Re: A Game of Throws

Crossfire found himself wondering if there was such a tale of a man, woman and giant lizard in Navaho legend. It wouldn't surprise him.

Stifling a chuckle at Vibro's words to Cal, he frowned at her on the floor next to Ed. "Don't worry about that one. He was trying to escape, but I stopped him." Then he turned his head back to Cal and shook it. "Women and their bleeding hearts." Flicking a glance down to Cal's nether regions, he added, "You'll understand soon enough." If you live that long.

If Vibro was trying to help Ed the Guard, Crossfire could see she was doing it wrong. He decided not to say anything though. Women never liked to be told they were doing something wrong.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck ... fuck"

Vibro hadn't had any first aid training, but she knew from all the blood Ed was losing that he wasn't in a good state. What she didn't know was if his life was in danger or just his leg.

She looked for something to use as a tourniquet, remembering the numerous movies she had watched growing up, and decided on Ed's own belt as the best option.  Beyond that she could do little else to help the poor man who had risked his life to help his boss. A wry thought came to her as she finished tightening the belt above his wound.

I guess a casino is the wrong place to gamble your life.

"Ed, that's the best I can do for now, but I'll get you help. Do you know anything about WolfImLosingHopeThatIllEverSeeMyFamilyAgain's family being in the Penthouse suite?"

Re: A Game of Throws

"No." Ed shook his head, apologetic even through the evident pain. He cast a dark look over at Crossfire and the changed lizard, then seemed to come to a decision.

"But I know where it is. I'd take you there, but..." He didn't have to finish. It was obvious that he felt he couldn't walk, and already was beginning to pale from the blood loss.

The room itself, now that Vibro was beginning to see properly again, appeared to her like Jackson Pollock himself had come in with a bucket of gore and started a new masterpiece. There was hardly a clean spot on the floor anymore, and any one of the people inside would be lucky not to have at least a smear of blood on them somewhere.

Luck delivered a couple of inebriated young women just outside the front doors to the casino. One was holding the hair back of the other as she vomited violently. They didn't even hear Sgt Carnage approach. One of them had a long jacket on, which was fortuitous for him as he considered his reentry with Vera. Consideration would take too long, he decided. With a heave that took almost three times the effort of his dominant personality, he managed to shove both girls down face first into the vomit while holding fast to the coat.

His weapon strapped to his back and a long jacket now on to cover it, he ignored the disgusted groans, opened the front doors confidently and bumped right into the back of the entry security guard.

Re: A Game of Throws

"Don't worry Ed, I'll sort something out."

Vibro surveyed the blood splattered floor looking for a gun she knew must be lying around somewhere.  At least one of the security guards must have been carrying. She didn't have to look far.  A servicable looking, but bloodied, pistol lay not too far away, it's previous owner appearing to have lost most of the back of his head.

Disgusting

Trying not to think of the wanton disregard for life, and thankful at least that her time spent with her partners had certainly desensitized her to the gore and horror of such scenes, Vibro picked up the weapon and handed it to Ed.

"This might make you feel a little safer.  We'll tie this lot up, but if anyone looks like they are getting too creative, don't hesitate to use it."

And indicating to Crossfire she added. "Oh and don't worry about Captain numbnuts no more. In the heat of the fight, he might not have been thinking straight, but he's not a cold blooded murderer."

Hoping the gun was enough to give Ed the reassurance he needed, and that her words were enough to prevent him fruitlessly trying to extract revenge on Crossfire, Vibro turned her attention to her partners.

"Let's get the survivors bound up and get to that family quick smart.  Don't forget to take earpeices and mics from them, and make sure nothing is in reach."

"Hey, I couldn't be sure he wasn't on our side."

Turning back to Cal, Crossfire said conspiratorially, "Don't believe her about the cold blooded murderer thing." He winked, then went into action binding him up with the same wires Quikschizophrenic used for the girl.

Ed's hand found purchase on Vibro's ankle, though there was no malice in it. Once her attention was drawn, he nodded to the screens on the wall.

Vibro nodded in acknowledgement. "Thankyou, Ed."

"QuikCal, see if you can get the surveilance system to bring up the Penthouse Suite."

Squeezing Ed's hand, Vibro added. "And erase all trace of us.  No footage.  No logs.  No live feeds.  No archives.  No backups.  Nothing.  Do you understand?"

Re: A Game of Throws

"Is there really any use keeping Cal alive? He's outlived his usefulness. And you may have made his man parts useless anyway and it may not be worth living after that." Crossfire knew he wouldn't want to live if that were the case for himself.

"Come on Quik. Get to it. It's time we made like trees."

