Re: OOC part 2: the revenge...
true, but there are plenty of ways for a clever player to disable traps he knows about that don't require a skill check.

Re: OOC part 2: the revenge...
ok guys will update stuff tommorrow. My cousin got married over the weekend and it basically turned into a three day long booze-fest. Just finished recovering the the lack of sleep and super hangover.

Mean while Please tell me your marching order.

Are we looking at each square being 5ft or again the 4 squares being 5ft?

Okay so does anyone have those skills and a decent chance of making those rolls? I have Climbing, of course, but the other skills I don't have.

I can, but my bonus is fairly average (+8). I won't be able to pull anyone across though. But I can use Dance to get across myself through an indirect path.

just a reminder if you spend a hero point you can get a +8 bonus on a roll before you make it. that is if you feel like spending a hero point.

Unless anyone has better than a +8 on any of the skills mentioned by Mr. Main, then you're our harness expert Yanyeeku. :) We can attempt to aid another to bolster that +8.

And when I say "pull across" we'll each be pulled by a rope held by those on the far side, while harnessed to the main rope that is attached to the poles.  So it shouldn't take much strength really. Someone else can go first, with a backup rope tied to them that we all hold, in case the harness fails. Once on the other side, they tie the backup rope to the harness, as well as the "pulling rope" which they'll losely hold. we then pull the harness with both additional ropes back to us, and then repeat.

We have plenty of rope to help each other across and have a backup rope, or two, tied to us in case the harness fails.

But we should try to test the harness and the poles for strength capacity.  And those with heavy gear should put everything in their backpack, which can be harnessed to the rope and pulled across.

Re: OOC part 2: the revenge...
Well I managed to make the harnesses. Given my strength mod is -1 though, I'm serious about Yanyeeku not pulling people across. :P Dustil probably can.

Drazgar, Dustil wants to cross last, so it's your turn to make some climb checks to cross the chasm.

Unnecessary, I say! :)  just tie a backpack to the harness, and let us pull it across.

Re: OOC part 2: the revenge...
since this observation is entirely an OOC one but taking 20 on a perception check takes quite a bit of time (a good estimate is roughly 2 minutes to scan the environment or 2 hours to overturn everything with a search type check).

This means that Yanyeeku has probably spent 4ish minutes looking around in between his dance-jumps.

Taking 20 on rolls is only abusable if you have all the time in the world to accomplish something.
