Hmm... so enough time for about 6 or 7 enchantments, and some spell circles... Sounds good enough.

Otherwise I would have bitten the bullet and made the mage level 14, using the 130 points or so to get just as many permanent enchants...

Re: OOC

Nick, I need to talk to you about the possibility of a meet spanning through the 14th and 15th. We would need to get to the GM's place by Friday, the 13th. My parent's are telling me that St. Cloud is too far out of the way for me to pick you up though.

Is your schedule flexible enough to allow for you to come down on Thursday or early Friday to meet with me so we could go? If so, would it also be possible for you to either get a separate ride home or have me drop you back off in the cities to get brought back home by your mom or something?

Its possible. It would eat into my pay this week, but I think I can scrounge around and survive. I also think I can get the ride, although to be honest it erks me. But that said, are we certain we can do this? Because I'd need to put the request in soon, and call my mom.

Re: OOC

That depends on when you ask.

If it was three weeks ago? Thursday through Saturday, 6-6.

If you asked me last week or yesterday? Monday through Thursday, 6-4.

Today? Tuesday through Friday, 6-4? When I wake up in the morning? Hell, I might not have a job.

Point being that I would get off of work at 4 on Friday, be able to leave by 5, maybe. And I'd have Saturday, Sunday and that next Monday off. Even if they do change my schedule next week, it wouldn't kick in until the week after.

As for the logistics? I still need to talk my mom into being comfortable with me driving up to a place I've never been through possible winter weather and pitch darkness. But if you can get the time off and we can figure out the transportation debacle, I'd say we're on.

Re: OOC

It occurs to me that we have a skill to discern information a person already has, Lore.

Would it be possible to use Lore to research a question in written records and tomes, or using Speech to gather information, which might grant a bonus to an immediately following Lore check?

Example: Johnathan meets an individual who stands out in a crowd multiple times. He does a Lore check to reference his memory regarding the appearance of the person to a name and succeeds. He performs a successive Lore check to cross reference the name with information he has come across concerning the name itself. His result, even after his Lore reroll is unsatisfactory. Johnathan uses his Speech check to gather information. He rolls a 25, and so he gains, say, a +10 to his next Lore check involving this character (Making the Normal Lore check a Simple one).

The Speech roll in and of itself in this example does not provide direct knowledge, it informs the check that indicates the knowledge (Lore), changing the difficulty of the check and essentially allowing a reroll (since new information has be gained).

If the Speech roll were to be subpar by the GMs standards, then it may not allow a reroll at all, or a reroll at a penalty (i.e. Sorrow does the same thing but rolls a 4, incurring a -5 penalty because he was given intentionally misleading information).

Re: OOC

Fun Fact: An Orcish totemist who starts with a base 5 Strength (7 with racial mods) only requires an adjusted Charisma score of 9 to have 20 Strength while in Spirit's Rage, provided they are at least level 15.

The same applies to a Dwarven Totemist who starts with 7 Constitution.

No external modifiers of the primary attribute whatsoever. In fact, if you 5 both the stat in question and Charisma, you only need a single major enchantment to Charisma to provide the desired effect. Further, any piece of equipment enchanted with a Moderate enchantment of the other stat (STR or CON) will push it from 4 to 7. In other words, for about 60 crowns (20 for a perm moderate, 40 for a perm major) you can make your Spirit's Rage cap STR and CON.

At 20th level, maxed CON on its own provides 400 HP.
At 20th level, any totemist can use Grizzly Totem with a rank 1 weapon, and they will deal 141 base min damage with 20 STR (20x7 from five totems and the base 2x multiplier, plus min 1 rolled damage)

The  system for crafting accessories would be a tangled complicated mess of numbers and material components that would dog down the current crafting system and make it annoying. On the other hand if I just made them craft able then there would be massive disturbances in the force, ask Andrew if you don't believe me.

Perhaps there will be craftables in the finished product but they would involve a rework of an already patch worked crafting system.

Re: OOC

And now for something completely different. A proposed card game to make gambling more interesting.

Dragon's Hoard

Dragon's Hoard is a card game played with a deck of 40 cards, four of each card from one through nine and four Dragon cards (Kings). Each player is given four cards at the start of the game. Each round, the player draws one card from either the discard zone or the draw pile and then either activates a card in their hand or discards a card from their hand.

