Re: Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)

"Woah now, let's not get ahead of ourselves. If Ori sticks around, I'm sure she can get through the Siths jammers. Then we'll see if Wromm needs our help or has other orders for us. No sense flying into something blind if we don't have to," Helene interjects, before suddenly blushing lightly and hurriedly appending, "No offense, of course."

Shanda laughed softly, "Oh I well understand I am in no hurry to walk that battlefield again, cutting through the jamming is indeed far more a preferrible option I agree. And no offense taken, just because one is without eyes does not mean one cannot see."

Re: Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)

Though Helene had grabbed the pad, Hector shifted closer so that he could lean over and read it himself.  He didn't get very far; once he got to the part that said he and Oriana were free and clear - 'upstanding citizens' was the text, which he figured had to be a bit of a joke courtesy the good General Garza - he let out a great whoop of excitement.

Whether Hector had misinterpreted Oriana's eyebrow quirk, or was feeling particularly ecstatic (for those who hadn't yet become aware of anything between the two) was anyone's guess.  More likely, he was simply feeling particularly roguish.  Upon meeting her gaze, Hector swooped over, slipped one arm around her waist, the other around he back, and pulled her down into an almost romantic dip, complete with a kiss that lasted more than long enough to earn a 'get a room' comment if anyone was so inclined.

Though he probably could have gone longer, he decided to let Oriana go upon hearing a whistle from a squad of troopers not far away.  Of course, he pulled her back upright first (it was bad form to drop a lady after all).  He then glanced around, grinning still. "Might be able to see, but I bet you can't tell why kids love the taste of Farrberry Crunch."  He paused for a moment.  "Oh, did I say that out loud?  Well then."  Turning away, he put his hands to his hips for a moment and looked around, breathing deep to take in the air of freedom.  Then, Hector turned back.

"So!  Guess you guys could still use a ship, huh?" He considered that, as well as the debacle with his own ship, still likely sitting in an impound lot waiting to be picked up.  Given the likelihood of shooting if they were to continue, and the competence of the Skyfisher... as loathe as he was to admit it, waiting to get his ship back was the sensible option.  "I guess I could stick around, bu I do have a price."

"Some things are better left a mystery Hector." Shanda chuckled watching the pair with some amusement.

Re: Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)

Oriana laughed, amidst a bit of sputtering for breath, once Hector set her back on her feet, and likely to the surprise of everyone present actually blushed.  Not a delicate pink, but an honest-to-goodness bright red that spread across her cheeks in the wake of the whistling from the troopers.  For a moment, she ducked her head in a lame attempt to hide the blush and the huge grin that accompanied it, before giving up with a laugh and a sheepish rub at the back of her neck.

She shoved a hand through her hair and turned her lopsided grin on her partner in crime - or well, now perhaps not, at least for the time being - while attempting to get her glasses settled back into place atop her head.  "Looks like they  do need a ship.  On the other hand, I seem to have a ship, an' no pilot," she commented with a shrug, although she failed miserably at toning her grin down even the tiniest bit.

"What d'ya say, Terrachova?"

Re: Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)

Duran blushed with Oriana, but perhaps not for the reason that many of the troopers might think, with a glance towards Helene then Shanda he chuckled,"It's a deal Captain, you can keep the Techie. Did you want a room to go with her?"

Shaking his head his fingers slid down to his lightsaber while the other hand tugged nervously at his robes, lowering his face to them he seemed to be wiping something from the side of his mouth or sniffing at them it was hard to tell but his blush deepened as he shrugged at Hector,"If you are thinking of something other than her, well you're talking to the wrong people...all I have is the clothing I'm wearing and the lightsaber my master gave me..and technically that's not even mine."

His hand reached up to tug on his padawan braid as he grinned at the Captain,"But I do hope you take my first offer and join us, we need someone who can actually fly...and another man in the group makes me feel more comfortable...most of the time." He glanced at Oriana at the last, still a little discomforted by all the kissing and such.

