Caleb spent a good amount of time canvassing the area around the Dog Eye Saloon, talking to people around. From what little he was able to gather, no one knew Paul very well. He was a man of regular habits, though, and had taken a room on the second floor of the Dog Eye Saloon. He took all his meals at Kennely's restaurant across the street, and took regular walks.

The marshal made the restaurant his first stop. Kennely's was a small place packed with tables, chairs, and six very satisfied looking diners. The kitchen was in the eastern side-building. The decor was like the food: tasteful but plain.

A plain faced woman, clearly the hostess, greeted Caleb when he entered. "How may I help ya? A table for just you, or ya bringin' the missus?" she asked with a smile.

Morgan smiled, politely tipping his hat to the woman. "I'm afraid it's just me, ma'am." He opened his jacket to reveal the star pinned to his vest. "I'm Deputy Marshal Morgan. I'm not certain if you're aware ma'am, but there was a murder here last night, at the Dog Eye Saloon. I'm trying to track down some information about the victim, a man named Paul. From what I understand, he ate here fairly regularly."
