"Awww don't be like that!" Fox said. "I'm only even talking to you cause I like you! We can learn stuff from each other if you want"

Fox extended his hand

"Paw shake on it? It's what us humans do you see. Tell you what, how bout we both go Huntong together sometime to show each other our form?"

Ahh, "Fall" as in the American word for "Autumn"...okay that makes more sense when you put it like that, lol.

Dusk Rat gives Sabre Fox a slightly unfriendly look.

"You're confusing him." she says with a tone of distaste, crouching down so that she's level with Brook and laying a reassuring hand on his back as she turns her attention to him, momentarily ignoring Sabre Fox.

Dusk Rat's ministrations quickly pacified Brook, as the dog seemed to relax. Tentatively, he moved his snout near Sabre Fox's hand, sniffing and licking it for a moment before going back at Dusk Rat's side, settling down in a standard guard position.

"Hey, it's not often I get more out of a dog than chasing balls or cats, so my dog speak might be a bit off" fox smirked to Dusk

Standing back up, Fox replaced his weapon and gave the Kai salute to Brook.

"Look after Dusk now you hear? She's all good to people who know her. And make sure to show me how good you are when we are next in combat!"

It was at that point he addressed Dusk.

"So how's you? See I knew you would prefer like me to stay out of thier talk over there"

Dusk Rat rises from her position beside Brook and regards Sabre Fox from beneath her hood.

"There often seems to be rather too much talking," she says, "especially when it seems we've a need to hurry and stop undesirable things from happening."

Re: Thread VI: Fiendish chains

Sun Snake briefly filled in everyone, to make sure those such as Frost Ferret (thoguh he did not know the man's name yet) and Dusk rat could hear, as well as filling in Sabre Fox on the name fall lobster and revealing a Helghast in the Heigh Priest's staff, with a plan to betray the acolytes to gain the Deathstaff.

"We have enough numbers now that one group can head off the acolytes while the other continues for the Deathstaff. I do not think the Drakkar should be a party to the confrontation with the hybrid Kai. And Alyne needs to be on the attempt on the Deathstaff. So Sabre, perhaps you and Rain Feather should go along with Alyne to ensure she has the morale backing for such a confrontation. She goes against a father figure, after all. I will confront Fall Lobster, for his plans all seek to get me. And with Swift Fox and Silver Raven with me, I think one way or another we can resolve what has happened to our fallen brother."

Sun Snake looked back to where the Drakkar were, and to the other two Kai. "The Kraan and the fact we can delay those acolytes and hybrid now buy us some time, but probably not much longer. I suppose we need to decide how our plan of attack quickly, and get back to our 'allies' before they suspect anything."

Yay, two seconds to post a post! Also, Dusk Rat, don't mock the walls of text. Sun Snake has beaten at leats one NPC - or maybe just the Gm - in to submission throug hthe weight of words and avoided backstabbage/stabbage. Words win!

"Just one problem with that" Fox said. "I can't really leave the Drakkar for this, and it's gonna take a Naar of a reason to get the commander to release me from his sight for an extended period of time"

"I mean you and the Drakkar go after the Deathstaff along with the others, even if you cannot lend her support visibly, I am sure Alyne will feel better just for having you there. And besides, if a distraction is needed you can lead the Drakkar to free the other Drakkar to pull focus. In fact, perhaps we should pretend I wish the Drakkar to go delay the acolytes, and you should be the one vocal in saying I should go deal with my mistake, while you go after the Deathstaff and your men?"

Re: Thread VI: Fiendish chains

Swift glanced back at the others of her team and then looked up at Sun Snake.
"Do you want me to come with you to meet them?  Or would you rather keep us concealed from these Drakkarim for now?"

She waved her hand in Frost Ferret's direction.
"Also, I don't know if you've met Frost Ferret?  We encountered him in Toran when he escaped from bounty hunters, probably hired by Valador or Haxadrom.  He has some knowledge of magic which has proven very useful on our journey."

OOC: Sorry Frost.  I think you blend into the background a little too well sometimes, hehe ;)

"Well anything that keeps the pretense up" Fox said. "It would garner more trust in the Captains eyes no less"

Fox then regarded Silver Raven before speaking.

"Raven...... We picked up some equipment along the way. Rather than let the dark forces take it. I can feel they are magical, but cannot identify them. Perhaps you could help?"

I'm referring to the emerald ring and snake amulet on my character sheet. Would be a waste not to ask !

Re: Thread VI: Fiendish chains

Silver Raven actually smiled at Sabre Fox's comment and said, both looking and sounding quite happy, perhaps even eager at the idea:

"That'd be my pleasure."

