Re: OOC: seventh sense

Snake, now I can see why the High Priest eventually attacked you: he realized he stood no chance against you in the battle of arguments. ^_^

Well, I'm curious to see/read Shadow's next post. And Sabre's idea. And learn what's Shining Peacock's role in all of this. And see how that scarf will look on Swift...

Re: OOC: seventh sense

Sun Snake:
I too was wondering about the High Priest's face, but ddin't have time this mornign to ask! I wonder if he will be normal, undead, someone we know, unassuming...I'm actually going to vote for ancient looking up otherwise unassuming, or undead.

My initial mental image of him was something like Ricardo Montalban in "Wrath of Khan", but a bit more sinister.  And without the mind-controlling woodlouse things.  Or the stolen Federation Starship.  Or the planet-creating nuke-type thing...
He does have the "crew of fanatically loyal followers" figured out though :)

I still think Frost needs to run away while he can... ;)

Also, no-one can defeat Sun Snake in a Wall of Text battle!  It's his greatest weapon!
Can't wait to see him take on Shining Peacock in a Wall of Text battle! ;)

Re: OOC: seventh sense

Sining Peacock is a diplomat and his psychic gifts are greater than Sun Snakes. alo, he's far more arrogant than the High Priest and possibly even Valador. All in all, I can't see Sun Snake's Wall of Text ability being any match!

Ah, but winning a Wall of Text battle isn't just about writing a lot - it's also about turning the other side to your own point of view, isn't it? Or at least, proving that your argument was the stronger one. :)

So, the real question is: can Sun Snake make a better argument than Peacock can? The players is better than the GM, that much I think has been proven for now... on the other hand, I DID save my best ideas for Shining Peacock, so maybe I can edge out on this one?

We'll see, I guess! ^_^

Eh...? There's going to be a battle between Snake and Peacock? I thought Peacock came to save us and help the Good triumph. And then we'll all hold hands and dance (around dead bodies of the High Priest, bishops and all other Acolytes.)

A battle of talks, not true fighting. Peacock is gonna try to persuade you all that he's the best possible leader for the Order there could be - he's a politician first and foremost, after all.

And I have it in pretty good authority that among you all, Sun Snake at the very least, for a variety of reason, is not gonna subscrive to that view without making an attempt to argue against it at first.

I've been looking forward to that particular discussion for quite a while now.

And Peacock has as well, for different reasons - he knew it was going to happen from the very start of the game, one way or another. ^_^

His hatred, racism, need to be the leader of the order, and also duplicitous nature as an evil villain - those are some of the reasons. That's Sun Snake's reasons for disagreeing, not arguments against Peacock btw :p

Peacock is racist? Also, "evil villain"? And "hatred"? I think Sun Snake knows some stuff about Peacock that I don't, lol.

My joke was I was describing Sun Snake not Peacock ... Sun Snake (SS, anyone?) is all those things, hence won't vote for Peacock :D

Re: OOC: seventh sense

Shining Peacock hasn't really done much to earn Swift's loyalty.  Nowhere near as much as Lone Wolf and Moon Shadow anyway, so he may have a very hard time convincing her.  Could even be an impossible challenge.

He could probably try mind controlling her.  But I can guarantee that would not end well...
In fact it would end so not-well that I'm really hoping Peacock is smart enough to never try that! ;)

And he can't scare her with Nyxator either!  hehe.

Re: OOC: seventh sense

Well, presumably you haven't had much need to ever speak to Peacock specifically, or otherwise associate with him beyond generally seeing him around the Monastery and stuff, seeing how your main mentor/tutor/whatever-they-call-it is someone else ;).

I suppose if we hadn't spent the whole game constantly rushing off to do stuff instead of taking some time to sit around a campfire and have a cosy chat or something, we might've actually been able to learn some stuff about each other like our opinions on various other Kai and stuff. Well, those few of us who are actually sociable within their own species and like spending hours talking about any random thing they can think of as opposed to being all quiet and grumpy and only conversing if pushed ;).

Well you're safe enough.  Rumour is he's a bit of a ladies' man, hehe :)

But yeah, there are a few things about him that would put Swift off him.  She won't be directly hostile to him unless he provokes her in some way.
As respectful as someone would be to a Kai Master, but a little bit frosty with it, avoiding getting into deep conversations.  So probably won't be much in the way of Walls of Text from Swift while she's dealing with him.  More like one-word responses I'm afraid.  Unless he asks her for some kind of detailed report on her mission or something that requires a long answer.

From a player's point of view though, I'm curious to see what he's like.  Should be fun if he lives up to the reputation we've probably all learned about him! :)  hehe.

Do you have anything at all that gives WP Hornet? I'm not talking items now, even equipped gear or something lol. With just 1wp Fox could get us out of this easy as I'm running out of suggestions

Well if Sun Snake did, he'd probably be trying to use it right now, and therefore it would be smashed to bits with the 1 roll, so really it's best for everyone only Swift Fox does right now.

Re: OOC: seventh sense

I have that Tortwich salt but one needs a meal to use it. I also have a weapon that helps me restore WP / makes some disciplines cheaper WP-wise, but again it only applies to Hornet when I regain WP / use a discipline. :-|

But I think the situation is not so bad: Hornet can use your sword to smash the glyphs and in case it frees the abomination, I can use the ring to deal with her (it probably won't be that easy, but chances should be good).
Or is there a problem with Hornet borrowing Sabre's sword? (Not saying there is none, just asking.)

Hornet could also try to kill the abomination while she's trapped, arguing it's worth a try in case the magic is somehow tied to her presence. :)

I'll try to just throw in some possibly silly suggestions, but maybe they spark a good idea...:
- we could try to overwhelm the magic defences - if you could somehow pump more energy into the glyphs, they might 'short circuit' (hopefully without crushing/frying Sabre ^_^) - but with 1WP left it's perhaps not doable
- one of the herbs allows to fake death - you don't have it with you by accident, don't you? :) in any case, if we find out what the glyphs are reacting to, maybe we could 'fool' that mechanism
- maybe the ink with which the glyphs are painted could be erased? I just can't think of anything at hand that could help with that

I'd take a few EP hit and gain just a single WP to in jest the salt directly! After all you can eat salt raw despite how horrible it will taste :/

The salt only works when mixed with food, it's not optional. Consuming it raw would not have any effect at all, Sabre Fox.

And of course, Sun Snake, I'm not going to recharge the High Priest if you go non-lethal and inflict 0 damage - it'll just remain 0 damage. Although, I guess I could have him ridiculize you somewhat, if you want! ^_^

And Sun Snake jinxed me with a 1 roll too!

Oddly enough though, it was actually a very appropriately timed 1 roll...

This could be very interesting... :)

You had one job Swift! One job :p

I blame this new found conscience! Or did you add in the conscience as a consequence of the botch? You seemed to roll sanity first, so I'm assuming the conscience came first then the botch was a fun addition...
