Re: Fate & Bounty

Have 1W, 0R, 1B, and 10 Bounty

I'm not going to cash in any chips.

With the Marshal's permission, I'm going to spend 3 Bounty to purchase "The Stare". I'm also going to bump both my Shootin': Pistols and Shootin': Rifles up one level apiece.

That leaves me with a balance of 1W, 0R, 1B, and 0 Bounty.

I'd like to up Shootin':Pistols to 3 (3 Bounty). I'd also like to acquire the edge Snakeoil Salesman (3 Bounty).

I'll bank the remaining 2 Bounty, leaving me with 6W 3R 1B for chips.

Re: Fate & Bounty

Congratulations on keeping yourself from getting butchered!  We thought at least one of you would have been decapitated for sure.  Ah, well.  There's always next time.

For being so capable, Fate has shoved this little reward up your ass:

Gabby:       2W -R -B 1L
Coraline:    1W 1R 1B
Caleb:       2W 1R -B
Randolph:    2W 1R -B
Sky Dog:     -W 1R 2B
Daniel:      3W -R -B

You can see that the LEGEND chip was thrown into the pot and automatically drawn by GABBY CLARKE.  Fuck me, that was fast!

So, what makes him so legendary?  If I had to guess, it'd be the impressive beard, his big 'fuck you' on the topic of animal control, and the scratchy long underwear he wears.  You know, the kind with the square flap in the back that never seems to stay closed, exposing his wrinkly old man ass?

Rolls are listed on the dice log.  Keep in mind, chips are first come first serve.  Once all the chips of one color are gone, your rolls automatically get downgraded to the next lowest color with available chips.  (Blue down to Red down to White.)

---------

After taking your chips, the following should be your grand totals:

Gabby:       2W 0R 0B 1L
Coraline:    5W 1R 3B
Caleb:       3W 1R 1B
Randolph:    6W 3R 1B **
Sky Dog:     3W 1R 3B
Daniel:      4W 1R 1B

**Randolph - The maximum amount of chips allowed is 10, which you already have.  Your chip draw was automatically converted to bounty.  Please add 4 bounty to your totals.  Next Fate draw, make sure to convert enough chips to bounty to leave you with 7 chips or less.

Please double check your final totals to make sure they are correct.  Report any discrepancies to the proper authorities so the matter can be handled with the professionalism you've come to know from your friendly Deadlands Marshal.

- Make sure to update your biography line to reflect your new totals!

Re: Fate & Bounty

End of Game Session!

Three Headless Horsemen! I wondered if you were up to the task, but I figured the only way to find out was to throw them at you and see what happened. Worst case scenario one of your PCs would have died or something. But hey, you guys nailed it!

Everyone gets 5 Bounty as a reward for the defeat of the Headless Horsemen! In addition to that everyone gets a Red Chip from me for putting up with my incessant delays over the last few months. I started this combat round and then one thing after another hit me, and here we are finishing it three months later. Hopefully this next year will be more productive and eventful!

Also, after that for those of you that have less than 7 chips, in a very socialist manner I am going to raise everyone up to 7 in a private line:

After you've counted up all your chips and decided what to do with 'em please post in this thread as follows:

(a) Which chips did you cash in? For how much bounty?
(b) What, if anything, are you improving?
(c) What chips you are left with? How much Bounty?*

*Remember, the maximum number of chips you can hold at any time is ten, so if you've got more than that at the time of the draw, some of them will automatically be converted to Bounty for you by the Deputy - so there's no point holding onto any more than seven at this stage.

After everyone has done this, the Deputy will draw your next session's chips for you in the order of the responses.

ALSO...

For facing down three Headless Horsemen at once, everyone who participated in that sequence gets 1 Grit. The next time you take a Guts test, add your Grit to whatever your result is (on top of any other bonuses you may have).

Since I'm such a great guy, I've already gone ahead and added it to your character sheets for you (it's towards the top section).

Re: Fate & Bounty

Wow! It's been well over a year since Fate has smiled (or frowned, as the case may be) upon you. A slow year, but a year nonetheless. Let's remedy that, along with one other thing. I've made a few changes to my House Rules that I think will be appreciated:

1. As long as you have the Bounty to pay for something, you can improve it without the old restriction of requiring your success for that skill in the previous game session (unless you're trying to improve an Aptitude to more than a 5).
2. Players will now draw their own chips, and I'm no longer counting to make sure the chip balance is as in the rules.

Without further ado, I declare this game session to be at an end. Everyone gets 1W 1R 1B.

Here's the updated guidance as to how your posts in this thread should look:

(a) Which chips did you cash in? For how much bounty?
(b) What, if anything, are you improving?
(c) What chips you are left with before your draw? (How many? Which colors?)
(d) Roll 1d85 for each chip you should get. For most players, this should be 3d85 unless some ability lets you draw more. Post your roll.
(e) What chips you are left with after your draw? (How many? Which colors?)

Don't forget to update your Bio line with your new chip total!

REMEMBER:  You can't have more than 10 chips at a time, so if you're around there, I suggest you cash in a few for Bounty.

Notes:
  • White Chips are worth 1 Bounty, Red Chips are worth 2 Bounty, Blue Chips are worth 3 Bounty, Legend Chips are worth 5 Bounty
  • When rolling for chips a result of 1-50 returns a White Chip, a result of 51-75 returns a Red Chip, and a result of 76-85 returns a Blue Chip.
  • If there is a Legend chip present, use a d86 instead. A result of 86 will return a Legend Chip.
  • See the Deadlands Player's Guide and Marshal Law: House Rules thread for more details on Fate, Bounty, and Improvin'.

Re: Fate & Bounty

Current Chips: 7w, 3r, 2b

This means I need to cash some in, as I can only have 10 chips at a time.

Current Bounty: 0

I think, based on the good rolls Gabby gets on Cognition checks, that he's going to develop the Keen edge (costs 9 bounty). So I will spend 1b, 2r, 2w for the 9 Bounty I need for it.

Chips after that: 5w, 1r, 1b

I'm about to get 3 new chips, so I'll trade in 3w for 3 Bounty to be used later.

That leave my chip total 2w, 1r, 1b

My current bounty: 3

New chips:

09:25, Today: Gabby Clarke rolled 3,65,77 using d85,d85,d85 with rolls of 3,65,77. Fate Chips.

1w, 1r, 1b. :D

New current total: 3w, 2r, 2b

New Current Bounty: 3

New Edge purchased: Keen
