Re: Festival Day 2
"Upgrading your chain shirt would take a day. We do not do full value trade ins. It doesn't make sense for us. Even if your item sells quickly we still need to have it appraised and inspected before we put it up for sale. And if it doesn't sell quickly It's taking up space and maintenance work otherwise it'll slowly degrade into an unsellable condition. We can sell you a lightly enchanted chain shirt, a lightly enchanted buckler for 2405. leaving you with 1095 left in store credit. if you buy a belt of tumbling that would leave you with 295 in store credit. Your associates have offered 300 and 500 gold of their store credit towards group healing items. Which is more then enough for a wand of cure light wounds or a minor non rechargeable heal stick. Tell you what how about we do this for a deal. The left over store credit will be a down payment on a lesser rechargeable heal stick. If you guys promote it well and sales increase due to the notoriety of your team and how much you use it I will give you a  five percent commission counting towards the remaining balance."

Dustil gave a shrug of his shoulders. "I'm fine with it." He glanced at Morien. "Popsicle?"

Morien cast a sideways glance at Dustil. Now he was doing it too. However, Morien just sighed. He was too tired to get mad. "Whatever, I don't care."

Re: Festival Day 2
"Alright then. Pleasure doing business with you. IF you wait just a moment your Items will be given to you shortly." After a few more minutes Aden's chain shirt, buckler and the heal stick are brought out. His chain shirt and buckler both have the logo and "Martin & Kern" in bold black letters emblazoned on them. The heal stick just has the Logo on it in several places. After another minute of making sure everything is in order the lot of you leave the store and are standing in the streets.

Dustil thanked the shopkeep and then nodded at his companions. "I need t'swing by a tavern real quick, but then we can go see 'bout the token an' then the Gauntlet, yeah? Once we get more money, I'll need t'spend a bit an' get my new item filled." He grinned widely at his companions.

"I 'spose a quick tavern trip would be alright. But I'm ready to put more distance between us and the competition by getting some tokens!"

Aden is ready for the group to use their shiny magic compass.

Morien follows suit. "I suppose the first place we should check is House Delmar?"

OOC: I think, for the moment, we should do whatever the DM thinks will be most fun for the newcomers.

"Well, the compass will point us to the closest token.  If House Delmar has one, it will lead us there eventually.  Otherwise, he can wait to barter for his bratty son's over-priced sword."

Re: Festival Day 2
Once outside of the Drunken Monkey, Dustil pulled out the magical compass and held it out in his hand to see what would happen. "Okay. Let's start headin' towards the Gauntlet an' see what we get along the way maybe?"

Re: Festival Day 2
when dustil flips up the top of the silver compass it emits a faint glow. A gold needle starts to spin around. wildly at first and then it starts to slow. It bounces back and forth and doesn't quite seem to settle down. Spread all around the glass face of the compass are little pin pricks of light; some are brighter than others.

Alright so in order to properly use the compass you need to make some checks. use magic device will help but isn't needed. Knowledge geography can help, as can survival, profession sailor. If you feel something else makes sense and would help feel free to make it and say why. If I agree it'll help. If I don't it won't and if i think it's crazy it'll be a minus.

Dustil's eyes widened as he looked at the compass. After a moment, he frowned and handed it to Aden. "Whaddya make o'this? It's spinnin' all around. No instructions that I see either."

Aden looks it over.  He had some practice with magic devices over the years, much to his aunt and her arcane lover's frustration.

Aden plays with the compass, twisting a dial, twisting the core of the compass within it's own case and adjusting a how a steel needle, right next to the golden one, faces. He is unable to tell what the difference in the intensity of the little pin pricks of light mean, but aden finally manages to get the gold needle to stop bouncing and point in a single direction. It seems to align with one of the small points of light and it seems to be pointing towards the Arena.

"Might I take a look? I might be able to help a bit with that." Yanyeeku murmured as he examined  the device closely. Drawing on his magical knowledge as well as his experience with using magical  devices, he was able to point out a few ways to fine tune the compass.

23:12, Today: Yanyeeku rolled 19 using 1d20+12. Use Magic Device.

Dustil was less than helpful as he took a swig from his flask and peered at the compass. "Are you sure yer holdin' it the right way? Maybe y'got it upside down?"

08:15, Today: Dustil Kraye rolled 4 using 1d20+3. Untrained Survival check.

Re: Festival Day 2
As you walk the gold needle bounces and shakes, but it still continues to point towards the arena. That is until you reach the heart of Arcadia. Here the needle spins once. Yanyeeku manages to help get it realigned back to pointing towards the arena, but every so often the needle bounces to the left. pointing towards one of the many entrances to the canals.

Re: Festival Day 2
"The canals are really nice, actually.  They have magic beacons regularly placed, which purify the water and air.  But the arena is a marvel in itself, if you ask me."

"I'm guessing you're not originally from Arcadia? Me either."
It seemed an obvious question, considering Drazgar's race.  Aden didn't figure many drow were born above ground.