Helene snickers, her mouth quirking into a half smirk as Hector dipsnogs Oriana. Her hands fold together properly in front of her, in that picture perfect practiced way that accompanies her posture and other such trappings of her birth.

"I'm going to assume Hector will take you up on that, Oriana, since he's the type that knows what's good for him. So then, what's the price?"

Re: Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)

Hector took a few moments to admire his handiwork; to this point, he had never seen oriana blush like this, and to be completely honest, he hadn't thought it was possible.  It was a pity he hadn't brought a camera, as this would have been a perfect picture opportunity.  Eventually, he was able to tear his eyes away from the marvelous sight.

"Goes without saying, Oriana m'dear,"
he said, before glancing to the others.  He didn't quite have a reply for Duran; given that he would be Oriana's pilot as he had been to this point... well, he had already moved into one particular room.  There was still another matter on the table though, which Helene finally addressed, much to his delight.  He gave his best smuggler grin.

"Now, the price.  If you want me to cart you all around this war-torn planet... y'all are gonna have to tell me how great I am.  Best choose your words carefully, I don't give points for effort."

Re: Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)

She couldn't resist.  Oh, that was just too good.  Oriana wasn't able to stifle the immediate desire to laugh, and as she shook her head in disbelief - really, that was perfect - she flashed a grin of her own at Hector.

"Hm."  A thoughtful noise escaped her, and she turned and took half a step back, for a better view, then made a point of rather deliberately eying her fellow scoundrel from head to toe, as she tapped the tip of her index finger lightly against the hilt of the massive blaster on her hip.  Those that didn't know better might wonder if she was attempting to decide whether to shoot him, or acquiesce to the request.  Of course, Hector did know better.

"Nah."  She pulled her hand away from her weapon, and quickly closed the distance between them.  In a single practiced gesture, Oriana reached up and slid her hand over the side of Hector's face, her fingers skimming smoothly through his beard until she could hook them into the divot beneath his earlobe.  Ignoring the lingering traces of her blush that threatened to flare up again, she tugged his head down as she stretched up on her toes, thankful for the fall of hair that hid her lips pressed up against his ear.  "You are still fast and dangerous, and you know how I feel about that.  But you'll just have to wait until later to hear the rest of my thoughts on how great you are," she teased, before dropping down from her toes and reluctantly peeling her hand away.

For a moment, Oriana just stood there and grinned, although she did respond to another catcall from the troopers nearby with an easily-recognized hand gesture - without even glancing in their direction in the process.  Then, with a wink, she took a step back and spun on her heel, intent on heading back the way they'd come.  "Bedibec!" she called out, snapping her fingers to get the lieutenant's attention as she walked off, her purposeful stride eliciting the metallic clinking of tools with every step that seemed to be her signature.  "Come on! Let's go find your boss, see what she needs."

Re: Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)

"Take care," offers Seely.  With that, the three (now former) members of the group head off in search of a commanding officer, and are quickly lost in the hustle and bustle of the spaceport.

The Lieutenant, who was about to go with them, has a wave of indecision wash over his face.  "Uh," he stammers, watching the others disappear into the crowds.  Finding Oriana's assertiveness difficult to work against, all he can come up with is, "All right," as he falls in line behind her.

Duran could only smile at Hector and shake his head,"Well you're honourable, a great pilot and not to shabby with the ladies....is that good enough. Let's head off then, I think it's about time we actually did something I was trained to deal with."

With a chuckle he stepped up behind the Officer, and looked at Shanda and Helene,"Well ladies, shall we go?"

Shanda inclined her head slightly as her attention shifted to Hector, "As Duran said you are true to your word Hector, beyond that I know very little of you. Certainly not enough to sing praise that would not sound hollow to you. If such is not enough to meet your price that will be unfortunate, I would welcome the chance to see what Duran has of you. I ask humbly for the opportunity."

Re: Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)

Helene watches Oriana rise to Hectors challenge with a slight smirk, having expected something of the like might occur. Then the Jedi give in, and that smirk of amusement changes slowly into an incredulous expression with one eyebrow raised higher than the other.