When a card is activated, the player places it by them face up. Discarded cards are placed in the center of the table face down. Discarded cards are placed side by side rather than on top of one another. Cards that are activated by a player are their Hoard. A player may only activate cards and place them into their own Hoards. A Hoard can only have as many as four cards in it, and a player can have as many Hoards as they want.

A Hoard can be stolen if, before the owner's next turn, another player activates a card with the same face value. If a Hoard has only one card in it, anyone can steal it at any time by activating a card of the same face value and placing it into the Hoard or by activating a Dragon and placing it into the Hoard. Dragons are wild and a Hoardwith a Dragon in it cannot be stolen unless the Hoard's only card is a Dragon card and the second Dragon card is played by the stealing player before the owner's next turn.

The objective of the game is to have the most points. Points are scored from completed Hoard, and Hoards can be completed in any of the following ways:

A Hoard consists of all four Dragon cards: 10 points
A Hoard consists of all four cards of the same face value: 5 points
A Hoard consists of four cards of which three have a total sum of the other one: 4 points
A Hoard consists of four cards with different face values with a total range of just four integers, with all cards within one integer of at least one other (Straight): 3 points
A Hoard consists of two pairs of cards of two different face values: 2 point
A Hoard which is owned by the player after the final card is played which does not fit any other criteria: 1 point

When all cards have been played, the game is over and the points are tallied.

That batman thing was weird.

I kind of like the card game, but does it end when all 40 cards are in a hoard, when the draw pile is out, or do you re shuffle the discard pile into the draw pile to keep going?

You should also look into rules about cheating, and how certain skill roles will determine in game affects on the gambling game.

Re: OOC

The current idea would be that the game ends when all 40 cards are in a hoard. Once the draw pile is depleted, players will continue to draw from the discarded card zone every round until those are all gone. Once there are no discarded cards either, the remaining cards are placed into hoards to end the game.

Re: OOC

Day 1

I started on my Pokemon journey today! Professor Birch was getting attacked by a wild Pokemon, so I grabbed a Torchic from his bag and killed it mercilessly and save his life! He thanked me by letting me keep it, but told me I should go talk to his son Brendan who was waiting on the outskirts of the next town.

I named my new Torchic "Little Mac" to express his fighting spirit and we were off. However, I anticipated a battle, and so I brought Little Mac to the first patch of tall grass that I could find. For hours, I had Little Mac mercilessly kill the wild woodland creatures, with occasional naptime at Mom's house. Eventually, Little Mac evolved and, satisfied with the wave of carnage we had left in our wake, we moved onto the next town.

We soon found Brendan, and he asked me to spar with him. He sent out his Mudkip and I sent out Little Mac. He thinks that just because he's friendly and is the son of the professor that I will go easy on him. He was wrong. I had Little Mac set that Mudkip on fire, and wipe that smile from his face! He quickly fled to the town to heal his Mudkip and told me he was going to return to his father.

I returned to town and talked to the Professor. He gave me a Pokedex and told me to be on my way. I stopped to say goodbye to Mom and was off on my journey, slaying everything that got in my way or locked eyes on me. Little Mac's bloodlust would be sated, but it was never enough. He grew stronger and stronger. Soon, we were in a new town, where Dad was the gym leader. He didn't want to fight me though, instead he sent me to babysit some loser as he caught his first Pokemon. A Ralts! A psychic type... Little Mac and I looked at each other knowingly. This boy was surely planning on toppling Little Mac! But we let him continue for now. It will be better to ruin him after he has something to lose.

With nothing else there for me, I continued through the forest to the next town. The leaves of the trees were decorated by carnage and cinders as Little Mac and I emerged. We struck down some goon on our way and the worm he was attacking rewarded us with a Great Ball. Once in town, Little Mac crushed the gym leader in a flurry of kicks and we moved on. Another goon had kidnapped a Pokemon, it seemed, and so we went into the cave to teach him a lesson. The Pokemon's owner was thankful but quickly fled. We were then brought to the headquarters of a major corporation, where we were rewarded for our good deeds with errands and a map.

