Patience is a virtue.  The Green Scaly one thought to himself as he awaited the return of the Vibropath, possibly with only the severed head of Crossfire's clone.

He idly watched the computer screens.

"OK big chief sitting bull, but we need to keep this low key."

Turning to non-commissioned officer Carnage, Vibro wondered whether they would all be better off if his head was to spontaneously separate from his shoulders .... but she had never been all that lucky in life, and that wasn't likely to change any time soon.

Never mind

Vibro followed DireWolvesHaveReallyLostTheirSignificanceInSeasonThree out of the locker room, pulling Carnage along with her.

Re: A Game of Throws

On the way out, Joe stopped just long enough to tell Tom that "It was on" and to be quiet and quick about it, patted him on the arm and watched him hasten off in the direction they had originally come. He glanced momentarily at Carnage, who was now twirling some keys around his finger with a satisfied smirk, and followed Vibro to the security control room.

They opened the door to find much the same scene as they left it. The color drained from the Blackwolf's face at the sight of it all, transfixed by the new decorations. He seemed like he might be sick, but when Vibro looked at him, he shook his head and waved her on.

Vibro grimaced, a little ashamed of the horrors they were inflicting on the Indian chief who was simply trying to get his family back safely. But her regret was short lived, and her resolve returned.

Fuck it, he can save his own goddam family if he doesn't like our methods.

Vibro confided to her companions, ensuring her words went no further than the tightly huddled group. "The chief has arranged a mutiny, his men are taking back the casino from the last of the Gay Elf's thugs as we speak." Vibro paused momentarily and then plunged onwards. "We've got one chance at this, time is running short." and she outlined her plan, stressing the need for urgency" And let's try to keep this clean, there are kids up there."

"I have memorised the floor plans from the computer, follow me".  Said QuikCal authoratively.

Then on the way to the door he said to the Chief Ihavethelongestbirthcertificateintheworld, "Ok lead the way."

Re: A Game of Throws

Led by Joe, the team made their way down the halls in a direction they hadn't been until now. Joe looked decidedly better once they had made a good distance from the control room, however began to pale again once they reached the elevators that accessed the adjoining hotel.

Once in the elevator, he began to take deep breaths, looking at the group with ill-ease. His hands shook a little.

"I pray this works. My boy says that you don't miss," Joe said to Crossfire. "For my family's sake, I hope he's right."

The elevator stopped at the 10th floor, the top. Joe looked to QuikCal this time and waved his shaky hand out to lead the way.

OOC- last chance to talk out the plan before going in. Crossfire, you didn't say so, but I'm assuming you've taken Vera from your duplicate. Also, check your duration, you may need to apply more points to keep him going. Everyone else take stock of your points, if you have any.

"Vibropa... ,er.. Vibro... I'll go in and head straight for the drinks counter and start making myself a drink. Wish they had oil on mini-bars, what is with that? Anyway while I make a drink they can't see my mouth so you talk like its over my shoulder and say something like, 'let the chief and the family have a little private talk together... they can use the master bedroom.  Chief, you have 10 minutes. We'll be right outside so no funny business.'"
"Then while the family is inside we give the guards jetpack training lessons. Crossfire, you did bring the jetpacks? No... Nevermind, I am sure they will work it out on the way down.".

"Should be as easy as talking the panties off the Dali Lama. Though I am not fully cognoscente why you would want to do that."

"Right, I think we have over planned this. Lets do it."

"Right, well, first we have to get past the outside guards. Walk behind me, as we approach say "Conjugal visit. Open up.". I'll make it sound like Cal, I've studied his voice pattern, no problems there. If they are slow to open the door, threaten to have them make a special guest appearance in the ring downstairs. Once inside we'll repeat the performance."

Turning to Crossfire, Vibro fixed him with a hard stare. "Keep that antiaircraft gun out of this, we're in a casino for fuck sake, its not Beirut."

In reply to Heraclitus (msg # 535):

No, you shouldn't worry about them, in fact probably best for you to just forget them altogether. Now isn't that better, not having that burden of worry weighing in your mind.

