Re: OOC

New player coming onboard.

Will need some time to set them up, skill them up etc. I will probably run an IC "time bubble" thread for him while the main squad is finishing Hell Week.

Re: OOC

Brygun,
Good to hear we've got a new player joining the Squad.

New Person,
There is a lot going on in this game, but don't let it throw you. Most of the detail you don't have to know instantly. You can take things in, bit by bit, as you go along and one of us, player or Gm, will give you any assist you might need.

Re: OOC

True on that just stick to what your job is and feel free to comment and add idea, I do much to the loathing of other players. But I'm a roleplayer the little details matter to me.

Re: OOC

But GM this game sucks bad? Want me to lie to the new player? :/ just kidding

lol

Seriously the roleplaying if good just wish people could post a bit faster its frustrating but its better than many RPOL games at least its not "dying slow" at this time. The other players are nice to.

Re: OOC

Its always one of the other criteria for your "good game" to have a match in posting rate. I'm a one+ a day person which is great for GMing. When I try player side its one of the frustrations when others aren't posting that much. Others prefer the 2 a week sort of pace. That doesn't really jive with me. During the day, while driving or in spare moments I like to think of the game(s) and what to do next.

Re: OOC

It does happen that folks can get too busy at times. There is also a huge ass storm hitting north america where several of us are. If need be I'll make a GM call on the deployment if Echo is unable to post in. He's been checking so I'm assuming he is busy or weather born. As one of our actually serving people it is quite possible his real life unit has extra demands on his time right now.

Re: OOC

I've been checking in on my phone. I had a 5 page paper and a 10 minute speech both due today, and as of friday, hadn't started them so this weekend was a wash for me. Posting now. Remember, I'm currently in college, the military won't become a factor again until December.

Before rushing off Boomer wants to get some of you armor piercing ammo clips to trade out with her, its PA we are moving on it would be best each team have one person so armed. Just in case.

Re: OOC

That is a big variable. Computers might be part of a low level network or connect to a base mainframe. Since this is the computers of your own army... some things you can guess at are:

EAch AA station likely has a computer link to receive data. The link may or may not allow remote control of the AA weapon. Since planes and starships like to shoot AA the AA at times does have hard (physical) datalines running somewhere like an underground armoured bunker.

The artillery definetely has a data link for recieving targeting information. Whether the weapons fire or not is usually a local control for safety reason. (ie. no one is standing in front of the barrel at the time)

Computers at gates are almost always low key. They recieve various data feeds on who to let in and schedules of activity. They control only their local gate.

In bedrooms computers vary from low to medium level access depending on whose it for and what they wanted. Never a master all-base control in a bedroom.

A base mainframe (or main station) will be near the CiC (Control and Information Center) which might be in a building or in an armoured bunker. It can often initiate a lock down of all gates though may or may not be able to remotely open them.

Re: OOC

Will you stop rushing me, I have no clue how to hit these and seems to me with no layout and idea where cable hubs and all might be its atupid to rush in as players. My original idea get one or two into the base at the core areas where they can't risk firing and just unleash hell freeing the squad to hit the PA, seems to me the way we are going its going to be messy. And I do not want the PA formed up coming in after us.

Plus this is all very confusing for example if Haverson is not fire team leader I need to know since I was in charge of Alpha Squad, if I'm in charge he should not be giving me orders.

For example could we get into the fire control bunker and turn these weapons or some of them on the base, it would be a lot easier to take out other major weapons with similar weapons. I want a plan clear before I do anything in the game.

Re: OOC

Oddly I had felt we were stalling and wanted some new action to keep the game going forward.

As mentioned a few times fire teams are temporary. The new situation has different skill needs.

The sniper hunting team has Shadow (a sniper) and Echo (comms, squad leader).

The base stealth has Haverson looking around for you. As lookout he's saying its safe, as far as he can see, to move up to the base.

The reserve team has a heavy weapons in Taps and a medic in Sony. So who would make a call is more clear.

For the base team:
When it comes to hacking the computers Breaker would be the skill-leader. When it comes to planting demolitions Boomer would be in charge.

You might want to do one of those first then the other. Or you could attempt both at once. There is only Haverson on lookout so it would be harder to watch both. Doing both at the same time though means its done sooner and less likely to have the base waking up.

If Boomer wants to look for the Bunkers thats fine. The base team is its own little pocket. While you are doing whatever at the base others are sweeping for the Sniper(?) and another is ready to provide fire support.

FYI,

Big storms across North America may well have affected Breaker and Taps. Breaker dropped us a note in the absence thread. Taps is moved to the reserve team anyway.

The folks who are here go ahead with your things.

Re: OOC

I know that but I don't even have a schematic of the compound, and my stealth is not that good. Subtle attacks are not right now the best option. I still would have asked for an orbital cannon bombardment of the main base and not be dicking around, but Echo is CO orders are orders. ;)

Re: OOC

Okay posted figured out use brains over brawn in a remote base likely they missed something important in the layout she can boom boom for good effect. Its remote and a training base not expecting an attack all she needs is a panel not there, a unsecured relay or other point to take out and muck things up I hope.