We were done with this pathetic landmass anyway. Little Mac's powers were too great. It had become impossible to capture more soldiers for my army even if I had wanted to! I made one last attempt to capture a Pokemon and finally caught a Wingull. I named him Rufflepants, so as to humiliate my foes as the jester of the seas slays them all! We then went to the old man's house and he sailed us to the next island. I immediately spoke to the townspeople who, as usual, had nothing of interest to say. Except for a little boy. He had the gall to suggest that some nonsense or another was "hip and happening" to which I promptly informed him that the truly cool thing was "Romantic Kindergarten." It was complete rubbish, but he bought it. Simple-minded fool.

Another man asked me if I liked fishing, and I lied, knowing that he would give me a free fishing rod. I went fishing and immediately found a Magikarp, which I named Filet-O-Fish. Truly, one day he shall be a delicious meal. I then reported to the gym, but the sign said something about waves. I anticipated a battle with water Pokemon, and so I continued into a tunnel near the town in search of wild Pokemon. In time, I caught an Abra -- which I inexplicably named Lewis -- and an Aron, which I named Hold Aggron due to my love of MMORPGs and puns. None of these Pokemon would help me against the likes of water Pokemon, but I had resigned myself. Little Mac would boil them all alive and eat them for dinner!

Then, after all of my effort, it turns out that it was a fighting-type gym the whole time! Little Mac mercilessly pecked every Pokemon in the gym into oblivion and I was soon another badge richer. Now, armed with the ability to light darkness, I returned to the cave to deliver a letter to an old man. I then returned to the company which had so forcefully commissioned my work and received an actual reward! Filet-O-Fish now holds it, and as it absorbs the souls of my foes he gains power! Soon... Soon...

Re: OOC

Day 2

We were in Steelport now, and it was time to deliver the Devon Goods to some guy that lived here. I challenged everyone on the beach and crushed them thoroughly, being rewarded with some Soft Soil and Soda Pop. Paltry tokens to appease me, but they will do for now. We then headed into the town proper, wandering around for a time. I stumbled upon a path that was blocked off by Team Magma, but happened to spy an Electrike in the grass. I caught it and aptly named it "Stole My Trike" before heading back into town.

There, I found Team Magma lined up to go inside some museum or another. They were obviously planning something, but the Powers That Be were not willing to let me stop them. Arceus does love to make Humans suffer so. I happened to find a large warehouse at this point, which was apparently where I needed to deliver my package to, but the man who was supposed to receive it was not present. Rather than leave it there, I was told to wander aimlessly until I found the clod myself to give him the package personally!

By now, the line into the museum was gone, and so I ventured inside. There, I was forced to pay $50 to enter the museum. No sooner had I entered than I had stumbled upon Team Magma once again. A sniveling worm who claimed that I had beaten him previously gave me a TM and scurried away with his tail between his legs, knowing full well what was about to happen. I cannot claim that all of them are idiots now.

I found the recipient of the package upstairs and no sooner had the goods turned hands than Team Magma had come to interfere. Their lives were forfeit. Their Pokemon were pathetic, but before I could finish the job some person called Maxie arrived to inexplicably tell me that Team Magma's goal was to expand the planet's natural landmass. I didn't care either to listen to the plan or to explain how stupid it sounded. I was interested only in burning down the entire museum with the morons trapped inside. Alas, they ran away too quickly, and so I was left with nothing to do except leave the museum.

At this point, I realized that Team Magma had likely ceased their barricade and traveled back to the road to discover that I was right. I spent some time there destroying the competition and claiming the wilderness as my own. That's when I spotted Brendan again. Him again...

I decided right then and there that I was to destroy him again, and so I captured an Oddish with the explicit purpose of destroying his Mudkip. I named it "Crab Grass" and started training. Soon, it was a Gloom, and I now had a Kadabra and Gyarados as well. Truly my victory would be glorious. Unfortunately, Oddishes are worthless and only know Absorb, so I was forced to destroy Marshstomp with Little Mac. Little Mac nearly died in the process -- a slight that shall not be forgotten. We are now in the next town, and preparing to challenge the next gym.

So, assuming it survives to the endgame, I'm trying to figure out my endgame moveset for Roselia.

Giga Drain
Leech Seed
Magical Leaf
Synthesis

Another possible set would be.

