Chapter Two: Tunnel Vision (Corellia)
The group has begun their trek into the caverns. It's a fairly wide cavern, making the journey comfortable at least in that respect. It is, however, pretty much pitch black. That said, as you progress, it's easy to begin to wonder if Imperius was just trying to scare you with these stories about rodent people.
After about fifteen kilometers, at which approximately three hours have passed, the cavern narrows a bit, and you think you can hear the sound of running water above the repulsor's humming. For the entirety of your trip, the cavern has generally run a pretty straight course, with the occasional turn, dip, or incline. Every once in a while you'd see a mark or indentation in the rock that looked off, but closer inspection never revealed evidence of any presence but your own in the dark. It's still chilly and the air definitely feels quite moist.
Sure enough, after another hundred meters or so, you come across an underground river which cuts perpendicularly through the cavern you'd been traversing. Looking down either direction does not reveal much but 30 meters into where the water has been and 30 meters down where it's going. It's running pretty fast, but may be geologically recent, as it does not appear very deep.
[Private to Serina Ryo: From what you know of caves, this is a very odd occurence. Water spilling into this cavern from another would likely have just met a wall and followed the path instead of carving a new one. Likewise, the cavern you've been following likely had some water of its own at one point, probably dammed up somewhere on the surface.]
Basically, you're at a crossroads of sorts, with a shallow river forming the cross street. It's not running fast enough to sweep anyone away, but it could be slippery. The repulsorlift shouldn't have any trouble. On the other side of the stream, the cavern continues on into the dark.
