If all else fails, you can do one of those things that help you raise a bit of money for it and folks donate to it. GoFundMe or such. Glad you are both okay, keep safe, and keep well.

You might look into what is called a Hoyer lift. That will lift you like a sling off the ground

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

So it sounds like you want to roll up the merc blocking force at the top of the shaft from behind, allowing for a full escape of the expedition and materials. If this is the case then using the grav belts should allow you to quickly shuttle an armed group up the emergency stairs to outflank them.

What, if anything, is being done with the prisoners? You have a couple mercenaries, plus Kalamanaru's heavy, Gildinkur? They can remain restrained for now, then either retrieve them when the elevator is clear or leave them for Kalamanaru to deal with.

Obviously with Kalamanaru out there and will presumably a larger force of mercenaries, whatever you do needs to be done quickly as you can assume he's on the way!

Let me know if I have this incorrect.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

I think the strategy outlined is correct. We will pin or at least distract the enemy blocking force from the front while we maneuver fire on their flank and rear.

No killing of prisoners. We will keep them with us until they become a problem to manage at which point we will leave them somewhere where they can eventually be recovered by their comrades.

The key is as the GM states is to keep moving quickly. We want to keep the foe off balance and behind us.

I agree. As little killing as possible and not of those who have been captured.

In reply to Ken Jenkins (msg # 986):

Most likely the mercs will try to rejoin with Kalamanaru, who is located elsewhere but coming here. Still, you can only do what you can do. Maybe you can grab Gildinkur and throw him in one of the emergency low berths installed in the Seeker? Then turn him over to authorities. As a known close associate of Kalamanaru that would provide proof of his involvement. Assuming you win this fight, you can always return and grab him (as he's still secured).

Speaking of that, you have six working grav belts, plus three working salvaged Sky Raider 2-person grav sleds. Enough to transport everyone in your attack group.

Sorry to hear that. My games never go too fast as it is!

As for Gildinkur you can leave him behind or put him on a 2-person grav-sled. Shukhunaar will need to go on one with someone as he doesn't know how to use a grav-belt. It can be with an NPC.

That makes sense. I was thinking that our local friend might need help with the grav belts. As for the bad guy, we will tie him up.

Is Gildinkur coming with you, at least to the top of the stair shaft? The other mercs you can leave behind, no big deal if Kalamanaru recovers them.

That combat result was obtained using the abstract combat system from Book 4: Mercenary. This way we did not need a blow-by-blow account.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

The mercenary tables are actually quite helpful

I'm thinking that the fire and maneuver with a flanking move is not going to work to well given the current position of the mercenaries.

Re: OOC: Off-Topic Posts II

In reply to Ken Jenkins (msg # 998):

The mercs have withdrawn, leaving the exit to the elevator clear. Now you can decide to pursue them into the patch of forest where they fled, or at least somehow make them think you are going to pursue them into the woods in order to keep them pinned down. If you ignore them, they still outnumber you and once they get a chance to regroup they will likely try to counter-attach. You saw that at least some of them have grav belts as well so they could even pursue you.
