Also, the Rain Feather stuff is touching. Unless she's then putting 'she thought sarcastically as she plotted their deaths' in private lines to the GM after all her statements.

Not that anyone would put private lines to the GM explaining the character's thought processes ever. That just seems like it's covering up for dishonest and evil intent...

In reply to Sun Snake (msg # 46):

That doesn't sound suspicious at all, Sun Snake! And beside, who would ever do it? ^_^

Also, I wasn't aware it was Shark birthday today, but if it is, I join in wishing her to be well. :)

Yeah, no-one would ever do that.  Not even if their character had a tendency to hide her true thoughts so much that they needed explaining.  Can't imagine anyone would have a character who would hide things from her friends like that though...

*whistles innocently and quickly changes the subject*

Oh yeah, happy birthday Shark!  If indeed it is your birthday :)

Re: OOC: sixth form

=O

Was shocked then remembered it probably popped up on the Aon site. . .

Aye, I think I'm officially "late 20's" now. /sad face.

Also I found a white hair in the shower this morning. It was. . . ironic?

Thanks! :D

All these characters so honest and forward in sharing their secrets and helping their fellows... I'm proud of you all! ;D

And don't worry Shark, late '20 still sounds pretty young to me! ^_^

Late 20s isn't so bad.  I'm in the mid 30s now, and my life feels like it's on permanent fast-forward...  Days feel much shorter than I remember them being for some reason :(

You have many more days to compare them to! And I'll bet your days aren't as varied as they used to be when much younger.

Re: OOC: sixth form

I always theorized it was 'cause each day is a smaller portion of your life thus far, so they seem shorter. It makes sense in my head. . .

But yours sounds legit to, Beo!

Went to a Gaelic Storm concert. Those folks know how to throw a concert! Now I'm listening to all manner of bands I used to love. . . . ah, its been a good 27 years.

Well, couldn't it be a bit of both? ^_^

Also, I'm not sure if I should feel intimidated right now... it seems like I'm still the little kid of this group, being younger than everybody else. Should I worry? ;)

Re: OOC: sixth form

Hehe I think the same thing as you, Shark, about time being a smaller proportion of your life as you get older. So when you're four, a year is a whole quarter of your life, which is frigging massive. When you're eighty-four, that's a teeny-tiny little fragment, comparatively speaking. So the older you get, the faster stuff such as Christmas seems to come around, whereas when you're younger it seems to take forever. Bleh, I'm gonna be thirty in a couple of years. I'm getting older but I'm trying not to grow up too much - I don't plan on forgetting what it was like to be a kid and so become all boring and serious all the time. I don't mind arsing about a bit, giggling ridiculously, and generally having childish fun playing games and stuff :D.

Nah, don't worry, we're all quite friendly.

Just stay off my lawn!  *shakes cane at you*  hehe ;)

I definitely miss being young though.  back in the days when I still had hopes and dreams that seemed possible...

Maybe that's why my characters are always young.  I'm yearning to be that way again :)
(Besides I first discovered the LW and Fighting Fantasy books when I was young, so I'm feeling all nostalgic for my younger adventuring days.  Oh the stories I could tell of my days exploring far-off lands, discovering great treasures and slaying evil monsters...)  :)

Re: OOC: sixth form

Thanks for letting me know, Sabre Fox! ^_^

As for when I saterted to read Lone Wolf, Swift, the first book I ever read through was a borrowed version of Dawn of the Dragons... it took me some time to hunt down the earlier numbers, and only when I got to P. Aon did I was able to play through it all. So I guess in that sense, I'm a much younger fan that most others here! ;P

I find it entertaining, and one of the best books in the GM series, but after having read them all, my favourite is actually #12; I explained that I first read #18 to clarify at which point in time I first met the Lone Wolf gamebooks as a whole. :)

What about you all? What is your favourite Lone Wolf gamebook?

Posh! My mum went back and finished graduate school in her 40s, and now, in her 50s, she's getting a degree in some sort of translational medicine/scientists talk to medical people thing.

'tis never to late to go for your dreams :)

It's one of the reasons why the Legacy crew is effectively travelling that way. The choice of movement in book 18 felt so natural that I felt it justice to repeat such an experience :)

You then just need to read them all to give us your opinion, Dusk Rat! ^_^

And Snake, I mostly agree with you - 12 is my overall favourite, but after it, the 5 is probably the best one, followed by the 1 & 2 (which I see as a single story), 7, 10 and 18.

I liked them all! =D Favorites though. . . I dunno, which ever the last one I did was pretty great (I think it was 12? or 10? I don't remember. That was like 2 years ago now! Yikes!)

When I have a life outside of grant writing again I should read the rest. . .

when ever that happens.

Re: OOC: sixth form

According to the "Game Rules" thread, the game first post was made the 16 of november, so yeah, we're one month from this game first anniversary. :)

Shark, the last you played through if I remember right was 9, the one where Lone Wolf fights Zahakan Khima - that is, unless you started reading the others on your own.

The book 9 is a good one, I think, but one thing that keeps it from being as good is that, in the Book, beating Khima in combat has, like, a 5% or so possibility of happen - is among the top three hardest fights in the series, and having a combat so difficult robs the game of a little of its charm. :)
