Cool, thanks. :)

I'm trying not to go too far ahead on one plotline so I like to give everyone a chance to post.

Re: Out of Character Chat

By the way I wanted to check with people whether they think their characters are literate.

Vithrain obviously is a wizard and thus literate by defenition and since Elstarir is his brother he is likely to be literate to.

Tarrian (as a barbarian) and Mannath (as an ex-street rat) might or might not be able to read and write. It can be characterful and isn't a huge disadvantage but if you prefer I'll just assume you picked it up somewhere. :)

I would say Mannath knows the basics but would struggle with a proper book.

Greetings! :D

Just so we know and don't make any social feau pas - are you male or female in real life!? :D

Also - all the players so far (and most unusually for any PBF game) are in England, except our GM who is over the water in Ireland. Whence do you hail lady Carolina? :)

Re: Out of Character Chat

I'm a middle age, ugly, bold man and I live in Yorkshire, after relocating from Scotland almost a year ago.
However, I'm not British.

What are the chances though, of all of us being in Blighty or it's nearest neighbours? That's just freaky lol :D

Re: Out of Character Chat

A question to all:

Should we now just post normally rather than via PMs, as there are now 3 PCs in the same room? This would be easier to manage (Group PMs are a pain in the arse on an iPad) and we can all promise not to metagame.

Also, GM, I asked Carolina some questions which I guess she couldn't read as they were in PMs.

Re: Out of Character Chat

Personally I always obey the Golden Rule (as we call it in LARP) - I would have been fine had you all been talking in thread the entire time - and actually all the PMs were narking me somewhat.

So feel free to ditch the PMs and go public. I'll be inside the tower as soon as the GM posts anyway. :)

Re: Out of Character Chat

I just want to see Tarrian's movements first, then I'll get you in Vithrain. :)

Alright then I think we can drop PMs at least for the moment. Everyone can start posting normally.

Does that include me as I'm above them in the tower I'm seeing things the rest might come across as they move up.

Re: Out of Character Chat

Yes. If people want to remain unspoiled they can look away from your character's post, then refer back to it when they actually reach your level.

For reference:

Vithrian and the soldiers are about to enter the Ground Floor.
Maanath, Lady Carolina and (I presume) Tarrian are on the First Floor.
Elstarir is on the Second Floor about to go up to the Roof.

They are now visible to me, so I edited my answer, keeping in mind mentioned situation, with players spread through the tower.

Re: Out of Character Chat

My copy of Crown of Kings arrived from Amazon today. The book is the official Advanced Fighting Fantasy version of the Sorcery! gamebooks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sorcery!) It's an interesting looking campaign but I'm not sure if I could run your characters through it, at least just yet since it takes place on another continent!

Any of you guys ever play through the Sorcery! books (The Shamutanti Hills; Khare: Cityport of Traps; The Seven Serpents and The Crown of Kings)? They were probably my favourite of the whole Fighting Fantasy line. Very different and very colourful.