Fuck. Sgt. Carnage flicked his eyes back and forth, noting the other guards wandering the room. If he was even half the man he should be, he could probably take them, but like this, he'd be out before he could say "Don't bugger me." So he said the first thing that came to mind.

"Shit." And then, "Uh, there's some half naked chicks right outside hurling chunks all over the place, and somebody just shoved them into it all. I'd help but now I've gotta hurl too." He held his hand to his mouth and made a pained expression.

The large Native American barely looked twice at Carnage before sighing heavily and looking at his watch. He gave a look to the other guard only ten feet away.

"Tom, I'm gonna check it out." Then he moved to the door looking more than a little put out, opening it up to the sound of a distant car alarm.

Sgt Carnage smiled under his hand and hastened toward the back of the casino, still unsure of how he would get back through the door. If he didn't find where he dropped those keys, Crossfire wouldn't be too pleased, not to mention the reprimands of Crouching Tiger and Mini-Godzilla. They'd need to make an escape somehow.

Re: A Game of Throws

QuikCal looked down at his handy work.  The pliable but strong and non-elastic eletrical wires were perfect for the Silnariun suicide knot he'd just completed.

The Silnariuns were a foul-tempered, barbaric race and despite their large nostrils and 7 fingered hands, Quiksit had little good to say about them. Their diet comprised mostly of rotting vegetable matter, and the stench that invariably followed them was something Quiksit would not quickly forget. Furthermore, they were technologically backwards, one might even say techophobic.  Despite being on a prime galactic trade route, Silnar III, the largest and only inhabited moon of Ooldina in the Alphari System, preferred to retain it's heritage rather than adopt the alien technologies of those who frequented it's surface. To Quiksit, this was utter stupidity.

One thing the Silnariuns did do well, however, was tie knots. Their long, seven fingered hands gave them a dexterity well beyond most other races and not many non-Silnariuns had the patience or the ability to master the overly complex knot techniques ... Quiksit less so than most.  Any Silnariun present would have beat their chest in a show of utter contempt at the mass of wires that entangled the unconsious security chick, before launching into a fit of rage fighting anything and anyone within eyesight. Luckily for QuikCal and his companions there were no Silnariuns present.

Sadly, although servicable to restrain the prisoner should she awake and attempt to escape, the knot would never succeed in it's intended purpose.  Done properly, the knot was designed to be relatively loose and comfortable around the extremities, being adaptable for those with as few as 1 and up to as many as 10 limbs.  The ingenuity was that each loop returned around the captive's neck, and at the slightest movement, the loops would tighten on themselves, slowly cutting off the cirulation.  As the movements became more frantic and panicked as the victim realised their fate the binds would saw and constrict, occasionally even severing limbs if the right cords were used.  The Guusmen Acolytes of Chimpwa IX were the only known peoples to have mastered the necessary mental and physical control to escape the bonds.

Quiksit was relatively sure the security guard had never heard or of Chimpwa IX let alone studied with the Guusmen priesthood, so he turned to acknowledge Vibro's request confident the guard was suitably restrained.

Placing the tip of his left pointer finger over a usb slot in an undamaged area of the security console, Quiksit slowly and gently started rubbing in a smooth circular motion whilst whispering to the console,  "Hey babe, what do you say to doing me a small favour ... I'll make it real worth your while?" as the tip of his finger entered the USB port ever so slightly before retracting it again teasingly.

"Get fucked. And keep your fleshy digits to yourself. I'm shutting you out. Pervert." The computer seemed genuinely offended. And confused. It was possibly the first time anyone had made that kind of an advance on it.

The others heard nothing of course. They merely watched on as QuikCal utilised seduction techniques from an age yet to come.

Vibro wasn't exactly sure what QuikCal was doing with the security console, it seemed a little odd, but no stranger than other things she'd seen her alien lizard friend do.

I guess he just needs more time

When QuikCal grabbed hold of the console's stick microphone and started caressing it, Vibro started to suspect things may not be progressing down the path she had envisaged. When QuikCal lowered his face towards the mic and began thrusting it into his left nostril Vibro suddenly felt the urge to vomit.

"So fiddly... but this would be the camera we want..."
And with that QuikCal performed a double blick on the little picture...

Re: A Game of Throws

Against its better judgement, the advanced security monitoring system, Securicom Screwemall version 8.0 gave over to the manual commands, much to QuikCal's approval.

Above them, on the large screens, the pictures culminated into one large combined image of a semi-rundown hallway with a multitude of doors, all with brass numbers on them. It zoomed in to a set of large double-doors with an ornate hotel emblem on each and two black-suited men with obvious protrusions from underneath their jackets. The size of the concealed weapons indicated to Crossfire that they were semi-automatics. And like a cliché, both of the bulky men wore short-cropped hair and sunglasses despite the low-lit hall, one on each side of the door.

