Re: OOC

Day 4

With my third gym badge in hand, and the ability to use Rock Smash, I moved up to the mountains to reach the next town. I tried to get into  the desert, but the sand was too strong, and so I was forced to go around. It seems this mountain was a volcano filled with fire-type Pokemon! This was a perfect opportunity to turn that useless Rufflepants into a killing machine! After about an hour or so he was more than ready to challenge the Fire-Type gym leader up ahead.

I continued through the ashy plains, slaughtering all in my path and crushing the trainers with my empowered Rufflepants. It was then that I heard that some professor was taken to some Meteor Falls by none other than Team Magma. I resigned myself to my fate and made my way there. The trainers and wild Pokemon were small fry, barely even worth a warm-up. When I arrived at the falls, Team Magma ended up being chased off by an equally goofy-looking Team Aqua. The Professor seemed surprised that Team Magma had tricked him into getting them a meteorite. He clearly can't be that smart.

Anyway, I then had to walk all the way back to town and to the mountain. I was able to take a lift car up to the summit, where I battled that Maxie guy from before. He was mostly a pushover, but one cheap attack nearly killed Lewis! I crushed his Golbat and quickly revived the Kadabra. If I ever see the son of a bitch again, I'll see that he pays!

With peace restored, I was finally able to get into the volcanic town, where I was given an egg for no good reason. I also battled with the gym leader there. It seems these leaders are getting easier as I go on rather than harder! As I walked out of the gym, who else but Brendan emerged a building. I thought it was an ambush, but he ended up giving me some macguffin for no reason before getting on his bike and leaving. Whatever.

With the goggles I was given, I am now able to walk through the desert sandstorms. I have since captures a Trapinch, which I have named Drag Queen. I remain in the Desert for now, to hone the skills of my Pokemon through ruthless slaughter.

Re: OOC

Yeah, I got it. I'd be pretty upset if I hadn't.

Today's playthrough has gotten me a few decent Pokemon, a lot of levels, and quite a bit of game progress. I'm also thinking of doing a no-grinding run of Emerald after this maybe. Not permadeath, just a run where I avoid purposely grinding and fight through the game underleveled...

It looks like my emulator might be able to record gameplay too.

Re: OOC

Day 5

I wandered the desert for some time, my Pokemon growing stronger by drinking the blood of their foes. By chance, I happen to spy two fossils atop a pile of sand. I grab the one which resembled a claw, for surely it was once a ferocious creature. I returned to the obsessed Fossil man nearby and he informed me that Devon had a way to revive fossils. With this in mind, I traveled back to their headquarters. I located a scientist there who had a device that could indeed bring back Pokemon with their fossilized remains. I gave him my fossil and he returned to me a Anolith, which I named "Armorant."

I then promptly returned to my training in the desert sands, but I grew ever so bored with it. It was then that I remembered that my Father had said something about fighting after obtaining a few badges. I headed back to Petalburg City to fight him. He was a pushover. He then told me that Wally's family had a gift for me, likely to earn my mercy. I went next door and was rewarded with the Hidden Machine which teaches Pokemon Surf. I immediately taught it to Filet-O-Fish and began exploring all of the waterways I had passed before and been unable to explore.

I crushed the swimmers, tubers, and assorted trainers who frivolously frolicked in the ocean. While making my rounds I discovered an abandoned ship and I explored it. It was filled with people, crawling about like rats. I challenged every one of them who had Pokemon and stranded them there with no way out. Contented with this and a few treasures I had procured for myself, I completed my trip from Petalburg to Steelport and then made my way to the road that would lead me to the other half of Hoenn.

On the way I encountered Team Magma again. It seemed they were tampering with the Weather Institute. It was no matter. Their woman leader fell with little effort on my part and I was rewarded with a Castform, which I promptly deposited in the PC before continuing on my way. I had scarcely left the weather institute when Brendan rode up to me on his bike and challenged me to a battle. He was easier than ever before -- all of his Pokemon fell in a single blow.

