Introductions

Welcome to the Forum!

I'm Dubu. A Chicago based player who only recently got into Pathfinder as a way to rebel against AD&D 4eD. I've been gaming about 25 years.

Re: Introductions

I've been RPing since I was Eight. I'm Twenty Nine now. So I have twenty one years of gaming knowledge. I have amassed to large bookshelves filled with different RPGs. Here is a list of what I have Hard Copy. http://thruxus.shadows-angels.com/List.txt I've been playing Pathfinder since its Alpha release, and Playtesting. Been an avid fan since its incarnation. I tired 4th Edition for a few months, and ended up hating it from the get go. Recently. I've been expanding my Hard Copy Collection of Pathfinder books, and Have included the APG to the above list. When Income tax season rolls around I plan on picking up a few of the compiled adventure Paths.

I've ran a BUNCH of games here on RPOL, mostly D&D and Whitewolf's World of Darkness settings. I tend to run great games, but they die off a bunch of the time. Due to personal things or issues. I've come and gone a bunch over the years here on RPOL. Right now I am running the Carrion Crown Adventure Path, and its going great. But I think that is because were using Yahoo and having nightly sessions where we are all online.

Anyways, Hope this Forum can get off the ground. I'd love to bounce ideas off of other Pathfinder Players.

Re: Introductions

Hello all,

Been roleplaying on and off for about fifteen years. Took a break for a while due to school right about when 3.5 came out. Got back into it a year or so ago, with my roommate who was into 4e (currently running a couple 4e games now). Don't really have the hate for it as some others, but I recently got into Pathfinder and I like it quite a bit more. I especially like the modules, certainly better than most of the stuff put out by WotC.

I recently got my hands on the Lands of the Linorm Kings book, and have been itching to run a game in that setting (especially since I've been playing Skyrim so much).

Hi,

Great Cthulhu here (no...not Him). I've been RPing steadily since the early 80s with all sorts of systems but D&D has always been prominent in all its forms. Now its Pathfinder!

Currently I've been running the Slumbering Tsar series of modules from Frog God games.

Re: Introductions

I started roleplaying only 4 years ago. Yeah I know kinda late, so mostly play roleplay dnd in RL but was always interested in all kind of systems, so started looking online for other venues to play these systems. My group converted to Pathfinder in 2009 and right now, I'm dming an urban campaign that has been going on from level 1 to level 10 so far, and will end at around level 15-16.

Re: Introductions

Hi folks,

I've been RPing for about 18-19 years now (since I was 7!). I've played many, many different kinds of games, and enjoyed most of them. Pathfinder is my current favorite incarnation of D&D, though I've played BD&D (my first RPG), AD&D2e, 3e, 3.5, and 4e.

I don't often run games online, though I've considered starting up a small Pathfinder game in a Wild West-ish homebrew setting at some point.

Anyway, cheers.

Re: Introductions

Recent Pathfinder player here...perhaps a year and a half at most.

Started back in the late 80's with D&D, Battletech, Star Wars d6 and a bit later with 40k when Necromunda was new and from there branched out into a whole lotta others.

Right now Rpol is my primary source since all my existing groups have moved onto greener pastures far away from the muggy swampland known as Tallahassee, Florida that for some arcane reason is the Capitol of the state...

Miss my homeland of Chicago...how is the weather these days?  Miss the snow. :)

Re: Introductions

Greetings and salutations!
I too have been playing rpg's since I was around six or seven, I am now twenty seven, starting with semifreeform and advancing to dnd. Since then I've played a lot of different games including WoD (old and new), ADnD, Wh40k (every line released so far) and more. Like many others I prefer Pathfinder to the abomination that is 4e and am currently running my second attempt at gm'ing a PF game here on RPOL.

Re: Introductions

Hey everyone.

I've been gaming since I was about 11 years old (and I'll be 37 in April, to give you an idea of how long ago that was... over a quarter of a century!), starting with D&D, and going from there through quite a few systems (Cyberpunk 2020, Marvel FASERIP, World of Darkness, back to D&D 3.5, an unfortunate jaunt through 4th edition D&D, and now Pathfinder).  I've played in a few games here on RPoL and even run a couple, which unfortunately died out due to unfortunate circumstances.

