Re: OOC: sixth form

Dusk Rat, al of you have the Hunting skill - Swift Fox just has Huntmastery, that gives her a +3 bonus on such rolls, but everybody can hunt for food by paying 1 WP and beating a DC (4 if it's only one meal, 6 if it's for the entire group). And yes, you can use any of your other abilities to help with the roll... if you can suggest an appropriate way for it to work.

Re: OOC: sixth form

Ah, so I can't hunt without WP?
The DC isn't that difficult, no.  Unless the Dice Roller is in a sadistic mood again, hehe.

Re: OOC: sixth form

Well, the spending WP for Hunting is a balancing factor. You see, if rolling for food didn't cost any WP, you would never attempt the group roll - you would just roll the single meal rolls, because they're easeir to make. Additionally, I can't really restrict the number of times you can hunt in a day, because that's not realistic... but then, you would be able to re-roll forever, until you beat the DC, making the entire purpose of the roll pointless. True, I might just solve all these problems with GM arbitrating, but I think a more standardized system is more fair for everybody involved. Thus, Hunting costs WP, and I can't make an exception... I'm sorry.

Yep. You lot have no idea the amount of crazy that can be contained in a single fox, believe me! ;D

Dusk Rat, I would allow you to have Brook help Swift Fox, which means transferring your +1 bonus to her, at a 2 WP cost... not sure if it'd be worth it, considered that Swift already has a much higher inherent bonus from her own skills, but since bonus accrue, I'll let it to the two of you to decide.

Sounds like he has too much WP to pump in to Huntmastery, Nexus and Battle magoc stunts. Give some to the rest of us!

Re: OOC: sixth form

Just checking, do I need multiple hunting attempts to find so many meals for the whole team if they're not searching for their own?
As in extra WP cost and rolls needed? :)

Re: OOC: sixth form

If you're looking for full-group meals, rather than only one for you, then the only difference is an increase of the DC by 2. You make just one roll at a DC 2 higher, and you find enough food for the whole team.

Of course, the balancing factor is that, if you fail, you won't be allowed to try again like you would for a normal hunting roll - the normal hunting roll failing means you failed an attempt, the "whole group" failing means the area doesn't contain enough food for you to properly feed off.

You're in a woodland area, so DC is 4 for normal hunting, 6 for group hunting. Not that hard, is it? ^_^

And Sun Snake, I was under the impression that I just very recently filled all of your stats back to the maximum? What more could you want? ;P

WP is the currency of creativity and roleplaying - you can't have too much!

Edit: Also, is it too sad for me to wish we had 20,000 more posts right now?

Re: OOC: sixth form

Urgh, I'd rather not spend more WP - it comes back so slowly and we know we're in a dangerous area, or getting close to one. I'd rather not spend any if I have to...

Re: OOC: sixth form

:) Then I suggest you leave it up to Swift - she has pretty good modifiers, it'd not be very hard for her to pull off the hunt.

As for the falcon and finding things lunch-shaped, the problem is that he doesn't know prey from predator here! Also, he's afraid of the eagles. They'd eat him. :)

Re: OOC: sixth form

Yep, but Swift is very protective of her new friend.  And she isn't afraid of eagles.  (In fact if she can shoot one down with her bow, would it count as a meal?  hehe) :)

It would be plenty good to eat - just a bit disrespectful of the mascto animal of Sommerlund... Shark would approve. ;)

Just my luck.  Rolled a 1.
Can I use an FP to reroll?  (Got an 8 for the second one.  Just wanted to check it was allowed first).

Re: OOC: sixth form

Well, they live near the mountains, and you're going in that direction; it wasn't too relevant, and I think even an eagle would have trouble spotting a small mouse under the cover of trees.

And yes, Swift Fox, you can spend the FP to reroll - which means you just hunted your lunch and dinner. Well done! ^_^

Because you have, of course. You're walking along the path that was meant for the full group; it's only natural that you're in over your head!

Either Sabre has found a nest of Kraan or something, or he's simply attacked Sun Fox for the Sommerswerd and is realising he's not invincible :)

Re: OOC: sixth form

Probably, you were only supposed to scout the way to see if it was an alternative route. If Sun Fox has pushed you onwards, then that's just the GM trying to get you to kill yourself off I suppose!

Like if you had scouted the Agarashi route to the end on your own I guess.

Still, look on the bright side, if you succeed, you'll probably level up again right away by the sounds of it. And if you can get Sun Fox killed, you'll get the Sommerswerd! :D