Giga Drain
Ingrain/Leech Seed
Solar Beam
Sythesis

The second set would be particularly good if I had a Sunny Day user in my party. This would make Blaziken even more beastly as well, while hindering water-type moves used against him. Right now the only drawback would be that my Wingull would do half water damage, and eventually my Gyarados's Hydro Pump would be weaker as well.

Of course, there's also the type coverage setup..

Giga Drain (Grass)
Sludge Bomb (Poison)
Shadow Ball (Ghost)
Synthesis/Magical Leaf

Re: OOC

Hmm... Then what about these setups.

Delay Game Roselia

Giga Drain
Leech Seed
Toxic
Stun Spore

Sunny Day Roselia

Giga Drain
Toxic
Solarbeam
Synthesis

Type Coverage Roselia

Giga Drain
Sludge Bomb
Shadow Ball
Synthesis/Magical Leaf/Toxic

They each have advantages. Delay Game uses paralysis to halve enemy speed and have 50% full paralysis chances. Leech seed does 1/16 HP every round, plus Toxic's cumulative. If you open with Toxic, then Stun Spore, then Leech Seed, they'll take 1/16, then 2/16 and Stun Spore, then 4/16, then 5/16, and finally 6/16 for a 5 turn wipe. If the opponent deals decent damage through paralysis, a Miracle Seeded Giga Drain will have a power of 66 and restore decent HP. Alternatively, Giga Drain could be swapped out for Sludge Bomb, for a 30% poison chance, causing three stacking DOTs. This works out great on Pokemon that aren't Grass type or Steel type, since Grass is immune to Leech Seed and Steel is immune to Toxic.

Sunny Day has 1-turn Solarbeam for a devastating move, and Synthesis for 2/3 heal in Sunny Weather. Giga Drain stays for support heals and damage, while Toxic is the DOT. Roselia's Grass/Poison setup and poisoning ability make it a good support for Blaziken's Fire/Fighting. They are also both optimized for Sunny Weather fighting this way.

Toxic isn't strictly necessary with the Type Coverage setup, since Sludge Bomb can cause normal poison and bust out Shadow Ball to lower SpD. This build relies on Roselia's pumped up SpA. This build can deal super effective damage to Grass, Psychic, Ghost, Ground, Rock and Water. Giga Drain provides some survivability. The fourth pick could be Magical Leaf for a reliable hitting Grass move, Toxic for the DOT effect, or Synthesis for more survivability.

Re: OOC

Ingrain's a good move since it heals on time and has great synergy with leech seed (2/16 heal every round). But it makes it so Roselia can't be switched out or retreat, which might bite me in the ass in a permadeath run.

Also, I am currently stuck on the screen debating if I want Magical Leaf. I can't TM it later, so I really need to know if I should stick with it.

Re: OOC

Oh, and if I really... really... really wanted to obsess over making an amazing Roselia, I could always breed with a Cacturne to get Spikes. A setup using Toxic, Leech Seed and triple Spikes would be devastating. 1/4 damage from triple spikes on a switch in, plus Toxic and Leech Seed would end up killing in 4 turns.

Status is a good way to go on Roselia, but if I was going to roll a status Roselia I'd have been better off EV training Defense or Speed...

Re: OOC

Day 3

I went to the next gym to challenge it, only to see Ralts kid arguing with his uncle about fighting the gym leader. He wasn't moving at all. He wanted to battle me to prove his strength, so I decided to placate him. His Ralts went down with a single blow from Filet-O-Fish. Pathetic. And it was his only Pokemon. Then he had the gall to say that being a good battler wasn't all it took to be a good trainer! What a loser. Doesn't he know that your worth as a trainer is directly measured by your prowess in battle?!

Anyway, I found out that the Gym Leader uses Electric-type Pokemon, and so I headed into the wild to find something with which I could brutally destroy him! In the process I found a Roselia and promptly caught it. His name is Kuja, and he shall replace that worthless Crab Grass. Grass types have a natural resistance to Electric moves, but it is not the ideal matchup that I was hoping for. At any rate, Kuja needs to grow stronger, and so I continue to ruthlessly slay wild and trained Pokemon alike in my search for power.

Ultimately, I failed to find any suitable Ground-type Pokemon, but Kuja had grown sufficiently powerful, so I took him to the gym. He crushed the competition, earning me my third badge. This journey is now nearly halfway over.