For what it's worth, I like in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, and am planning on setting up a game for my wife and 5-year old son.  :)

Re: Introductions

Hey all.

Not too unfamiliar with the various systems, just haven't ever got a chance to really learn a system in depth, and I'm also lacking a few books. Been playing RPG's for a good time, since I've been about fifteen. Been mostly playing Pathfinder IRL on table top, but a lack of interested parties in my city seems to have stopped me dead in my tracks.

Beyond that, got into Pathfinder since I didn't like 4e and 3.5 simply didn't seem as entertaining. That and Pathfinder isn't horribly broken and overloaded by pointless and, at times, contradictory supplement books.

Re: Introductions

Hi all!

I'm GM'ing two PF games right now, in a custom world.  I'm never been especially happy about playing in games where the GM is using a packaged scenario -- I think that people have more passion about a world that they've created.  My world has been under development, in one fashion or another, since 1978 when I first started playing D&D.

I wonder if anyone is interested in chatting about rules modifications.  For instance, I have a modification to the skill rules, because I don't think PF got it right, either.  I'd be glad for feedback on them.

Hey there.  I'm Jarilye, and I've been on rpol for a while now.  Been playing PF for a few months, and I'm pretty familiar with it.  Generally I enjoy unusual stories and opportunities in terms of character creation, but I'm not averse to modules.  I find they tend to have a higher survivability here.

At this point, I'm mostly a player due to my schedule, which is currently preventing me from investing the time it would take to GM.

Whargibly all. DarkwindStriker, aka Gatewalker, here. I play 3.5 primarily, but have no reservations about swiping from Pathfinder whenever I see something swipeable, so I figure that's close enough. Currently playing in one PF game here on RPoL as a strange teenage water sorcerer.

Been thinking about getting an E6 style PF game going, but it's just a thing that's maybe on the table for the future, not anything in the works yet.

Picked up the 3.5 books as soon as they came out and converted to Pathfinder as soon as it came out. I'm not a big fan of 4e, but it has it's pros and cons. Might be looking to join a PF game as a player sometime in the near future! Thanks for having me guys!

Hello all.  I started playing d6 star wars back in 88, when I was 11.  I moved on to 2nd Edition AD&D, I didn't get into 3 or 3.5 much due to lack of players where I was. Recently I have found that I really like the Pathfinder system.

Hi, everyone.
My name is Bill and I've been gaming for 30 years. I started with Holmes Basic, moved to AD&D and played through 1e, 2e, 3es, and now play PF. I've played a lot of other RPGs as well including Villains and Vigilantes, Mutants and Masterminds, Champions, GURPS, Feng Shui, Paranoia, Toon, Traveller, Talislanta, Torg, Top Secret, Chill, Indiana Jones, Star Frontiers, James Bond 007, Recon, Star Trek, Star Wars d20 and Saga Edition, and probably a few more I can't remember.

I'm currently taking over running a Curse of the Crimson Throne adventure path for a missing GM on the forums here. I also run a tabletop Council of Thieves campaign.

Re: Introductions

Hi all,

I've been a gamer since high school, 27 or so years ago. Started with D&D Basic, then moved on to AD&D, Tunnels and Trolls, Villains & Vigilantes, Marvel Super Heroes and DC Heroes. Moved onto college and got involved with Rolemaster, Champions, World of Darkness (original) and Amber Diceless. Did some live role-playing for a bit. Recently, it's been mostly Pathfinder or Champions as my games of choice, though I also have D&D 3.5, D20 Modern and Mutants & Masterminds.

Out in the real world, I am running two campaigns of Legacy of Fire. I've tried running games on-line, but I didn't do so well as I never seemed to have enough time for it. So, I content myself with being a player.

Re: Introductions

Hi everyone:)

I've been gaming since 1981 starting with Basic D&D and AD&D. I've played all versions of this game up to 3.5 and have now added Pathfinder to the list.
Other RPG's that I've played or GM'd include:

- Old World of Darkness (all games set in this game universe)
- Powers & Perils
- Star Frontiers
- Kult
- Witchcraft
- Armageddon
- Runequest
- Gamma World
- Champions
- Marvel Superheroes
- DC Heroes
- Warhammer
- Call of Cthulu
- Star Wars

At this time I'm mostly spending my time between Pathfinder, 1st E. AD&D, Powers & Perils, and Vampire the Masquerade.

