CCG - Damsels, Divas and Deathtraps

Card Game Rules, and card design guidelines.

For the curious, these are the working rules in play for the imaginary card game that i've been rendering for.

Deck Construction.

The card game may be played with as few as two players, but plays best with multiple players.

A 'point value' determined ahead of time by the players.  A value between 10 and 20 is suggested.  The higher this value the longer it will take to reach a game resolution.

There are several types of cards that will be used during play.

You will build a 'team' to use in the game.  Team used may not exceed the agreed upon point value of the game.  All your character must be unique (used on the team once) and either have a blue border (Divas) or red border (Dastards).  [It's okay to have multiple copies of the character in the game (perhaps from different players), but not on the same team]

Character Cards - These are the personalities in use by the player.  They are divided into 'Divas' (The superheroines) and 'Dastards' (the villains).  Each Character Card has a value, which is denoted in the Upper Left hand corner, between 1 and 10.

A value of 9 or 10 denotes a truly well known character with fame or infamy beyond the city they operate in.  A powerful character to build a team around.

A value of 7 or 8 denotes a well character with notable influence in the city of their choice.  A good choice to build a team around for small point total games, or to support the leader in bigger games.

A value of 4 to 6 denotes lesser character that often used to support a more powerful character.

A value of 1 to 3 denotes lesser characters of limited use that are selected to round out a team.

Also noted on the card are four numbers on the upper right hand corner that are a general indication of how formidable the character is.

The top most card is 'Power'.  This stat is used in 'Combat' to determines the characters capabilities.

The second row number is 'Toughness'.  This stat is used to determine how much physical punishment and abuse the character may receive before being rendered 'unconscious'.

The third number is 'Willpower'.  This stat is used to determine the mental fortitude of the character before they are 'tamed' or 'surrender'.

The last number is 'Resources'.  This stat determines the resources available to the character.

Below the characters portrait is the 'Tag' line, which will list a few words that pertain to the character.  Certain cards require a character to have a 'Tag' before being used.

Text Box - Character specific rules (if any) are noted in this box.

General card guidelines.

Some cards have two facings.  One to represent their Secret Identity (Damsel) and the other to represent their Super alter ego (Diva).
