Re: GM Wanted

Serpent's Skull, I might run one. Let me see how my other game goes first and I would be willing to gm one serpent's skull game. I would love to play in a kingmaker campaign or second darkness.

Re: GM Wanted

I am actually participating in a Serpent's Skull game irl and it's pretty fun. My character actually died in the beginning of the second part of the AP. The AP is loads of fun. If I could get access to the books from my friend, I might be tempted to run it.

Re: GM Wanted

I would like to play a game via MapTool/Skype for "real-time" interaction. I live in the UK (GMT +0). Evenings or Sundays would be best for me. Thanks.

Re: GM Wanted

I hosted a maptools game for a friend that lived in a different city.  4 of us where local the other one was not.  While I think the idea of Maptools is GREAT!  The amount of prep time for the GM goes out the window.  Tokens, maps, layers, rule interactions, dice rolls.  It took me a good 2 weeks of constant tooling to get one small dungeon prepped for play.  If someone made adventures already built then it would be amazing!

Re: GM Wanted

I use MapTools just to draw my maps for games here on RPoL, but I've never used them interactively.  You do know that there are a ton more tokens available than the very few that come with the product, right?  There's never a need to create your own, as far as I'm concerned.

Is there a lot more setup needed beyond drawing the maps and having tokens ready for the PCs and NPCs?  I've never used the dice rolling stuff, but I can't imagine that it's any trickier than entering 3d6+3 and it giving a result.  Is it?

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by rules interactions -- I didn't think that even online you used it for any more than communicating, dice rolling, and moving the pieces around on the map.  What did I miss?

Re: GM Wanted

Maptools is so expansive that you can get into everything such as "fog of war" and how light from a light source interacts with walls and corners.

As far as the dice rolling goes, you can load a character token with a full character sheet and have the built in die roller roll dice for you when ever you click on the requested roll.  its a bunch of macros, but because Maptools is game generic they don't have anyone system loaded.

When using maptools the current map will have at least 2 layers.  One that is the "GM revealed" and one that is the players map.  The video tutorials are awesome at explaining the power of maptools

Re: GM Wanted

Let's try to keep this thread specific to people looking for games. This topic might be more suited for GMping aint easy.

Re: GM Wanted

I'm looking to play the Kingmaker AP.  I was in one on RPGnet, but it seems to have died due to a mix of Christmas and player incompatibility.  Thing is, I really quite like my character and would like to get to play him for more than a single encounter.

My character was a dis-illusioned Galtian mercenary/revolutionary, who recently fled Galt after having picked the wrong side to support in a bit of small scale revolutionary nonsense.  Wandered up north through the River Kingdoms and into Brevoy.  Looking for something worth fighting for.  Human urban barbarian (I felt barbarian matched how he approaches combat better than fighter does, but can rebuild into a fighter), Chaotic Neutral.  Trait of Killer from the APG and Bandit from the Kingmaker path.

So, anyone up for running Kingmaker and letting me play that character?

Re: GM Wanted

If any game needs a healer, I'd like to play a priest.  For those of you unfamiliar with one, it's a less martial, more academic version of the cleric.  It can be found on the Pathfinder OGC site.  I have a few ideas, but I'm pretty flexible in terms of race or background.  I would rather play at least at level 3.

Re: GM Wanted

Hmmm do remember that priest is technically 3rd party material. It is based off of the cloistered cleric in 3.5, but in addition, they increased the amount it could heal with it's channels.

Re: GM Wanted

I don't expect every GM to allow it.  That's why I specifically mentioned it by name, rather than just a generic healer type.  That way GMs that don't want to allow a priest need not respond to the ad I wrote asking to play one.

I would allow it, though, I start my players at level 1, not 3. So, if you're interested, let me know. You can find my game here: link to another game

Re: GM Wanted

I want to play in a high power game...like stupidly strong for whatever level it may be, with the right amount of challenge, but otherwise it is clear the players are the 'main characters'.

I don't mean 'all 3.5 books open lulz' or anything crazy like that, I am just getting a little tired of waves of level 1-3 games that don't even get through a battle before they slow to a crawl...I want to feel like a hero again, like what I'm doing is either saving the world or making it worse, not gratifying some nameless NPC in a backwater town that's too lazy to do his own job...