After he retreated, I pressed onward until I eventually found myself in to town built predominantly in the trees. Suppressing my urge to have Little Mac set the town ablaze in one blaze kick, I gathered some information from the townsfolk and made my way to the gym. There was some invisible force blocking the path, however, and so I resolved to move onto the next town for now.

On my way I encountered Stephen, who revealed to me that the invisible barriers near the town were Kecleon. I captured one and called it "Geico." Stephen then gave me the Devon Scope, which could reveal the hidden bastards rather nicely. I returned to town at once and revealed the pesky Pokemon, which immediately fled. No matter. I read the gym sign at this point and realized that the leader here used Flying-type Pokemon -- a type of Pokemon I distinctly have a lack of counters for. Thus, I continued on my way toward Lilycove City. As per usual, the peasants on the way fell under the glorious might of Lewis and Little Mac.

When I reached the town, the first thing that I noticed -- aside from Team Magma grunt openly discussing their plot to go to Mount Pyre -- was a house with a sign next to it. The Move Deleter. I took Filet-O-Fish in immediately to... free up some space. I then taught him Thunderbolt. My victory shall be swift and victorious! ... After a bit of training, of course!

Re: OOC

Day 6

Continued training proves to have made Filet-O-Fish a formidable tool of war. I stepped into the sixth gym and prepared for battle. Filet-O-Fish made short work of the smallfry, and with a little help from Lewis, the gym leader there was a pushover as well. With gym badge in hand, this town was now worthless to me, so I moved onto Lilycove. I found Brendan in front of the Department Store and he challenged me to a duel. It doesn't seem like he has gotten much stronger at all. He left saying something about helping Professor Birch with the Pokedex. He should probably consider a career change.

After perusing the Department Store, I decided I would investigate Mount Pyre, where Team Magma was supposedly going. It wasn't hard to find, and was only slightly more trying to climb. Maxie was there, having apparently stolen some important item. A blue orb. I was given a red one and told to stop him. I flew to Slateport City once again, arriving just in time to watch Team Magma steal a submarine and head back to Lilycove. I was a little irked by this, but I made an immediate trip back to Lilycove to find Team Magma's ill-hidden base.

I fought my way through Team Magma's goons once again, finding several useful items in the process. I ultimately arrived too late -- just in time to watch the submarine leave, in fact. But the Team Magma goon was nice enough to tell me where it was going. Unfortunately, I had no way to go underwater, so I was instead forced to continue my journey out into the ocean.

I eventually found myself on an island with a remote town on it. The first house I entered happened to belong to Stephen, who was quick to give me the HM for Dive. I wouldn't be able to use it until I defeated the gym leader in this town though, so I made my way there. The psychic-type Pokemon were cannon fodder to Drag Queen. A tag team of Drag Queen and Filet-O-Fish were able to defeat the twin gym leaders without a single scratch. I took my rewards and left into the open waters again.

I traveled the ocean, thoroughly diving and surfacing and retrieving numerous treasures. I even found a town hidden through an underwater passageway with an eighth gym. The doors were locked, and so I am forced to continue wandering until I find Team Magma. In my searches, I found a small floating town, and strong ocean currents beyond it. I traveled the strong currents multiple times, each time encountering different trainers and items. Eventually, I discovered a strange ruin with a cryptic language. I left it for now and returned to the town of Mossdeep.

I eventually discovered the place where Team Magma had gone and the abandoned submarine. I traveled through the cave and found a large fossilized Pokemon. Maxie appeared again and challenged me. I defeated him, but he awakened the Pokemon he called Groudon. Team Aqua charged in afterwards and we all left the cave together to discover that the sun was shining radiantly -- scorchingly. Stephen came to me just as Maxie and Team Aqua left. He told me to go to the town hidden in the ocean mountains. I flew there at once. I am now steeling myself against an inevitable fight.