"If you think I'm stroking your ego even further with Oriana all but promising a much more personal form of stroking, you're crazy," she informs the scoundrel pilot with a grin, and then turns on her heels and marches after the others.

Re: Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)

Oriana's response was... enlightening, and his grin grew a little bit at hearing (and seeing) it, although he hadn't actually been looking to her to pay his price.  As far as he was concerned, her 'bill' had been paid in full already on this matter.  He wasn't surprised that the Jedi said what they did; Duran had humored him with vocabulary expected of a Jedi... and Shanda was still Shanda.  A pity.  And then Helene...

"I'm afraid that's just who I am, milady,"
he replied, with an exaggerated shrug as he fell into step alongside Helene.  "I run on my ego.  Without it being stroked by beautiful woman on a regular basis, I might lose confidence, and the next time we need to dodge through a city we might end up checking into a penthouse suite a little earlier than planned."

The group makes their way back to the hangar bay, Republic lieutenant in tow.  They take the lift back down to where the Skyfisher was docked.  The lift dips beneath the floor just above and the bay comes into view.  All is as it was before, except for the humanoid figures scurrying about.  Two of them are on top of the freighter, hunched over, while yet others run about beneath.

"Hey Bedibec, I didn' think you had any support crew left here?" Oriana jerks her head in the direction of the figures scurrying over the Skyfisher.  It's a little odd, but not immediately so...after all, this is a spaceport, and those do tend to come with mechanics and refueling crews.

Helene rolls her eyes at Hector, a motion that seems like it will be a rather common occurrence. When they get close enough to see figures scurrying about the ship, though, she spends less time looking at them, and more time bringing up her comlink.

"GiGi? Who are those people outside of the ship?"

"He did say that... might want to check the compartments when we get in, make sure everything's still there."  All told, Hector wasn't as worried as he probably should have been.  It wasn't technically his ship, and he was still rather pleased with the fact he'd be able to get his ship back sooner than he'd expected to.

Re: Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)

The lieutenant is distracted, and doesn't bother to look until he hears Oriana's question.  Stepping over to the edge closer to the ship and taking a gander, he frowns.  "No, ours was largely a troop movement, little to no support staff for ships.  And the civilian crews had abandoned the place."  The lift continues to descend, and will reach level with the bay's floor soon.

[Private to Shanda Rell: You easily identify the figures as Selonians.  They're poking and prodding at the ship, and in some places have a panel open and seem to be pulling things out and examining them.]
[Private to Dame Helene Decrilla: You can't make out many details yourself, and when GiGi responds, it's to say, "People, what?  Sorry, I was doing dishes.  I assumed someone was refueling the ship."]
[Private to Duran: The people are rodent-like humanoids, and most of them appear taller than the average human.  They seem to be scavenging what they can from the outside of the ship.]

Duran shook his head,"They are rodent people, they are savaging the ship, stealing parts from the outside. They aren't in it from what I can tell...they are going to cripple her soon, if I'm not mistaken you never managed to finish fastening the panels over the Engine, Ori?" His voice was calm but his hand dropped to his lightsaber as he tried to estimate the distance to the ground, the ship and the amount of wall he could run along to get there, he had to stop them before they stole something they couldn't afford to lose.

"Indeed they are natives fighting the Sith in the caverns below. They are likely trying to salvage parts for thier fight from what appears to them to be an unaffiliated craft." Shanda confirmed keeping her hands inside her robes, "While we should definitely stop them I would not be so quick to harm them, they provided assistance to us when we were forced to cross the planet through thier tunnels, if we drive them off by force and need to use thier tunnels again we might find such access blocked to us."

"Oh bloody- GIGI! Go into the cockpit and start the engines! That should stop them from mucking about in them until we can get there," Helene commands through her comlink, and then sighs.

"Let's just hope we can reason with them. War makes people do crazy things."
