Re: OOC Discussion

Agreed. And I try to make combat interesting and dynamic. Wherever possible, I try to stray from the "There are 10 orcs. Fight." Instead, all my old World of Warcraft expertise kicks in and I throw encounters with strategies, phases, and surprises or distractions. I'm sure you'll see what I mean...soon...*evil grin*

I like the way you think, sir.

Well, in a way, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong those of you who have played through my combats, I kind of give a resolution based on the player's intents and my ideas of what the combat would look like. So it's kind of a hybrid of doing that while still allowing players a hand in it instead of just leaving it up to fate. Cause you never know when a player will pull something totally imaginative and unique out of their hat and make an encounter completely different.

Re: OOC Discussion

Well, I kind of feel the same, though if the players are capable of resolving rounds of combat relatively quickly (as they have been so far, in this game, as far as I can tell), it's better to leave combat to the player, as the DM could easily misinterpret a character's well... character, and do something that the player may not agree with, and that kind of thing can lead to tears... so, better avoided when possible, in my opinion.

Re: OOC Discussion

It's true.  I love the scent of a derailed DM.

It smells like....

Victory.

Re: OOC Discussion

Well, that's one form of victory.

Not, you know, OURS, but it's still victory.

Re: OOC Discussion

Ah hah! I knew Lakers sounds familiar...

Sorry, I'm not from the US so, you know, it's probably akin to if I started talking about the Dragons vs Tigers here (football clubs).

Btw, please help me out of the hole I've dug myself in the game... I shouldn't have walked out of that damn room -_-;

Dragons and Tigers? Football? They don't sound like any English football teams I know of... are you Irish?

Re: OOC Discussion

Australian. Football isn't an accurate description of the game. More like handegg.

Unfortunately, Australia follows the US in naming their sport. Soccer instead of football, and football instead of, I dunno, rugby?

Hahah yeah I thought you were from the US. Although, majority of the people here seem to be from the US so it's not necessarily because of your online time >_<;
