Sorry for not posting in the past two days; it's my first proper week as a full-time university lecturer (courses started this week here), and I find it rather demanding... I think I should be able to post on Friday [GMT] (perhaps earlier).

Congrats on the lecturer position.

We had a new lecturer/professor this semester and it took him some weeks to truly get settled. I'd imagine it will not be until next year (and the next class) before he really finds his style and feels comfortable.

So, as you might have heard, there's a rather large storm barreling up the US's eastern seaboard. That happens to be where I live. I'm somewhat south of the projected landfall site, so I'm hopeful I'll miss the worst of the effects, I could definitely lose power and/or internet in the next few days, and if I do, there's no telling when I'll get it back. So if I suddenly vanish come Monday, that's the reason, and I'll be back as soon as power is restored. Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up.

@Taeghen: Thanks, it is really quite demanding at the moment... The next few days will be even more stressful, I fear...

@DM: All the best for you and all people affected - I hope the storm won't be as severe as predicted!

@ Elorfindar: No worries, you put in the effort and had the knowledge to attain the position to begin with, you'll be fine.

@ DM: Same here, except I'm slightly north of the storm's landfall. Subway and transportation is closed for tomorrow and Tuesday. I just hope there's no flooding and the power grid stays intact.

@DM and Taeghen: all the best for both of you - I am following the news and hope it won't be too bad.

FYI for our non-Americans, this Thursday is Thanksgiving in the US. I'm going to be going out to visit family in the Midwest, which involves all day driving Wednesday and Sunday. I'll bring my computer, so it's possible you might see an update or two in the days in between, but don't expect anything verbose.

If Elorfindar and Taeghen haven't posted by end of day today I'll DMPC both of them and move on to the next round so that you can have the rest of the week to ponder and post your next actions. :)

Going out of town for Thanksgiving, and this will probably mean that I'm at the computer more than usual since I won't be at my own house to work on stuff.

Dear all, apologies for not posting more in the past few days: I simply have to work a lot at the moment. I expect that it will be better from Thursday evening onwards.

Will try to post tomorrow night, if I'm not too out of it, in that case I will post on Saturday. I have to prepare for my penultimate rotation session. Between the last rotation (right before the holidays), miscellaneous tests, and final exams over the next two weeks I may be less steady with posting than usual. I won't be absent entirely as there are breathers and moments in between major assignments and exams, but I have to skirt around them.

I will very probably be without internet access until at least the evening (CET) of Tuesday. I already wish all of you a Happy New Year!

I'm back from an extraordinarily tiring weekend.  Should be posting this evening.

As mentioned in the other game thread, I've been hit with the flu hard.  I'm sitting up trying to get semester grades together for my kids (due tonight) and try to get a substitute assignment together so that I don't have to go to work tomorrow.

I caught some upper respiratory bug around Christmas, took me two weeks to feel okay, still dealing with a cough now.

One of the (very) few good things about working remotely is that I don't have to worry as much about catching bugs from coworkers or while commuting.

Of course, it does mean I occasionally look up and go, "Hold on, I haven't left the house in three days!" Sigh.

I will be on holiday for two weeks from tomorrow on, though should have internet access (and thus be able to post) every day for the first week. It is unclear how frequent I will be able to access the internet between Saturday 23 March and Saturday 30 March, but it is quite possible that I will be offline for most of that time.

Apologies for having been largely absent from the game during my first week of holidays - my evaluation of how often I could post/access the web was simply wrong. Thanks to the DM for taking over! Our B&B in Cornwall unexpectedly offers free WiFi, which means that I should be able to read and post in the evenings (GMT).