Re: OOC

Day 4

With my third gym badge in hand, and the ability to use Rock Smash, I moved up to the mountains to reach the next town. I tried to get into  the desert, but the sand was too strong, and so I was forced to go around. It seems this mountain was a volcano filled with fire-type Pokemon! This was a perfect opportunity to turn that useless Rufflepants into a killing machine! After about an hour or so he was more than ready to challenge the Fire-Type gym leader up ahead.

I continued through the ashy plains, slaughtering all in my path and crushing the trainers with my empowered Rufflepants. It was then that I heard that some professor was taken to some Meteor Falls by none other than Team Magma. I resigned myself to my fate and made my way there. The trainers and wild Pokemon were small fry, barely even worth a warm-up. When I arrived at the falls, Team Magma ended up being chased off by an equally goofy-looking Team Aqua. The Professor seemed surprised that Team Magma had tricked him into getting them a meteorite. He clearly can't be that smart.

Anyway, I then had to walk all the way back to town and to the mountain. I was able to take a lift car up to the summit, where I battled that Maxie guy from before. He was mostly a pushover, but one cheap attack nearly killed Lewis! I crushed his Golbat and quickly revived the Kadabra. If I ever see the son of a bitch again, I'll see that he pays!

With peace restored, I was finally able to get into the volcanic town, where I was given an egg for no good reason. I also battled with the gym leader there. It seems these leaders are getting easier as I go on rather than harder! As I walked out of the gym, who else but Brendan emerged a building. I thought it was an ambush, but he ended up giving me some macguffin for no reason before getting on his bike and leaving. Whatever.

With the goggles I was given, I am now able to walk through the desert sandstorms. I have since captures a Trapinch, which I have named Drag Queen. I remain in the Desert for now, to hone the skills of my Pokemon through ruthless slaughter.

Re: OOC

Day 5

I wandered the desert for some time, my Pokemon growing stronger by drinking the blood of their foes. By chance, I happen to spy two fossils atop a pile of sand. I grab the one which resembled a claw, for surely it was once a ferocious creature. I returned to the obsessed Fossil man nearby and he informed me that Devon had a way to revive fossils. With this in mind, I traveled back to their headquarters. I located a scientist there who had a device that could indeed bring back Pokemon with their fossilized remains. I gave him my fossil and he returned to me a Anolith, which I named "Armorant."

I then promptly returned to my training in the desert sands, but I grew ever so bored with it. It was then that I remembered that my Father had said something about fighting after obtaining a few badges. I headed back to Petalburg City to fight him. He was a pushover. He then told me that Wally's family had a gift for me, likely to earn my mercy. I went next door and was rewarded with the Hidden Machine which teaches Pokemon Surf. I immediately taught it to Filet-O-Fish and began exploring all of the waterways I had passed before and been unable to explore.

I crushed the swimmers, tubers, and assorted trainers who frivolously frolicked in the ocean. While making my rounds I discovered an abandoned ship and I explored it. It was filled with people, crawling about like rats. I challenged every one of them who had Pokemon and stranded them there with no way out. Contented with this and a few treasures I had procured for myself, I completed my trip from Petalburg to Steelport and then made my way to the road that would lead me to the other half of Hoenn.

On the way I encountered Team Magma again. It seemed they were tampering with the Weather Institute. It was no matter. Their woman leader fell with little effort on my part and I was rewarded with a Castform, which I promptly deposited in the PC before continuing on my way. I had scarcely left the weather institute when Brendan rode up to me on his bike and challenged me to a battle. He was easier than ever before -- all of his Pokemon fell in a single blow.

After he retreated, I pressed onward until I eventually found myself in to town built predominantly in the trees. Suppressing my urge to have Little Mac set the town ablaze in one blaze kick, I gathered some information from the townsfolk and made my way to the gym. There was some invisible force blocking the path, however, and so I resolved to move onto the next town for now.

On my way I encountered Stephen, who revealed to me that the invisible barriers near the town were Kecleon. I captured one and called it "Geico." Stephen then gave me the Devon Scope, which could reveal the hidden bastards rather nicely. I returned to town at once and revealed the pesky Pokemon, which immediately fled. No matter. I read the gym sign at this point and realized that the leader here used Flying-type Pokemon -- a type of Pokemon I distinctly have a lack of counters for. Thus, I continued on my way toward Lilycove City. As per usual, the peasants on the way fell under the glorious might of Lewis and Little Mac.

