Re: Out of Character Chat

So how familiar are you guys with the Fighting Fantasy series anyway? Might give future adventure seeds. :)

In reply to The Gamesmaster (msg # 4):

I played a lot of the books as a kid (when they were first published) and really enjoyed them. Also played a lot of other solo FF style books, especially Lone Wolf.

Not played the AFF RPG before...

Re: Out of Character Chat

I also played a few of the books as a kid, played in a very short run game here.... got as far as character gen and then about a months worth of posting before it sank.

Not had any other experience with AFF apart from that

Re: Out of Character Chat

Cool. The reason I asked was that while it is unlikely to have much of an impact this adventurer playing a hero with a past can have an in game impact. For instance the hero of City of Thieves and the hero of Midnight Rogue (almost certainly two different people) both left their mark on Port Blacksand and people would remember them in that city. Also I might end up adapting one of the gamebooks into an adventure so good to know if it is one people have read before.

Still waiting on more players though!

I'm surprised you haven't had more interest in the game so far I've been itching to give it a go since I bought it..... Must just be me

Re: Out of Character Chat

I did have one player show interest but he owns the Riddling Reaver so knows the twists and turns unfortunately. Maybe he can join in the future.

I can probably adapt this to work with three characters if we have to.

Re: Out of Character Chat

In reply to The Gamesmaster (msg # 9):

a few options:

- That guy could play a character, but you could adapt the story to make significant changes from the original.
- you could NPC some of the adventurers until new players appear.
- some players could have 2 PCs.

Not saying any of these are good suggestions, but thought I would throw them out there!

If we're in no hurry to start we could always wait a few more days, or a full week so you can bump the advert. Fine by me!

I have a friend who is gming a game I'm in at the moment. Don't know if he's got the rules ( would that be a problem) but I've sent him a message to see if he'd be interested in joining ....will let you know

Thanks, I'm accepting him. :) Just waiting on a character choice.

So it looks like we have at least three. I'll wait until the weekend and if we don't get anyone new I'll draft in an NPC (luckily there actually is a suitable NPC in the adventure I can beef up for the role.)

Re: Out of Character Chat

Everyone please welcome our new Vithrain and Tarrian! :)

With luck (or maybe LUCK) we'll start tomorrow. Take the opportunity to chat and see if you guys have a common backstory.

Re: Out of Character Chat

My name is Vithrain. I am the brother of Elstarir. Do not fear my magic, but fear my wrath and my memory for Elves do not easily forget wrong-doings!

Otherwise known as Sam, or Bifford, and the aforementioned Gm and friend to Jason (Elstarir).

Nice to meet you, to meet you, Nice.

Re: Out of Character Chat

Hullo!  I used to love the FF books, so this will be an amazing walk down memory lane for me!  I'm really excited!

Since the elves know each other, shall we link our two backgrounds, Mannath?

Then we'll just need to figure out how the two pairs met and became such awesome road buddies.  : )

Fine by me. Any suggestions? I was going to go for being a bit of a cutpurse when I was younger, but now going adventuring as a way of earning some more coin.
