Turn Undead

Duvall was able to successfully turn two of the shadows; however the other two will still get to take actions this round, before Ben has a chance to clear the door.

Re: LEVEL-UP!

DM Storm:
Magic items have been few and far between, but that's mostly due to the creatures you have encountered so far. Now that your characters are in the mid-levels, you should see more magic items. Still, I tend to be a pretty conservative DM when it comes to magic items and treasure, so I wouldn't expect to be girded down too heavily with them.

Rath could use a magic sword, when you have a chance. :)

Just as a heads-up for everyone, I am going camping with the family next weekend and will be off the grid 15-18 Feb.

Re: LEVEL-UP!

I guess this really a situation where character has to take a backseat to gameplay. In character Saliq would probably be calling for Ben to be kicked out of the group immediately and for the party to hire another thief but since he is another PC we can't do that.

(I'm not as annoyed as my character but he'd definitely be raging now. :)

Re: LEVEL-UP!

You should play it straight Saliq, if you want me kicked out, say it. My only hope would be to redeem myself before the end of the adventure...

Re: LEVEL-UP!

Personally I'm not annoyed at all - in a previous rpol game I played in, my (1st level) half-orc assassin was crushed to death by a laser eyed 6HD magical gargoyle after he'd prised one of his ruby eyes out, which then went after the rest of the (1st level) party!

In character, Eagle is hella raging!

roleplay it out!

I'm good with all of that, but I would like to see it in character. I would like to see (after this battle) a chastisement that would motivate Ben to change. OOC posting is all well and good, but Ben can't respond to it, especially since up till a minute ago all he seemed to get was praised for his actions.

Re: roleplay it out!

Hey, now! Norion let his opinion of  Scristos be known! :)

That said, I think Ben needs to be praised for being true to his character with his role-playing. Taking the coffer, knowing full well he could be risking some kind of undead wrath, is exactly what a thief would do. Blinded to the danger by the potential profit.

Eagle:
Shaking with adrenaline - caused by either fear or anger, he is not sure which - it is all Eagle can do to draw his scimitar in a wide arch as he approaches the lizardmen, narrowly missing one of his companions.

If any threat was meant to the lizardmen with such a maneuver, it wasn't clear to anyone except Eagle.

Just for the record, this is one of the best fumble narratives I've ever come across. Great stuff, Eagle!

In reply to Norion Ironaxe (msg # 988):

Thanks Norion. Ben has just pointed out it would have been even neater had Eagle specifically nearly taken Ben's head off - out of anger or incompetence who would have known? I wasn't quite sharp enough though for that this morning though!

And yeah, once the immediate danger is over I'm sure Eagle will be choosing some measured, if slightly choice, words for Ben in due course!

Well, they'll have to take some time to fatten up Ben. So we might have a chance to escape.

Ben, remember you can use an action point to add to your attack roll. If, you know, you want to.

kudos for Saliq and his incedibly clever illusion. As the water beast is something they might already be aware of it increases the chance.they should believe it or so I assume anyway.

Nice work on the illusion. It just made 3 of the lizard-folk run away.

Okay. Now waiting on Duvall's post...

Re: roleplay it out!

In other exciting news, yesterday I was notified that I was selected for a new assignment, with a departure date of 1 July. My days in southern New Mexico are coming to a rapid close. Where to next?

Honolulu, Hawaii!

Will be sad to leave New Mexico, but happy to go to Hawaii. Family is pretty excited but also sad/nervous. That's one of the cool/crappy things about being in the military. You get to live places you might not otherwise have a chance to see, but at the downside of having to move every few years and leave people behind.

But, it's Hawaii!

I grew up traveling from base to base, and I loved it as a kid. Best of luck at your new duty station, I've heard Hawaii can be a blessing and a curse. It's amazing, but some people start to go island happy after awhile.
