Lol now imagine what would happen ifi our characters were arguing like that over the loot. Omg that would be so funny :D.

And it could be worse: there could be Sabre Fox around to clamor for his own share as well! ^_^

Speaking of which... surprising lack of comment about the new developments from our infiltration team - or, really, even any post to progress their own storyline. Does anybody knows if there's any particular reason for that?

Well at the moment I'm waiting on Hornets move to see if there us any way I could assist, but it's doubtful :/

As for comments well Foxy isn't there so can't really comment!

OOC wise is another matter :) when did Peacock become able to walk on air or manipulate that many arrows? Lol . Good for us I suppose. Then again you all make him out to be evil :/

Re: OOC: seventh sense

As an infiltration team, we're moving silently and unseen. ;) Just kidding, sorry for the delay - I was away for the weekend; was only able to log from my phone once, but left the main reading when I got to my computer.

And just when I'm away, massive things happen. :)

For a moment there I really hoped Nyxator somehow came back to life ^_^ And as Sabre said: should we be happy or worried about Peacock's display of his powers? Others have indicated he might not be such of a good guy. Of course, Hornet has little knowledge on anything that has been going on during his absence, but his relationship with Peacock is...interesting. :) We'll see where this goes.

BTW, great work on delaying the High Priest and Hurlon...eventually pissing them off. ^_^ And has been Hurlon's short sword claimed by anyone? If not, could you keep it for Hornet, please, when you deal with the bishop? Thank you. :) (Maybe Frost will want it, though. But then again - Hurlon does have two of those on him right now, doesn't he?)

I will hopefully be able to sneak in a post at lunchtime.

Sabre, I'm leaning towards tackling the abomination (haven't done the math yet, but it should provide a better chance to succeed). If I fail, though, do you have any other trick up your sleeve to get of the possible sticky situation? ;)

Bah, surely poeple are more complex than good and evil...

If by 'evil' you mean 'will we have to fight him next', then the answer is thankfully...umm... I don't know... :( Maybe not?

Re: OOC: seventh sense

You're right, Snake. I just hope we don't have to fight Peacock. Not because he's "good" (or just shares the same scale of moral values - after all, maybe it's our PCs who is the evil)...but because the Cener return and we can make them all fight each other (again). :-D

Re: OOC: seventh sense

Well Hurlon seems to have five swords on him (at least the ones that were visible when Swift sized him up earlier).  Almost a bigger collection of elaborate enchanted sharp pointy things than Swift herself has, so she's slightly impressed by that.

As for what they all do, Swift can figure that out.
Or you could probably ask Silver Raven, who, since his rescue, seems to have been recruited as the team's resident "magic loot" expert.  (Or at least the one everyone dumps their stuff on going: "Can you tell me what this does?") :)  hehe.

Swift isn't claiming any of the swords (yet!)  At least not until she gets a chance to examine them closer.
Daggers are more her style :)  And toxic stuff.  If you have any toxic stuff, she'll probably trade for it.  Especially Mustow or Calacena, those ones are fun to figure out potentially-chaotic uses for! :)

Heh, that's what I call a creative use of Mustow potions: trading them with Swift for looted weapons! ^_^

Indeed, that's an u8seful use for it. :)

Also, Swift Fox, it's four short swords, not five... which, of course, still leaves two each for Hornet and Frost, if you feel so inclined. Just pointing out things for clarity, that's all.

Well, if there's any magic loot which makes Sneaky Bastard Tactics any easier (Divination, Animal Control, manipulating objects/elements, general making-stuff-happen-from-a-distance-without-getting-in-close-or-turning-people-into-a-splat-mark-on-the-floor), I'm interested, if Swifty hasn't already claimed it all ;).

Re: OOC: seventh sense

Ah ok, must have miscounted.  So much has happened in my RL recently it feels like a lifetime ago since we entered this cavern, and my memory of things that happened earlier in the game is very fuzzy.  So everyone should feel free to point out any odd inconsistencies in my IC posts...
My Inner Editor will thank you profusely, just before flipping out in a rage and shouting at me to fix it! :)  hehe.

As for sneakiness-enhancing items, my strategy with Swift's development has been heavily dependent on her character evolution.  On her current path, I'm trying to find ways to strengthen her weakest aspects (such as defensive skills and extra tricks for head-on fighting).
I think she's strong enough in the area of stealth kills already, but she suffers a distinct lack of options in non-stealthy fighting, being limited mostly to mindblasting and physical attacks with daggers.  Also due to over-using her disciplines to compensate for her weaknesses, she seems to burn through WP quicker than even some magic users, so anything that can boost her WP will be quickly grabbed as well :)
In short, sneaky items are yours.  Assuming some sneaky stealthy Sun Snake doesn't sneakily snaffle stuff sooner! ;)

Actually, thinking it over, I'm wondering if we'll actually get to loot those items at all.  They do seem quite powerful.
Means either the High Priest has some sort of self-destruct mechanism that will act like a last-resort attack that tries to take us all down with him and destroys his items in the process...
Or else the next boss fight we enter into will be against something so Earth-shakingly powerful that we'll need to be tooled-up with a whole arsenal of powerful magic gear to have even a minuscule hope of survival against it...
Both possibilities are somewhat worrying... (O.o)

Shinign Peacock, Vyctar, Valador, Sanjoz, whoever else is in the Cener, whoever is one of the real big bads behind the scene, the Deathlord's minions/Deathlord himself.