Re: A Game of Throws

Crossfire pumped some more juice into Carnage so he didn't inconveniently fad out and left him in the control room with Vera saying:

"Kill them if they act up, quietly if possible - but if they stay still and quiet here then let them live"

"Repeat back your orders so I can be sure you understand"

"Sir, don't kill em unless they move or call out, don't use Vera unless I have to, Sir"

Crossfire then clarified the plan with Vibro on their way to the lift and took his position at the end of the hallway bending light to render him near invisible and quietly floating to reduce the chance the guards in the hallway heard him get into position.

Rounding the last corner, the team could see the two bulky door guards, empty coffee cups at their feet. They seemed to be immersed in quiet conversation, of which only Vibro could hear.

"And then he said, don't turn your back to him. Never turn your back, or you'll get it for sure. I told him that just because you're a guard, it don't mean you gotta take it up the...wha? Yeah I see them. What? What floating guy?"

shit, bigger, bum, fuck

Vibro hesitated for just a moment if we change plan now its going to get messy, before proceeding.

The group covered the short distance down the corridor quickly. As they neared the guards, Vibro manipulated the sound of QuikCal's voice almost as it left his mouth, "Conjugal visit. Open up." in a tone that brooked no argument, whilst hoping QuikCal's expression matched.

Oh this is going well.... balloon-boy has just increased the body count, maybe that is why the Vibropath likes him so much.

Outwardly he smiled and stuck to the script.

Remember a human smile curls up he mused to himself, and he didn't want a repeat of that nasty encounter in the pub when I first arrived.

Re: A Game of Throws

With their varied training in combat, Crossfire and Vibro both noticed the subtle shift in stance that both guards took on. Instead of relaxed, it indicated a readiness for action.

The one on the right, who Vibro had heard speaking moments ago, tried to look around the group, though obviously distracted now by what looked like his boss and the order. The other one, however, held his position and remained silent, though he didn't make a move.

Finally the talker opened up, speaking to QuickCal. "Who's the new girl?"

"I don't pay you to think Squid Brain." mumbled QuikCal as he reached authoritatively for the door handle, not even looking up for an instant at Squid Brain. Then he paused, looked up and said, "Hang on, why you asking? didn't think you went for Thai lady boys..."
Then he opened the door saying to nobody in particular, "These days everybody likes chicks with dicks, what happened to Doris Day and I Dream of Genie."

Re: A Game of Throws

Vibro responded quickly to QuikCal's unexpected soliloquy, disguising his voice as best she could.  As the unrehearsed rant continued, however, it soon became evident that 2 minutes of interrogation and study of a subject's inflection and speech mannerisms didn't necessarily prepare her to impersonate Cal giving the President's Day Address. QuikCal's words trailed off into an unintelligible mix of Grunts and Snarls with the occasional swear word thrown in before Vibro gave up altogether and instead decided that violence, as is often the case around her two partners, was the best course of action.

Throwing up a sound barrier around the group Vibro prepared to prevent the nearest guard from drawing the weapon which was presenting an ominous bulge in his jacket as a bleak reminder at just how quickly a good plan could turn into complete shite.

Crossfire failed to spot the impending violence as he missed Vibro's subtle cue that she'd erected a sound barrier around the guards. He therefore failed to get off the first shot.

Re: A Game of Throws

The two guards hesitated, obviously confused and unsure of the situation. Their hands were in position over their pieces, and their mouths were drawn so thin that their mustaches completely hid them. The talker glanced at his partner.

That hesitation may have been just what the team needed to gain the upper hand and salvage a poor situation.

SR 13 for the guards. First up is Crossfire, then Quiksit, then Vibro. It's either a bloodbath again or you can try a startling roll of luck and a stroke of genius to try and salvage the situation. Remember, Joe is at the front of the pack and therefore in the line of fire. Crossfire, you've used some power points and should mark them off. Quiksit, what happened to the battle box?

Re: A Game of Throws

QuickCal upon hearing the Viborpath's clear attempt to start yet another fight decided to throw some more confusion into the guards mind, "Oh sorry boys, Glorfindel has me wearing this strap thing and it gives me a high pitch voice if I don't concentrate on it."
The voice he used was an absolutely perfect mimic of Cal's.  In every way perfect. He spared just enough of a gloating glance at Vibro to make it clear how proud of himself he was.

In truth their death will simplify our exit he thought to himself.
