Sun Snake:
And we might get summer yet, there has definitely been periods of sun around the coldness and rain!

We can only hope!  It's sunny right now, but it's been veering wildly from one extreme to the other all day.

Also, if Sun Snake's Wall of Text powers aren't what's keeping this guy from attacking us, what is?
Did you psychically bribe him with promises of cookies?  :o

I'd tell you, but it might sound creepy :p

And yeah, given that Basingstoke is cool but it's still a 20 minute walk to really hit the green areas to walk home, this 'sunny/rainy' shifting of recent weeks is annoying after the full days of sun :( I get far enough away from work and home then it goes horrible just when I get to the nice areas!

This is Swift Fox's player you're talking to here.  You really don't wanna know what I'd find creepy! ;)

Wow!
*stares with an open mouth at the ASCII map in the IC thread*
Amazing job, Shadow!

A lot of things to think about.
And not to waste any time, my first question would be: how big are "o" buildings on the map? (I assume they're roughly circular, so what would be their diameter?)

Re: OOC: ninth symphony

Thank you for the compliments. :)

Te map is only roughly to scale, not precisely so - that's be very hard for me to do, considering the fortress is close to a perfect circle while my map is an octagon - but the circle, specifically, are tall and thin buildings, a bit pillar-like and by far the small in diameter, even if they're also the second tallest thing in the fortress (they edge out the watchtowers by a bit, but are still not as high as the citadel itself). They're also the only buildings ending in minarets - you saw them from outside the fortess walls, if recall the description.

For a precise measure, these small spires are about three meters of diameters or so (about nine ft), and you can assume a single character on the map to represent about the same dimension, that is being about 3 meters long - but do not consider it perfect, just an approximation.

I hope that helps?

Re: OOC: ninth symphony

Hmm, can Craftsmanship tell me anything about the structure of those "o" pillar things, or if they have any noticeable enchantments on them?
(Reminding me a bit of the undead wards in "Forests of Ruel", so wondering if these ones are meant to ward off folks like us...)

Also can we see any details of "1", "2b" and "3" from the door where we are now?
As well as the thing that looks like this:

You can if you chance a look outside  to study the buildings, which requires a camouflage roll with a DC of 3 to open the door and peeking without being discovered by any random passersby in the area. :)

Fluffed it with a zero, but Invisibility use should auto-succeed shouldn't it?
Definitely used up all my luck getting over that wall, hehe

Do you want to make a post where you roleplay that? The +6 bonus will indeed work (of course) to make you pass the check, so you're free to write that you did everything unnoticed - although you could have just made the post with your attempt, if you weren't sure you could apply the bonus.

You know, playing the game by acting in character and stuff like that. :)

Well, I was thinking of adding the IC action for it to that end-of-week brainstorming session you mentioned, but I can add it in now if you'd prefer :)

Just wanted to add to Hornet's comment about how cool the map is. I'm scared to know what half the things are - especailly those small o things. Unless they are barrels of explosives, then we might be able to have some fun :D

Well I've recovered from my seven day work stint. The map is quite impressive. Can we ask questions based on what we see to clarify however?

Re: OOC: ninth symphony

You can, but since you're inside the wall at thisbmoment, to check anything you will have to chance a look outside - which I already explained to Swift Fox requires you to roll for Camouflage to avoid detection.

Of course, once you do get that look outside, you're also free to use any other disciplines you have to get a better read of the place's layout, so there's that.

Yea seven days :/ it was a one off but I was pretty much a zombie afterwards lol

Anyway if camo is dc 3 I'm pretty sure Snake could do that without a roll! Worth investigating?

Ah forget that. Looks like Swift already did!

Re: OOC: ninth symphony

Well I don't know if the others could maybe gain more information than Swift could.  She was just trying to analyse the structures of the buildings that were visible from the doorway to gain a few hints about their purpose.
Different combinations of disciplines would probably get different results to put together :)

Wishing I hadn't wasted 5WP on that door earlier though.  My immediate thought was to break the defensive charm on it before Sabre cuts a hole in it, hehe :)

Re: OOC: ninth symphony

I was hoping if Swift Fox was acting as a stealthy doorstop then maybe others like Sabre Fox could look out from the shadows, but I guess we're trading off being harder to see than Swift Fox with being easier to hear to get in to a good position.

I think Sun Snake has done as much mental scanning as he could, let's noit forget we have a soldier that can confirm/deny many of our observations :) He might be more amenable than you'd think...

And I'm sure there was a chance we could have blown the door wide open no matter how careful we were without your efforts, Swift Fox.

Water Hornet might be able to confirm the WP restorers he possesses, I think they were meal based additives?

Looking at the map, it would probably be best to infiltrate towards the citadel on the left side of the map out of easily spotted sight. The Sommerswerd and Vyctar will most likely be close together in that area

Is it worth going to the Nadziranim dungeons for some creatures to release and cause chaos? Or free the prisoners as a small army to help?

Re: OOC: ninth symphony

I hope you're not asking me that? Becuse I can't answer - that's a decision you have to make on your own. I do would point out that you are almost without information over what could be found in the undergrounds labs and holding cells, so you might want to investigate a bit before committing to either choiche... that said, the decisions is yours in the end. I can't promise success nor threathen failure, but I do can guarantee that whateer you do will have consequences of some type, if that helps. :)

Also, this thread has gotten to its end, so i think it's time to open a new one! Shouldn't take long, and in the meantime, you can all reflect on this interesting suggestion.