As a player I prefer story over simple hack-n-slash and I'm always on the lookout for games that combine an epic and intelligent story with atmosphere, exploration, mystery, intrigue, puzzles and well thought out battles.

new to Pathfinder, though played 3.5e a good bit at one time- mostly low-level and online games.  Currently playing some 4e having recently gotten back into gaming.  I also ran a WFRP game on this site for over a year, and might be looking to get back into something like that soon.

Hello everyone. I'm a relatively new player; only got about a year of gaming under my belt, most of it online pbp. I'm most familiar with the Pathfinder system, although I do know how to play 3.5 and 4e DnD and have cursory knowledge of Exalted. Currently playing in two Pathfinder games, both are homebrew settings.

'ello peeps.  Youre all mostly new to me, except Peonygirl, who actually introduced me to PF and saved me from ADnD 3.5 and 4.0.

Finding PF games were a real pain when it first came out so is started a low level one that actually caught on and took for on RPOL.  Been pretty happy with it since.  The campaign has been moving along now for well over a year, and i've learned a thing or two along the ways working out the details to the game.

Never too proud to learn a good thing from someone else, and never too greedy to share what i've learned if youre interested.

Long time gamer....20 plus years.  But I am only 34..LOL.

Played alot of games.  Shadowrun, Gurps, Battletech(just a little), MtA, VtG, WtA, CtD, Wraith, and the rest of the D6 WW games, D&D, AD&D, AD&D2nd ed, 3rd, 3.5, Pathfinder.......(NEVER 4th ed).

I seem to be cast the role of the GM most of the time, and I am dedicated to fleshing out my homebrew world.  Which in turn will be the setting for my serious effort into webcomics.

Sword and Sorcery....yes please!  High gimpy fantasy....not so much.

I am an artist and a contract sketch card artist for Cryptazoic.  (Not full time)

Re: Introductions

I've been roleplaying for quite some time- started in 2nd edition DND- and West End Games D6 Star Wars. Through the years I was the guy who got called to DM games on-the-fly, and alot of my games have just formed as we went. One of the longest running campaigns was the 'Sigil game'- where I ran a Planescape game that eventually died out as we all got families and some of us moved away. I have rebooted that game and within the last 3 months converted it over to Pathfinder.

I'm a father of two and stay-at-home dad (well- I work on the weekends) and I have played numerous Mutants and Masterminds games here on the boards and got one running tabletop for a few months (which has given way to PF).

I fancy myself a writer and enjoy reading- William Gibson, Kurt Vonnegut, Frank Herbert, George R Marin, Stephen King- to name a few... and I greatly enjoy mythology and things wrote by Joseph Campbell.

Re: Introductions

Hey, all! Just joined this forum and wanted to say hello. Nice to see a lot of old Star Wars d6 players here - I got into that system after playing AD&D 2nd Edition and various Palladium games in middle school. Still love Star Wars d6 as a system. I just found my Far Orbit Campaign book - I still regret never having gotten a chance to run that one.

I bought Rise of the Runelords/Burnt Offerings when it first came out and started up a face to face game, but it didn't last. I've gotten back into Pathfinder the last couple of years after a brief flirtation with D&D 4th Edition. I love the Pathfinder system and the setting. I just started a Pathfinder Kingmaker campaign on RPoL (called, appropriately, [Pathfinder] Kingmaker), which will be my first time running a Pathfinder game! I've run a lot of 3rd and 3.5 games, though. Lately I've been getting into a lot of indie games and am intrigued by the OD&D/old school renaissance - I'm looking forward to playing one of those games and getting a feel for what D&D was like in the early days.

I'm "endymion" over on the paizo boards.

Lo folks.  Didn't give myself a proper introduction.

I've been roleplaying for the better part of 25 years now.  I started with the original D&D, and have probably played most of the notable rpgs since then.  I enjoy most genres, and I don't mind whether it's free form or super crunchy.

Shadowrun is my favourite game, with WoD and D&D a close second and third.  I've recently gotten into Pathfinder, and I'm digging it. :)
