoughts good sir and I assure you I was in no partnership with those two! In fact I would like to help retrieve your items as forgiveness for my previous trespasses." Turning to the other two gentlemen, "We must move with haste, I was speaking with them earlier and know where they go. I cannot get them alone, and I know that Mr. Blackbreath is not keen on letting me out of his sight at this moment. Be his eyes and his arms and help me redeem myself. What say you?"

Morien had gotten close now. There was more than mild anger in his voice. "I say that if you're lying to me, I'll tie you to the belly of a small horse."

Re: my first adventure 5
Insulted by the demeaning term for Halflings Tulpits eyes scowled breifly before realizing there were more pressing matters at hand. "Right then Humes," sneared the halfling. "They are heading to the Eastern Coast, we move with haste and they won't be out of our sight for long."

Furiously running his short legs the halfling took off after the two men. As the three were in chase Tulpit explained what little he knew from the conversation he had with the two men earlier. "They are traveling partners, the tall one seemed to specialize in close quarter combat while the short one bragged about his spells. I know not their true strength as to me they seemed inebriated when I sat with them at the bar. Take advantage of this. As soon as we see them do not hesitate or ask questions, it will only give the spell caster time."

Within a few minutes Tulpit stopped running and drew his bow, his shot landed at the feet of two men who had a large sack over the tall ones shoulder. They stood about twenty feet away. "That is them"

Re: my first adventure 5
Morien took a moment to verify that it was indeed them before striding out into open view, Greatsword drawn. His entire body seemed to be wreathed in shadow as he struck with a single blurred strike that seemed to come from two directions at once. He struck the tall man with both shadow slashes, leaving a deep, frozen gash in his victim... deep enough to outright kill a weaker foe.

OOC: dunno how many hp these guys are meant to have, but I like to roll when it's not my story, so it was 12 damage.

ooc: Feel free to adlib this as much as you want. As a player I like suprises, and I feel this is as much about Tulpit as it is about Morien and Aden. So if you would like take some creative license and have fun wih it.

As soon as the arrow hit the shorter of the two began preparing a spell. he seemed to not care as the taller one was struck by Morien.

As for the taller one, after feeling the stings from Moriens blades he lunged at Morien attempting to tackle him.

Aden dashed forward at impressive speed, drawing a javelin smoothly from the long quiver on his back.  Fifteen feet from his foes, with a clear shot, he twisted, coming to a dead stop and hurling his weapon.  Its sharp point drove forward with transferred momentum, piercing deep into the spell-casters shoulder.  Amazingly enough, the man maintained his concentration, his spell nearly complete as he continued with arcane chanting and somatic gestures.

Re: my first adventure 5
These two seemed especially persistent. Something was not right with them.

While Aden and Morien made their moves Tulpit took advantage of their efforts and placed himself next to the spellcaster. As Tulpit jumps onto the spellcasters back a light seems to emmit from his companion as the taller of the two bursts forth with a new savage energy as he launches himself at Morien. With a quick stab of his dagger to the right spot of the more than distracted spellcaster, one of the two is now down.

Re: my first adventure 5
Morien raised his plated left arm to bat away the sword but it gashed into his arm where the armor was weakest. He shifted stances and seemed to pulse with a mild crimson aura as he wreathed his right hand in darkness. He grabbed his target by the face.

There was a muffled scream as a portion of his victim's aura seemed to be ripped away. When he let go, the tall man's face was bruised and frosted over with blood seeping from the skin in places.

Morien's arm seemed to be healing as the crimson energy settled in around the wound before fading.

Re: my first adventure 5
After feeling Morien's frost bite at his face the last standing of the two theives stumbled trying to make sense of his surroundings. He clutched tightly to the loot and then fell over hitting his head hard on the ground. Both men laid there unconscious.

After handing the bag Blackbreath's belongings to Morien, Tulpit picked through the pockets of the two men and found a modest amount of coin. "Well done gentlemen! Let's return to the Drunken Monkey."

As the three of them traveled back Tulpit introduced himself to them as a ninja for hire and that if they ever needed someone to get into a tight spot without being seen, than he was the guy. Upon returning to the Drunken Monkey they returned the possessions to Blackbreath and Tulpit offered what he picked from their pockets to pay for the damages to the ceiling he had caused. It was barely enough but it would cover the costs.
