Thank you very much! I was curious if the Eagle would take me up on my offer... :C)

At the moment the best Eagle would consider for Ben is a Glasgow kiss. . .

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

I think the DMG states a character dropping below 0 has to rest a week to recover. Now, I'm going by memory and my memory also tells me this was an optional rule. Mr. DM, I'm fine with however you wish this to work in your game. If Duvall can cast another CLW on Ben and have him dancing a jig, I'm good.

yeah. That's the sort of game I am running. Cinematic. Not gritty.

Does that mean we can get the next batch of lizard men to break into choreographed song and dance?

So, I guess the plan is to head back to the secret vault atop the ziggurat and attempt to rest up?

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

I don't think even lizard men will eat dwarves. You're good, Norion.

[Private to DM Storm: DM, couple quick ?s:

1. The post in house rules is a little confusing re memorization of spells. Is that post meant to say that clerics can cast any spell of any level they've obtained/mastered? If so, would I just keep track such as: Cast 2 first level and 1 second level spells on this adventure day?

2. Are we using the Unearthed Arcana rules and spells? Some of those are a little out there, but there are some good ones, too!

It's your game, I'm trying to clarify before I make some colossal goof! Thanks for a great game! Outside of Wineguy's games, it's been a long time since I was in a good one. A very long time.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

Re: spells...

You do not need to "memorize" spells. Basically, we use spell slots here.

So, Duvall can cast 5-1st level spells and 4-2nd level spells per day, and can choose which spells to cast on the fly.

Just keep track of how many spells you cast per day and don't worry about memorizing specific spells.

Re: Unearthed Arcana spells...

I do not have that source anymore, but if there is something you wish to cast out of that book, just let me know what it does and it shouldn't be a problem. I vaguely remember there being some useful spells in that book.

***

Also, if any of our spellcasters had spells they wanted to use BEFORE turning in for the night, we can take care of that retroactively. I know Eagle mentioned wanting to cast some CLW's. Go ahead and take care of that as well either here in the OOC thread, or in the game thread. Doesn't matter, either way works for me.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

In reply to DM Storm (msg # 39):

So I edited my post in game, but in case anyone misses it, I cast CLW on Ben and Norion. And a lot of good it did either of them!

09:45, Today: Eagle rolled 1 using 1d8. CLW Norion.
09:45, Today: Eagle rolled 2 using 1d8. CLW Ben.

By the way, I'm keen to further investigate what this ring might do. Anyone got any good ideas for how Eagle might discover the properties? He's already tried some kind of strange chicken dance to no avail, and went through a combat with no noticeable effects. . .

In reply to Eagle (msg # 40):

Good question. Rath seemed to have some sence of the value of the bracers which Ben's vile greed procured for him. I have to wonder if there are any myths or legends regarding how magical rings are activated. Maybe a trigger word?

Hey, a hit point's a hit point! Sometime it's that last one that keeps you out of the grave!

For bracers of defense, I think the common trigger word is, "Vile greed."

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

OK, that clears it up. Duval has 2 more "slots" as far as I can tell, so anyone needing healing before they turn in, sing out. He'll burn one on himself if not.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

I want to make sure I understand what is going on before posting...is Ben remaining behind while the others continue exploring the lower levels?

[Private to Ben Scristos: As far as Ben knows, the shadow only manifested when he grabbed the loot. It may have been there before, or that could have been the trigger? No way to really tell.]

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

Unless Ben changes his mind, it looks like that's the intention. I'm more interested in finishing off the lizard men and staying alive, which might be harder without the thief to point out the big falling blocks of stone, than exploring for the sake of exploring.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

At last check, I am down to nine hit points. I don't feel safe going out like that. I don't need to be a hundred percent, but running in here with so few is really tempting fate.

I think someone offered me another heal, but I'm not sure. I'm good on waiting here alone though, simply plan your assault in such a way as to draw your foes to you, and stay in locations that have already been vetted for traps.

In reply to Ben Scristos (msg # 48):

You've got 14/21 according to DM's last post - have you remembered to add the house rule 'recover your level in hit points' each time you rest?

Incidentally, although that's only 2/3s of hit points, it's one more than a fully healed Saliq has in total!
