Re: OOC: eighth wonder of the world
That's a generous thing you're doing, Swift Fox - why, I'd even call it a kind gesture... I'm just not sure it qualifies for the "disinterested" descriptor, though.
Everybody else, what do you say? Would Swift freeing Sabre Fox count as her showing kindness of heart or not? :)
As for your question on DC, Swift Fox, there are several options.
1 - You can use Huntmastery to navigate the room without touching any of the glyphs, "dancing" across them, as it goes. That would be a DC 12 Hunting check.
2 - You can use Tracking to "figure out the layout of a maze", which costs 1 WP and requires you to beat a DC 7 check. This would be a one-use only deal - you can use it to get to the abomination and then move out of the glyph covered area, but then you'd need to roll again if you wanted to cross some other "glyph-covered" distance.
3 - Pathsmanship also works if you want to try and decipher the glyphs' meaning and thus understanding the pattern the glyphs are bound by. This costs 4 WP to do, but the DC for the Tracking check is only 3. Also, assuming you beat this one, it would be a permanent solution - you'll keep knowing what glyphs not to step onto even after you're out of the area, and will even be able to teach others where not to step.
4 - Invisibility roll of DC 10 would allow you to copy the movements of the abomination, so that, as long as the half-kai is moving, you'd be able to keep yourself free of the chains by mimicking her; this is a DC 10 Camouflage check, but of course your Invisibility bonus to rolls higher than the Pathsmanship one.
Other options... you haven't the disciplines for them. :)
Feel free to pick your option and then add the proper roll to your last post, Swift Fox; that way, I'll be able to update things with the proper result.