When I reached the town, the first thing that I noticed -- aside from Team Magma grunt openly discussing their plot to go to Mount Pyre -- was a house with a sign next to it. The Move Deleter. I took Filet-O-Fish in immediately to... free up some space. I then taught him Thunderbolt. My victory shall be swift and victorious! ... After a bit of training, of course!

Re: OOC

Day 6

Continued training proves to have made Filet-O-Fish a formidable tool of war. I stepped into the sixth gym and prepared for battle. Filet-O-Fish made short work of the smallfry, and with a little help from Lewis, the gym leader there was a pushover as well. With gym badge in hand, this town was now worthless to me, so I moved onto Lilycove. I found Brendan in front of the Department Store and he challenged me to a duel. It doesn't seem like he has gotten much stronger at all. He left saying something about helping Professor Birch with the Pokedex. He should probably consider a career change.

After perusing the Department Store, I decided I would investigate Mount Pyre, where Team Magma was supposedly going. It wasn't hard to find, and was only slightly more trying to climb. Maxie was there, having apparently stolen some important item. A blue orb. I was given a red one and told to stop him. I flew to Slateport City once again, arriving just in time to watch Team Magma steal a submarine and head back to Lilycove. I was a little irked by this, but I made an immediate trip back to Lilycove to find Team Magma's ill-hidden base.

I fought my way through Team Magma's goons once again, finding several useful items in the process. I ultimately arrived too late -- just in time to watch the submarine leave, in fact. But the Team Magma goon was nice enough to tell me where it was going. Unfortunately, I had no way to go underwater, so I was instead forced to continue my journey out into the ocean.

I eventually found myself on an island with a remote town on it. The first house I entered happened to belong to Stephen, who was quick to give me the HM for Dive. I wouldn't be able to use it until I defeated the gym leader in this town though, so I made my way there. The psychic-type Pokemon were cannon fodder to Drag Queen. A tag team of Drag Queen and Filet-O-Fish were able to defeat the twin gym leaders without a single scratch. I took my rewards and left into the open waters again.

I traveled the ocean, thoroughly diving and surfacing and retrieving numerous treasures. I even found a town hidden through an underwater passageway with an eighth gym. The doors were locked, and so I am forced to continue wandering until I find Team Magma. In my searches, I found a small floating town, and strong ocean currents beyond it. I traveled the strong currents multiple times, each time encountering different trainers and items. Eventually, I discovered a strange ruin with a cryptic language. I left it for now and returned to the town of Mossdeep.

I eventually discovered the place where Team Magma had gone and the abandoned submarine. I traveled through the cave and found a large fossilized Pokemon. Maxie appeared again and challenged me. I defeated him, but he awakened the Pokemon he called Groudon. Team Aqua charged in afterwards and we all left the cave together to discover that the sun was shining radiantly -- scorchingly. Stephen came to me just as Maxie and Team Aqua left. He told me to go to the town hidden in the ocean mountains. I flew there at once. I am now steeling myself against an inevitable fight.

Re: OOC

Day 7

Ready as I would ever be, I headed into the Cave of Origin. I found that there was little resistance from the native Pokemon, and quickly found myself in the molten core. There, the Red Orb seemed to react to Groundon, causing the massive Pokemon to attack me. Before it could do anything, however, I lobbed my Master Ball at it. I named the beast Scrambles the Death Dealer and left the cave at once.

I quickly flew to the fields in order to teach Scrambles how to optimize its attacks and survive harsh blows. As soon as it was adequately trained, I returned to town and gave it all of the candy I had amassed. I then headed into the final gym. I was faced with incredibly simplistic puzzles, equally pathetic trainers, and a gym leader who could not so much as scratch Scrambles. I was given the ability to climb waterfalls, an ability I gave Filet-O-Fish. It was now time to head to Ever Grande City, the final frontier.

