Martin & Kern Outfitters.
It is Slow going for Aden and Yanyeeku. The streets are crowded filled with fans, merchants, shoppers, performers and the occasional guard. The duo are occasionally stopped as people recognize Aden and either congratulate him or Advice him that the games aren't over yet and he shouldn't underestimate some other team or some member of another team. More often then not the member named is Red.

Eventually Aden and Yanyeeku manage to enter Martin & Kerns. Only to find it full. It looks like all the sales people are currently busy. But the store is open enough for you to browse a bit on your own while you wait.

OOC: please make Perception checks

Re: Martin & Kern Outfitters.
You guys quickly find the listings of available scrolls. It seems there are a couple ledgers near the main counter. There are a few people currently looking through the three ledgers. You recognize a couple of them as members from other teams. there is a lone human looking through one of the ledgers, a gnome and a human looking through the second, and the last one is being browsed by a half-elf you don't recognize. Probably just your ordinary customer. OOC: wisdom or intelligence checks to remember their names. since there aren't many gnomes in the games the DC to remember his name will be much lower than the others.

The half-elf seems to be done and looks to be about to put down the ledger. There are other people milling about so if you want to get that ledger first you need to act quickly.

Yanyeeku discarded his recognition for the moment. They needed that scroll. He made his way through the crowd, his slim build making it easier for him  to bypass the patrons, muttering the occasional apology as he approached the ledger to browse it after the half elf was done.

Aden moved briskly towards the ledgers, simultaneously trying to appear non-chalant.  Not wanting to draw attention, he would use his acrobatic abilities to get through the crowd only if necessary.

21:04, Today: Aden Bero rolled 17 using 1d20+16. only if necessary, acrobatics.

Yanyeeku and Aden make a bee-line for the ledger and manage to grab it just as the half-elf puts it down. "What's the rush?" you hear a voice call out from next to you. you look to your left and see the gnome Gnosh from team Thryka.

"Hey there Gnosh. The rush is that there's a party waiting to celebrate our two day's worth of stunning victories." Aden strikes an obnoxiously proud Heisman pose, biting his bottom lip and slowly nodding his head, self-assured of Team Arcadia's awesomeness. He holds the pose long enough to conclude, "The sooner we finish some chores, the sooner I can have young impressionable female fans sitting on each knee."

Aden looks through the ledger with Yanyeeku, looking for the scroll of Comprehend languages. However, once he finds it, he also makes sure to keep looking, to keep Gnosh guessing as to what he's after.

"Heh. Sounds like fun, but if I were you I'd save some for the games."

"Let him ruin himself with debauchery. He probably won't have many more reasons or opportunity to celebrate." Aden hears a familiar voice call out from behind him. It's Adrian. you'd never forget that voice. He's behind you and close.

"you could buy that whole ledger and it won't help you win."

"Creepy pyscho? Even for one as ignorant and childish as you that's a bit harsh. Especially considering you just declared your intention to defile innocent and impressionable young women and lead them astray from the paths of decency. Is that any way for a holy man and prophet to act? Then again it's just like a fire to greedily consume everything until it foolishly burns itself out isn't it?"

"I've never claimed to be a holy man or a prophet.  Plus you're hardly one to be giving lectures on paths of decency.  You darks got yourselves banned from the temple for whatever twisted ends you were up to."

"And don't worry about my fires burning out.  I've got plenty.  Hopefully the games present the opportunity to show you."

Re: Martin & Kern Outfitters.
"Not a prophet? You are an Oracle of Flame are you not? You are supposed to explore the mysteries of fire to garner understanding about people, the gods and their place in all of creation and then share and spread that enlightenment. I don't know what's more surprising that an acolyte doesn't know his own calling or that someone who lacks such basic understanding would presume to know why we 'darks' left.

Yes there was a bit of a falling out, but there were no twisted ends. If there were, surely the temple would have brought such practices to light and assisted the town guard in an investigation which would have led to our arrests and trials. Since clearly that did not happen, either you are mistaken, the temple hid the truths and thus is an accomplish in these supposed acts or there is simply no justice in the world. I wonder which of those is most likely?"

After a minute or so of looking Yanyeeku finds the tab for the comprehend languages spell.

"Then why the fallout?" Aden kept an eye on the others around him.  He didn't trust Adrian or anyone the man associated with. He also wanted to make sure there were witnesses if the others started something.

Re: Martin & Kern Outfitters.
"Master Azaran and Master Origen are two of the nicest, most giving and dedicated people I've ever met. If there was a falling out, I'd bet it was because Hrovaka was up to no good.  But I'll ask for myself.  Maybe there's two sides to the story." Aden knew a thing or two about having an undeserved bad reputation.  He came from a small fishing town, and his nature and it's baggage had given the townsfolk plenty to whisper about.  He was used to being blamed for things that were either out of his control, or worse had nothing to do with him.

Still, Mvashti had been an asshole on numerous occasions, and Aden wasn't quite buying the nice guy act.  He looked at Yanyeeku to see if the bard had made any headway with the ledgers.  The sooner they got out of here, the better.

The two of you walk up the counter and hand the tab over to a clerk. He opens up a draw underneath the counter and starts looking through it. "25 gold please." the clerk comments.

"I'm sorry sir we don't do exchanges like that for scrolls and certain other single use magic items. And you should know that we can't show any sort of favoritism when it comes to the games. We can give you 10 gold worth of store credit, but that is the most I can do."

Re: Martin & Kern Outfitters.
The man behind the counter writes out a receipt for the two scrolls. Asks Aden to sign it and then gives him a copy. Afterwards he takes the 5 gp and hands aden the scroll of comprehend languages. "We keep records of each sale and exchange, but we do not share that information. Unless those records are specifically requested by the local authorities and we feel they have good reason to see them. An example would be recognizable items used in a crime."

Re: Martin & Kern Outfitters.
"Good man." Aden shakes the clerks hand, and nods towards Yanyeeku for them to head out.

Once outside in the crowd, Aden says just loudly enough, "Let's head to the Monkey to see who's there. And let's try not to say anything about anything else. I want to scan us with detect magic first. I don't trust Adrian, or anyone on the other teams for that matter, but especially not him."

Aden seemed to be acting a little paranoid.  Apparently he thought that the other teams might have some way of tracking them.  The kinda stuff out of mystery novels.
