The plane lands in a hurry and those who cannot fly get out. Unfortunately the landing strip is 1.5 miles from the outskirts of Mercury. Fortunately there are jeeps waiting to go and as the team bundles in they jeeps tear up the road at breakneck pace. One of the soldiers in the jeep shouts out; "We are holding them off but barely, I only hope we can get you all there in time. Hopefully your fliers can help some in the meantime."

Meanwhile, 1.5 miles away Oscillator and Sunphoenix arrive over Mercury proper and circle, taking in the lay of the land. They see the biggest concern as the two different sizes of ants moving around in the streets and on/over the buildings, too close to the evacuation and being just held off by suppressing fire from the ground. They know it may be a little bit before the others are able to arrive so for now it is up to them...

OOC: I am not going to bother with initiative at the moment for Oscillator and Sunphoenix as there are no flying ants (yet?). So with their Agility and even average d10 rolls each would get two actions per turn.

With the need for jeeps to serve as transport, Inhuman returned to the much lighter form as Muldoon.

Seeing the jeeps lined up and awaiting them, Muldoon called to his team "Alright let's mount up and get to the fight."

When the soldier spoke of the team's fliers, Muldoon barked back "Don't worry about them, Oscillator and Sunphoenix will give those bugs all they can handle. You just get us there ASAP."

Sunphoenix seeing the situation comes in at about a 50'ft height and lays down a line of fire between the line of suppression firing troops and the leading approach of the giANTS. Taking advantage of the piles of already slain bugs, he focuses his continuous streams of cosmic fire on them to set them ablaze and 'encourage' the other giANTS to avoid them.. herding them away from the evacuation lines as much as possible.

He will make every effort to try to avoid setting any buildings on fire in the process...

He yells down to the troops, "Fall back away from the burning giANTS in a cover firing order.. I'll ignite as you go so the giANTS stay away.. get those civis out of here!"

Vos didn't wait around.  She hit the ground running, vaulting ahead at a smidge over 150 mph to get to the target area, lowering her goggles into place to keep her eyes safe from sand...

Like Vos, Eddy wasn't inclined to wait upon the low-assed jeeps.
As soon as the plane door opened, Eddy was bounding out ... and absconded with the nearest motorbike, and took off at top speed after Vos.
He'd be damned if he'd let Sunny, Egghead and Vos have all the fun.

Nightmare rides in the jeep, rifle to shoulder peering forward through the scope. When they get close enough, he focuses on the enemy insects and mumbles, "हवे अत थी, अन्त".
When the jeep arrives at the skirmish line, he hops out and jogs to the soldiers, asking, "how tough are they?"

OOC:  Aaaaggghhh, after waiting for so long to post, my first post will be to honor V&V in the deepest way.

Osc takes in the scene, and activates all of his defenses before heading in.  "Oh bugger.  Team, we have found the pests, and they want to eat someone's picnic -- at the evacuation site!", he says into his radio.
