14? Is that right GM? If so, I will go along, I healed myself five when I slept, then one and two for each of the healings, I had myself at nine.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

Looks like we are still trying to figure out what the plan is: go back inside or set up an ambush in the event the lizard-folk come out at night?

In other news...I am going camping the next few days and will be leaving tomorrow morning and not back until late Friday night, possibly Saturday morning. So, we will be on hiatus for most of this week as I will be busy enjoying the great outdoors.

Thanks!

Okay, maybe we can hash out a plan OOC at least during the downtime.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

I'm not keen to go in the front door without some sort of edge. If the lizard men haven't prepared for us, it would be shocking.

I do want to set up a spy-posy high in one of the trees to see what is going on, but that shouldn't take all day. I just want to be to the opposite of the ziggurat from the entrance.

Does it seem worth setting up an ambush during the day for any returning lizard men, or parties that might venture out?

To the magic folk, in particular, if I am in that tree, and you guys are in our hidey-hole, is there anyway to let you know from the tree if/when to burst forth in righteous rage?

What if my 'crows nest' is on the same side of the structure as the opening? Maybe peeking out periodically? Thought?

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

So, not sure if it's possible, but if the stone of the door is thin enough I wondered whether Eagle could cast shape stone, and make some spy holes out of the secret room. I guess we could then spy out and wait until lizard's/devil worshippers turn up, hoping they don't spot the small holes in the dark, and then start lobbing spells at them, cause panic, and then leap out and rescue the sacrificial victims. . . In this plan I guess Ben/an other could be in a tree as well to start lobbing slingshots/arrows as well (extra confusion!)

It's just an idea though - I guess it could all go pretty badly wrong. . .

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

I'm definitely leaning toward ambush as opposed to wandering the tunnels hoping we can flush the lizard folk out. They've already set up one fairly successful attack on us. I'm  afraid if we go down there again, we risk stumbling across another one.

Norion's role in such an undertaking is pretty straightforward: wade in and swing.

Question: If we do set up an ambush, can Scristos set up some improvised traps?

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

I like the idea of the ambush, but the details elude me. It will require  some communication and coordination among us, and some way to observe. The peep-hole in the stonework idea has some merit, but I'm not sure it will give us a good view of things, especially up top.

But, hey, I'll go along with it.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

I think there are two ambushes being discussed. I think.

During the day, do we want to set up an ambush in the swamp, near the entrance, to catch any returning raiding parties, or anyone lizard men who wander out

and during the night, I and perhaps one other would hide up a tree, while the rest hide in the lair. If/when a victim is brought to the altar, the people in the tree would signal those in the lair to come out, if the party on the top seems defeatable.

Does that seem about right?

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

Sounds good. Maybe we could set our daytime ambush just inside the front entrance, rather than in the swamp? I'm guessing the lizards will have an advantage in the water and mud.

I suspect there is already an ambush just inside the entrance, but it's meant for us.

Could become a mexican stand-off though the lens of Monty Python - two ambushes just waiting for each other just inside/outside the entrance.

Sorry for my lack of recent posting - I'm a little busy these days.

Obviously Saliq will be contributing his illusions to any ambush, though the exact illusions depends on what angle we want to run with.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

Back from an outstanding week camping in the great outdoors of beautiful southern New Mexico!

Ancient cliff dwellings, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, camping under the stars...

:)

At any rate, I am slowly pulling myself back to reality and have a ton of stuff to catch up on...mostly school stuff. I am going to try to get some game posts up this weekend, but that might be a bit ambitious. We'll see how it goes.

Also, I am heading into the the final two weeks of my class and that always puts a damper on my free time.

Thanks,

~Storm

Yes. This is possible. Eagle could also set it up such that these holes had a good vantage point of Ben, in the tree, and the front entrance into the ziggurat as well.

Re: OOC: Table Talk 2

Unfortunately, the player of Duvall Kane had to bow out due to real-life issues.

A very good player from one of my other games has expressed interest in joining this game, but he has also expressed interest in bringing a new character into the fold versus taking over the orphaned cleric.

Not sure what kind of character he is interested in playing, but obviously the loss of a cleric will be fairly significant in terms of party dynamics.

The Action Point mechanic and the way I handle wound recovery via rest takes some of the onus off of having a cleric to serve as a walking band-aid, but the class still has other very useful abilities to an adventuring party. It is not an insurmountable task to adventure without a cleric (particularly with a druid and illusionist in the party), but it does make things more difficult.

Your thoughts?

Take the new guy, and advertise for someone to take over the cleric.