EDIT: Let me be clear, I have no issues with low level or power games...but there's SO MANY that it's getting hard to make any of my characters feel unique, since at lower levels they're pretty much defined by their one or two feats and archetype.

EDIT2: To go further...I don't even mean I want to be like 16th level or anything, just 7+...when martial classes and casters can start getting to the stuff most NPCs never dream of.

Re: GM Wanted

Id be interested in a level 10ish game if someone was to run it. I've been toying with some ideas that would fit better at those levels. I'm thinking a half-orc dragon blooded sorcerer or a human monk.

I'm also really looking for someone to run a game that uses the dragon empires. So I could be a Tengu ninja or a samurai

I too would love a Dragon Empire one, had a Nagaji Ninja/Monk based on grapples that I've been trying to use for a while...had a DE campaign that was gonna be my test run, ended in the middle of our first battle, then I tried it again in another game and it was fine but...the character just did not work with the setting...

I'm new to pathfinder and am looking for a low-level game. Please let me know if you have one available. I might be able to get a few other people in as well if you need multiple members.

Re: GM Wanted

I have a concept I'd like to try out, but it's hard to find a game open to the specifics.  His background writeup is pretty long, so I won't clog up the forum with the whole thing.  If you're interested, rMail me and we can hash out the details of how he'd fit into your world.  Below I've put in some basic parameters I'm seeking, so if you don't like them, you don't have to read further.  ;)

  1.  Starting level 6+.
  2.  Access to material from Psionics Unleashed.  Bonus points if you're willing to work with me on some 3.5 material.
  3.  Gestalt would be cool, but by no means necessary.
  4.  I prefer games with a more cinematic feel.  Fights on rain-slick rooftops,  revelation and betrayal, secrets and coverups, all appeal to me more than killing goblins in a cave.

Character in a nutshell: Fen was abducted and used in experiments to unravel the secrets to immortality.  In a roundabout way his captors succeeded, but immortality was merely a side effect of creating a new form of life.  He was a prototype Elan, and it was only through the use of his newfound abilities that he was able to evade the prison his captors had crafted.

Depending on the timeframe, there are a few ways to approach Fen's plot hooks.  Either he is a recent escapee, in which case his captors know exactly what he looke like since he was engineered by them.  He may have even been crafted to resemble whoever is funding the project, so that a success would resonate with the one in charge.

If you want Elans to be widespread in your game (or if another player is playing one), then perhaps he's just been around forever.  However, he could still bear knowledge from an ancient time, leading in to other plot hooks, such as locations that time has swallowed up, or knowledge of the people driving the Elan community.  It could play out more like a conspiracy game.

Finally, I'd add that Eberron is a great setting for this character.  House Cannith has lost a great deal on thier investment in the Warforged, given that they can no longer be legally produced.  But given their talent for crafting, perhaps they would be more suited to selling eternal life.  On the more sinister side, they could even partner with the Quori for funding, guaranteeing the Quori a certain number of suitable vessels in exchange for their psionic expertise.  There are plenty of potential plot hooks, and I'd be happy to work with you on them.

Re: GM Wanted

Any GM's open to unusual characters? (Think Dragon PC or Grig)?

Not necessarily related, there was some discussion about higher level games (6+), did we get a GM for that?

Re: GM Wanted

Any games think they could use a Dwarven fighter, who might throw in a level of Alchemist, who is the equivalent to a Dwarven SWAT member.

Rorik Volkrn. He uses smokesticks, alchemists fire, thunderstones and other thrown weapons to confound foes and make it easier to kill them.

Re: GM Wanted

I see a lack of underwater games, and I would love to play in a fully underwater game with all of the sea monsters, and races of pathfinder.

If anyone is interested, and wants to run a game, I'd love to help flesh out the setting.

Re: GM Wanted

So I posted an ad in GMW, but figured I'd add it here as well since it's PF, and rather niche.  Below is a link to the full ad description, as well as the condensed version.

link to a message in another game

  tl;dr
All characters immortal, level 4+ (max around 8?)
Small group (no more than 5)
Time gaps between adventures to see what becomes of our actions.
  Dynamic setting.
Pathfinder system.  I wouldn't mind throwing in Heroic or something, but for the most part, keeping it simple is probably best.
