Re: OOC: seventh sense

Then it's a good thing you actually do have your Huntmastery bonus, isn't it, Swift Fox? ^_^

As for your question, yes, I'm afraid you'll need some. Here's the relevant passage:

Kai Disciplines:
Tracking:

-1 WP and roll to understand the layout of a maze

-4 WP to try and decipher obscure signs / unknown language, or find evidence in a work of art

Pathsmanship, Improvements:

Trail blazing

-3 WP to create a track / open a passage in any wild area where there seems to be none; this also include completely understanding the layout of a maze, included secret passages

Of course, that doesn't necessarily means you're out of options - I can see at least three ways you could easily bypass any traps around, or solve any of your perceived problems, included the lack of WP... but I'm not going to make any suggestions at this time, it's funnier this way! ^_^

Sun Snake, your 6 means you do trigger the trap, though; if you want, though, I'll let Divination warn you that you're about to do it, and thus stop before it happens. Once again, that's your decision to make - drawing the traps onto you might well help Swift in a certain way, but on the other hand, you'll then have to survive whichever traps decide to home on you.

Re: OOC: seventh sense

Not sure which one of us would be ahead here.
Sun Snake seemed to recover and set off in pursuit first.
Though Swift is probably the faster runner, being smaller and carrying a lighter weapon (and the fact that the Kai named her "Swift")...

Also the real life "swift fox" has been known to run at speeds of up to 30mph :)

Hmm, don't I need WP to get my Huntmastery bonus?

And I can only see one solution myself, but it would require Swift to stop and think clearly for a moment!

Re: OOC: seventh sense

The Huntmastery bonus requires no WP - it is a result of your trained body, so it's not something you need to focus on, you always have it active. :)

And if Sun Snake is stopping before he touches the Temple's dais anywya, does it really matters who reached it first? ^_^

If Frost Ferret can post and do something to block the High Priest or help us, does that mean the DC can be lowered and we can succeed after all?

If Frost Ferret thinks of it, he could likely let you bypass the traps entirely, but that depend on how creative he decides to get with his magic, and what he focuses on.

The High Priest is already inside the Temple though, so attacking him at this time is not possible.

Re: OOC: seventh sense

So Swift gets to take on the High Priest and his pet Hybrid by herself?  (O.o)
This could be fun...  Fatal, but fun! :)

Almost forgot, does Swift's ability to detect traps help her out here at all?

Not necessarily, just Snake would need to figure something out to keep moving confidently. Unless Sabre/Hornet do something, or Frost does.

Also, Swift Fox, you won't be alone: you'll supposedly have Water Hornet's help... and Sabre Fox's moral support, as well. ^_^

Swift is tough though.  She can withstand plans backfiring in her face :)
(Hence why I seem to run low on END a lot...)

Depending on whether I get sliced up by an angry Hybrid Kai, or trigger every single trap on the way to wherever the High Priest is going though ;)
Need to go threaten the Dice Roller some more...

Where are we all? Are Sun Snake and Swift Fox inside with the High Priest, Hornet, abomination and Sabre? Basically, I presume we can feel the sixth sense warning that Peacock is doing something bad outside but not directly interact?

You're outside, Sun Snake, so you can see everything I described, as can Frost Ferret and Dusk Rat (and Silver Raven and Sun Fox, of course).

Swift Fox, Sabre Fox and Water Hornet are inside, so they can't see Peacock, but they're in two different rooms, which means Hornet and Sabre can't see Swift, nor the opposite.

As an out of character reaction though, Shining Peacock is already proving to be scary in an unexpected direction. Who knew he'd come across as so fanatical about Kai? Though I suppose since he supports Kai, it has to be the very best side to be on, and everything else is inferior, right? :)

Re: OOC: seventh sense

I wonder what his attitude is towards fellow Kai who have "sinned"?
This could get even more interesting...

What do you think would take for Peacock to consider a fellow Kai a "sinner", though?

*rant starts here*
And rolled another 1 :-P Drats...!
*end of rant*

I'm not sure if Shining Peacock can be considered a traditionalist, but for some reason I think that's how he would judge other Kai regarding "sinners" and "saints". It will also be interesting to see what he does now: spares Ehmeris? (I doubt that); or kills her painfully with his psychic powers? (possibly); or kills her with a sword (or other mundane means)? (possible but less probable - as far as my guess goes)

Killing who-knows-how-many innocent people?  Not to mention looting their stuff!

As for Ehmeris, I think she might welcome being killed by the time he's finished with her!
(O.o)
Might feed her to the dragon!

Re: OOC: seventh sense

That she might, yeah. And he might well decide not to, as well... it all depends on how things play out, really. :)

Still, I guess it's safe to say that, with Peacock, you should always keep in mind his arc words first and foremost: "Appearance are everything" is a complicated motto to live by and understand, but if you manage to get what Peacock means by it, he - and his actions - might be easier to understand. Or maybe not, that's up for you to judge! ^_^

Also, Sun Snake, I missed your question last time I posted, but while I don't feel like answering that myself, I will give you the answer Peacock would give, if such a question was posed to him:

"I am a Kai, fighting for the triumph of light is what I swore to do. Why else would have I sworn myself to such a goal, if I did not believed it to be the best and greatest possible one I could achieve with the work of my life?"

I hope that's food for some thoughts! :D