With the click of a button, the image split to show the inside of a large lounge room with plush furnishings and indoor plants. On the larger of the leather lounges sat a girl in her early teens, her legs curled underneath her as she gave her full attention to a large TV screen on the wall. Her darker skin and straight black hair confirmed her heritage as Native American, though the angle of the camera couldn't show enough of her features to confirm her lineage. After a few seconds, the camera widened to reveal an older woman of the same heritage walking through from another room, younger than the Blackwolf by at least a decade. She glanced casually at the younger of the two and then the TV before moving along to another young girl, older than the first by a few years. She began to talk to her while looking out of the window.

QuikCal tapped flicked another switch and engaged the facial recognition software. The faces of each were quickly matched to profiles showing Jenny Amitola, Heather Kimi, and Tammy Tala Shoemowetochawcawewahcatowe.

Vibro watched the images on the screen, trying to commit the floor layout to memory, but more than likely all but the most general detail would be forgotten before she even left the security control room. Vibro had gotten used to winging it, she rarely recalled the details of the mission debriefs, a fact she hated, but no matter how she tried, details just weren't her thing.

"That's great, we've got two goons on the door and three friendlies on the inside. Check for nasties in the room, and don't forget to erase ALL footage from tonight and stop any more recording. With how this has has turned out, there can be no trace of us."

Vibro glanced briefly to see how Crossfire was going securing Cal, before returning her attention to Ed. "Hang in there pal. Do you know what frequency the goons are using?"

Ed shook his head slowly. "Need to know... you know?"

As Vibro listened to Ed, a third guard approached the door, similar to the others but for the exception of the sunglasses and Tom Selleck style moustache. He spoke briefly to the two as he handed them each a coffee, then entered the room. Scathing glares greeted him from the females on the inside, to which he ignored admirably. His mouth didn't open as he moved to one of the empty sofas and made himself comfortable there. The ladies seemed to go about their business.

QuikCal glanced at the positioning of the three soon to dead men in the room. QuikCal wondered to himself just what form of death the Vibropath would inflict on the poor little pigeons.

Then he took a good look at the TV show that Black Mychildrenaregoingtoneedtherapy's family was watching. He tried to work out how long the show was likely to last for from the brief snippets.

"Time to move out like a big convoy of gory death"
, said QuikCal to the Vibropath and her boyfriend Crossfire.

Satisfied that Quiksit knew what he was doing with the computer system, Vibro turned her attention to Cal. "So Mr big shot security chief, what do you recommend we do next?"

In truth Vibro was less interested in what Cal had to say, more so in how he said it, hoping to get a good feel for his speech pattern should she need to impersonate him.  She kept Cal talking as long as she could whist Crossfire and Quiksit completed their tasks.

Do we split up or stay together? Would be handy to have eyes in here to guide us, but I don't think Ed's up for it.

Probably shouldn't leave him here... might need him in case Vibropath goes all nuts again... I can always hide behind his ironshod body. Should disable the computer system instead.

Now when I am done he mused, what is that command I need to type into the root directory, Delete *.*, something like that....

Re: A Game of Throws

Like an instrument, QuikCal was at first a bit rusty with the older technology. But once he found his groove, the controls seemed to give over to his every command.

The Blackwolf was found in a matter of a few short minutes, his face recognized by the software as soon as he came into view of the cameras. He had been talking with one of his own men under the dancing lights and booming sounds of The Buffet, still adequately replete with patrons.

Cal never stopped scowling but finally addressed Vibro's question. "Well, if I were you, I'd go fuck myself. Then I'd shoot him, and have him shoot the other guy, and then that guy could shove his red hot barrel up your cobwebbed little cunt. I'd get to it straight away too. No time like the present, you psychotic fucks."

The timing couldn't have been better. Well, maybe a little better. One of the Blackwolf's security had finally emerged from the access hall doors that Carnage crouched near. He had almost had to find another ploy beyond tying his shoe. Almost. Three minutes was an awfully long time to be tying your shoe, if you weren't a complete idiot. But once the guard was out, Carnage stumbled up and wavered, blinking at the guard before turning slightly as if to walk off. The guard eyed him briefly before conceding that he was just another drunk and looked away. That was his moment. Carnage slid quickly to the side in time to place his fingers between the door and the jamb, reopened it almost an arm's length and then slipped through quickly, pulling the door closed behind him. When the door closed, he darted around the nearest corner, flattened himself against the wall and listened for any following footsteps. His own breath was loud, so he sucked it in and held it.
