Jawn was amazed at the setup, and he tried to remember what species the four-armed sentient was.

Jawn remembered that the species was named Xexto but that was all he could remember.

"Wow, a Xexto, huh?" Jawn said with admiration.  "I bet those four hands come in handy when running a ship with a skeleton crew."

The Xexto turned his head and gave Jawn a wearied look.

"Yep," he responded before returning to his job.

"Frango can be kind of grumpy sometimes," Nell explained.  "A lot of the ship relies on him so he's busy all of the time."

"And probably under appreciated," Jawn added.  "Say pal, howsabout I grab you something from the mess hall and bring it up later?" he asked Frango.

"I'd appreciate that," Frango replied.

"Anything in particular you like?" Jawn asked.

"I know his favourite," Nell said.  The two left and headed to the turbolift.  "Let's get you checked out by the doctor and then I'll show you where you'll stay."

"That sounds good," Jawn agreed. "My head is pounding.  And not for the usual reason."

Nell showed Jawn down a floor to the medic to have him checked out.  The Medic was a Mon Calamari, Rima.  She treated Jawn for smoke-inhalation and cleaned up his wounds.

"So, what's your story?" Jawn asked the medic.  When she gave him a questioning look, he added.  "Why did you join the Rebellion? 'Cuz to be honest, I'm just here for the money and the perks."

"My planet was seized by the Imperials and all my people enslaved," the medic replied, rolling a device across his forehead.

"Yeah, I guess that would do it," Jawn concluded.  "I'm sorry about your people.  And thanks for checking me out," he added.

"Not a problem."  The medic rolled a device across Jawn's forehead then looked at the reading.  "Well, you're all done, kiddo.  Stay safe out there, I don't wanna be patching you up."

"Don't worry, I'll try and steer clear of any trouble," Jawn replied, tipping his hat before he put it back on.  He found Nell  and asked "So, what's next?"

"Your room," Nell said.  She took Jawn down another floor.

"This is the dormitory floor.  Everyone has their bunk here, except me.  I've put you on the far end, no one else is bunked there so you can have some privacy.  Just let me know if you want to move closer to everyone else."

"Nope that sounds fine to me.  The only person I'd want to move closer to is maybe you," Jawn ventured, while giving Nell a sidelong glance.  "Why do you get to bunk somewhere else?"

"Because of questions like that," Nell said, laughing.  "Honestly though, it's my ship.  I bought it, the Alliance modified it and crewed it."

"Ah, so you're the captain," Jawn observed.  "Well, captain, requesting permission to retire," he continued giving a mocking and casual salute.

Nell laughed.

"Permission granted."  Nell left and Jawn was free to go into his bunk.  Jawn saw that it was a Spartan but comfortable.

"So you're the one."  Jawn jumped and turned to see an older woman in brown robes standing in the shadows of the room.  "You're not what I was expecting.  There's something off about you."

Jawn immediately drew his blaster, but held his fire.  Two parts of him warred over whether it was good or bad to find a strange woman in his bedroom.  "Who are you?  And what are you doing in here?" he asked, keeping his blaster trained on her midsection.

Jawn's blaster was wrenched from his grasp and flew into the woman's outstretched hand.

"Did you think I'd come to you here if you could hurt me?" she laughed.  "Now please, sit down.  You may call me Cora."

Jawn flexed his sore hand as he stared at it.  He looked back at the intruder, defiantly remaining standing.  "Well you've answered one of my questions, Cora.  But you still haven't told me what you're doing in my room."

"I'm here to see who the new crew member is," replied Cora, cryptically.  "What brings him here.  What about him compels him to greatness."

Cora moved closer to Jawn then reached out her hands and traced the lines of his face.

"I see," she said after a minute.  "Poor fools.  That's what happens when one has an incomplete understanding of the Force.  No matter.  All will work out in time, I'm sure."

Jawn brushed her hand away from his face.  He wanted to make a comment about how there was nothing great about him, but settled for "Lady, you better start making sense real soon."
