Okay I've posted a thread for experience points and what you can buy here (
link to a message in this game). I'll get to the actual experience points giving out in a moment.
I'm trying to bring everyone's characters into line with the more advanced rules rather than the stripped down hybrid we've been playing with, which mostly means giving you special skills your characters always had but never used.
Elstarir: Add the following Special Skills to your character sheet with 1 point in each:
Armour, Dodge, Forest Lore, Hunting, Languages: Elvish.
Mannath: Add the following Special Skills to your character sheet with 1 point in each:
Armour, City Lore: Port Blacksand, Dodge, Lock Picking, World Lore.
Tarrian: Add the following Special Skills to your character sheet with 1 point in each:
Armour, Dodge, Hunting, Plains Lore, Religion Lore.
Vithrain: Add the following Special Skills to your character sheet with 1 point in each:
Forest Lore, Language: Elvish, Magic: Minor, Religion Lore, Second Sight..
Some of these Special Skills are self explanatory, but to clarify:
Armour: Allows you to wear armour without penalty. The higher your Armour Special Skill the higher value armour you can wear.
City Lore: Is knowledge of one particular city - Port Blacksand or Kallamehr for instance.
Dodge: Is used to... well dodge things outside combat such as falling boulders or runaway horses.
Hunting: Catching or trapping food to eat in the wilderness.
Forest Lore: Basic woodland survival skills.
Language: Knowledge of an additional language (by default everyone already knows Language: Common Speech.)
Plains Lore: As Forest Lore but for plains.
Religion Lore: A grasp of the gods, mythology and religious ritual.
Second Sight: Allows the character to 'see' magical effects - the traces of a recently cast spell for instance.
World Lore: Basically common knowledge - who is the current king of Chalice, where does the wizard Yatztromo live, etc, etc.