Then, he reverted to his more collected attitude, and turned a thoughtful gaze on Sun Snake.

"Are you sure splitting the group is a good idea, Sun Snake? I can see the rationale for it, don't get me wrong, but I think keeping us together would offer a different set of advantages, especially if we're going to be attacking what I've gathered is the heart of Naar worshippers' activity in this area. Also, if you two come back on your own, wouldn't these Drakkar you're tricked into helping be suspicious that this excursion produced no results?"

If you're seriously splitting up already, so soon after having been reunited together, I really think it is my duty as the GM to ask if you're truly sure that's a good idea. Just making sure everybody's ok with doing it, that's all.

Fox quickly retrieved the amulet and ring to show Raven while he spoke

"He's right. I think the very least we could do is to go back to the Drakkar to show our results, and then split up. Let me be the one to suggest it, to show we don't want too many Kai overpowering the Drakkar number "

Ferret observed the conversation of his fellows and his apparent other fellows. He was too far away to hear much of what was said, but watched Silver Raven closely when Swift Fox spoke of having healed him in the dungeons of Argazad.

OOC: I'm really sorry, chaps, I don't have time to read all that at the moment. It looks as though much of the start of the conversation was spoken quietly anyway, which helps. If there's anything critical from the latter part that FF would definitely have heard that he didn't already know, could someone let me know? I've flicked through and seen a bunch of names, an OOC note saying that LW is dead (what!?) and Sabre Fox making a fuss of the dog :), but there's way too much to make sense of quickly.

Sun Snake shrugged to Silver Raven's question, the looked to Sabre Fox. "What do you think? Will the Drakkar's unease at too many Kai outway the problems of us splitting up?"

"I think it would rouse the Captains suspicions that this is a set up. I think the best we can do is bring everyone back, while I show distances for the situation claiming you set this up Snake and you knew they were Kai all along. That way, we can let the Captain make the decision as if he were in charge. At least that way he may feel at ease"

Re: Thread VI: Fiendish chains

"Sounds like a plan" replied Swift.
She turned to look at Dusk and Frost.
"Ok, now remember, when we're around the Drakkarim, we have to act as though Sabre Fox is a rogue Kai who's on their side."
She turned back to Sabre with a grin.
"Apologies in advance for anything I say to you later."

She paused a moment and took off her backpack again, detaching the orange and blue daggers from her belt and tucking them into the pack.
"Just in case" she muttered quietly.

"Oh, by the way.  Have any of you ever seen anything like this before?" she asked, pulling out the large obsidian crystal.
"I found it in the commander's tent at the camp we blew up.  At that time I was looking for anything magical that might prove or disprove Valador's involvement."

OOC: While we're getting items appraised... :)  I almost forgot I was still carrying that.  (Along with a huge stack of keys!)

Re: Thread VI: Fiendish chains

It was Silver Raven to answer the question before anybody else.

"That's a communication crystal, of the kind the Darklords, and now the Nadziranim, use to keep abreast of their agents on the field. I believe Guildmaster Banedon mentioned them being the initial inspiration for the idea of the Seeing Stones - although the way they work is likely very different, what with these crystals requiring a human sacrifice, the use of blood and giving Naar access to the user's soul each time they're used."

He seemed to consider the item for a long moment, then shrugged and added, speaking directly to Swift Fox:

"I don't think we can get any use out of that, Swift - unless you want to use it to make a disguise more solid?"

That said, he gestured for Sabre Fox to pass him the items he wanted to examinate while he waited for Sun Snake to lead them back toward the Drakkar soldiers...

Anybody who wants to comment has a day to do so, at the end of wich I'll move you back to the other thread. :)

Re: Thread VI: Fiendish chains

Sun Snake fished out a few round orbs to Silver Raven. "Haxadrom possessed these items, perhaps you can identify their use? Also, this last is a magical magnet. It allows you to feel the pull of powerful magical items - like the Deathstaff and Sommerswerd. However, there is a way to localise it to feel weaker pulls - which is how I found Sun Fox. Valador gave it to me, knowing there was a third use - one calls to another. Haxadrom possessed one, and used it to find me. Vyctar now has that one. If the colonel was too involved in his own concerns to realise the significance of me giving it to him, then all the better. As it stands, Vaador may also be pulled to Vyctar if he tries to track us - which would hopefully be unwise."

That's the iron globe, green marble and bronin & silver spheres Sun Snake is offering up.

Once all the dust has settled, Sun Snake will lead the group back.