After scaling the waterfall, I braved Victory Road, the greatest challenge I have faced to date. It took no less than three attempts to beat down all resistance and get me and my Pokemon through. Even then, once I approached the exit I was ambushed by that miserable Wally. It seems that after utterly crushing him he had went on to train his Pokemon to a level comparable to my own. With Scrambles completely incapable of putting up an offense, I was left to my other Pokemon. Ultimately, however, Drag Queen proved more than a match to his entire lineup. I left him defeated in the cave to head to the summit.

I regrouped with my Pokemon and restored their wounds, but I knew that if Wally had posed even a remote chance of threatening that I was not prepared for the Elite Four. Thus, I rigorously trained my Pokemon on the wildlife within Victory Road. Soon, the tough Pokemon that proved resilient on my way to the summit were no more than minor inconveniences. I was ready. At least, I certainly hoped that I was.

The first trainer, Sidney, posed little challenge. Between Scrambles, Filet-O-Fish and Little Mac I was able to take them all out in one or two strikes. The next trainer was Phoebe, a Ghost trainer. She required some more creative tactics to defeat, but ultimately Little Mac was able to do most of the work on his own. The third trainer was Glacia, and Ice trainer. Sky Uppercut was the only tool I needed to destroy her entire lineup. Finally there was Drake, the "Dragon Master". Scrambles merely needed earthquakes to take out most of his team. A well-placed Ice Beam from Filet-O-Fish felled his Salamence.

Finally, the champion turned out to be none other than Stephen! His team was pretty pathetic though. Earthquake took out most of his Pokemon in a single blow. When Metagross came out, Blaziken only needed to make a single Blake Kick to KO the Pokemon. Brendan showed up just after I defeated Stephen to try and give me pointers. What an condescending asshole. At any rate, Professor Birch followed afterward and they both congratulated me on my victory. Stephen then took me into the Hall of Fame to register my team.

Line of sight spells would be nice. So would lowering the level for certain class features, especially if you keep the xp reduced. Lower skill points for standard monsters/enemies. Maybe another spellcasting and/or totem based class. A slot on the character sheet for equipped armor and accessories... Maybe set up a full shaman system like the priest one.... I'm running out of ideas with that.

Re: OOC

I'd say so far so good. Most prices have remained the same, but for the most part the changes make sense.

Dagger/Arrows: Lowering the price is good because Arrows are always ammunition and daggers become more viable and disposable throwing weapons with the lower price.

Lights: 5 Torches to a penny works for me. A lantern and three oil flasks for a crown works too. Reduced magic torch prices are nice too. It means we won't be breaking the bank for torches or lanterns anymore. I'm a bit concerned that with lower magic torch prices people may just stock up on those instead of the even cheaper torches though.

Staff Prices: Significantly lower at the low end, slightly in the middle, and slightly higher at the end. It works. I think it keeps the staff prices more proportional to their power levels.

Another Potion Price Drop: Probably for the best. Potions are still grievously underused.

Three currency system as a whole: A good idea all around, I would say. It will make creating more mundane items a bit easier on the economic side. It also gives us a little bit of wiggle room with haggling low-end items and helps put the value of crowns a bit more into perspective.

Only things I noticed that I'm not 100% on...

Two handed weapons got more expensive: Not a huge issue. It's one extra crown, and two-handers are still damn powerful.

Light Armor Cheaper, Heavy Armor more expensive: Realistically, this makes sense. However I'm not sure how this price change will affect the metagame.

No Shield Price: Likely an oversight.

Re: OOC

I'm doing well. I'm finishing my last semester at College of DuPage, and I'm going back to the workforce. I applied to the Diagnostic Medial Imaging-Radiography program there, and I'll find out if I got into it in April. I've had my ups and downs with my health, as in 2013 and 2014 I had to withdraw from all my classes. I'm currently DMing for a group of friends I met at College of DuPage on Fridays, and I'm also living with my grandparents to help them out.

That's the short version, at least.

With this update I should probably mention a couple things; Great Strength completely negates Heavy Hitter as it gives twice the bonus and then some, and most reaction only take affect on secondary attacks which aren't very common outside of certain animals, unarmed builds, and ax users....

Re: OOC

Yes the heavy hitter and force of creation issues were a thing i knew about, and is currently being fixed. After for the reactions most mid to high level characters will be hitting multiple times a round, so there will always be relavance to some of the more... oddly specific reactions.

That being said reaction abilities will need to be tested to death. like literally till we want to kill them.

And then we kill them