There's no shortage of big bads we still need to deal with. The High Priest was a distraction on the way :(

Bloodthirsty?  Swift?
She's managed to not brutally murder anyone since she arrived at the Maakengorge, so she's definitely making progress.
Got to allow her one brutal murder at least though, and this guy clearly has it coming to him! ;)

No no no! We spare his life now, then force Alyne to give the order to have her father figure murdered in front of her and Sun Snake gets to lop his head off.

Because we're the good guys, dammit! We get to do sneaky worse bloodthirsty stuff.

Ahh ok, I'd forgotten about that actually.  Hmm, wonder if that would be enough to make Swift show some mercy...

How quickly can Sun Snake grab her and hold her back from attacking? :)

Alternatively, Silver Raven seems to know where her "Rage Mode Off" switch is, maybe you could ask him to intervene...

Re: OOC: seventh sense

So if you guys stole the mask off the High Priest, does that mean we get to know what his face looks like now? I have three guesses - first that he's someone we (or at least one of us) know, second is that his face is all horrible and mutated or has bits missing or otherwise falling apart or very icky to look at, third is that it's a really wimpy-looking face that wouldn't ordinarily inspire fear in anyone. Whatever the case, I'll add an additional side guess that he has mismatched eyes. Because...erm...I don't think anyone else has yet, lol.

And I was worried murdering the defenceless mutated Kai would be a moral problem...silly me. ^_^

Speaking of High Priest('s face): maybe it's actually a woman? o.O

BTW, Swift, I really liked this bit: "I almost wish I could see how they welcome you when we send you to join them!" ;)

Re: OOC: seventh sense

That was a nice bit of dialogue, yes. ^_^

As for your question, Hornet, you could cross a small bit of room by settling down your cloack, as you did, and then walk off, but you can't do it for long distances - the moment you raise the cloak from the glyphs, they'll activate, and if there's anything left for them to ensnare in the area (like you) they will.

Thus, you can get closen enough to the statue to get a better view of it, but not close enough to touch it; up to you if that's something you would do.

Also, Sun Snake, it would only have took this one turn, not two turns, for you to throw the mask... but, of course, with a roll of 1, you would not have succeeded. And if Swift Fox has no objections, adding the gang up bonus to you rather than her is fine by me.

As for the reason the High Priest is wearing the mask... I'll probably explain it, eventually. For right now, you'll just have to keep guessing. :)

Well, surely Sun Snake and Swifty can see the High Priest's face, given that they're currently attempting to kick his arse in close-quarters combat ;).

I don't mind :)
She's usually a bit of a tactical fighter anyway, despite being a loner normally.  And during those fights against the Hybrid and the Helghast in the Darklands, she seemed to be relaxing a little into the role of fighting alongside Frost effectively :)
So she would likely adapt her attacks to work with Sun Snake here.

Glad you liked her dialogue.  I love giving her creepy lines! ;)

Also, Sun Snake just reminded me of something I missed before that might be somewhat disturbing, but totally appropriate to Swift's character perhaps...
I wonder whether or not I should have her react to that?

Well, hopefully any stabbing and creepy dialogue which occurs over the next fw posts will result in the High Priest having his arse handed to him on a plate so that we've at least managed to thwart one of the game's biggest NPC wielders of the Wall of Tetx ;).

Re: OOC: seventh sense

I too was wondering about the High Priest's face, but ddin't have time this mornign to ask! I wonder if he will be normal, undead, someone we know, unassuming...I'm actually going to vote for ancient looking up otherwise unassuming, or undead.

Or Valador :D

Or Wol-Dumar!

really, who knows, it could be anything...including nothing, if you see what I mean.

And Water Hornet, of course you can't murder a defenseless mutated Kai...unless you rephrase the action as a moral action... like 'I had to save their soul by cutting off their weird hyena phase that looked funnily at me'

Regarding the two turn mask, sorry, I think I misspoke - I meant given the time to throw the mask, I assumed not only would I lose a round of damage then, but as a whole operation we'd lose two rounds of time with Ferret then figuring the mask out/activating it before anything happened with it. So probably more worthwhile just going for the fast damage and leaving Frost Ferret to use his disciplines, etc
