Re: OOC

I was also hoping to get The Boulder far enough along to get him to join in the Hell Week.

We are just about done his skills and I can slap some gear together for him.

I'll be adding him in under the assumption when Decker was picked up on the medical he stepped off the dropship as a replacement. Wouldn't really happen that way in real life but for the game this gets another player active rather than waiting weeks for the mission to finish.

He is a Close Combat specialist. He would be going in with the base team so can be covering Boomer.

Re: OOC

I thought you'd be farther with my absence... I'll likely be a little slow at it for a while yet, but it looks like most have slowed a little.

Re: OOC

Copying update from the Absence Topic:

I'm just getting back online now after having lost power for a couple of days, although suffering no other damage. So it will be awhile before I'm caught up with the various posts.

I can only imagine what it did to Brygun's area - which isn't used to Hurricanes (ok, technically an extra-tropical storm) at all.

This thing spared some completely, and beat the living crap out of others.

Re: OOC

Storm messed up a few of our players and the GM recently started a new job so posting rates certainly dropped. The fun thing is the GM is making money for new toyes in the future... but.. that job involves alot of driving 4-6 hours a day.

Did we mention there is major continous rain storms so I'm driving in the constant rain?

In a vehicle new to me?

Looking for places I've never been too?

Joy!

Re: OOC

Boulder's skills are done. When I get some time tomorrow I'll slap together a likely eqiupment load up for him. Due to the timing won't be doing the same week of gear talk we did when the main party was kitting up. Some changes or notes are okay.

He went close combat specialist. (you can see that in the people thread)

That includes a little explosives training. I'll be giving him some claymores charges. His +1 is enough to setup and take down his own. Wouldn't want to be trying to disarm other traps or landmines. Leave that to higher explosive skills like Boomer.

Re: OOC

The Boulder's gear is up in the Mission and Gear thread.

The Boulder is you want to make changes you can or ask and I (or someone) can help you.

Melee: Shockstick, for stunning on this training mission
Weapon: Morita mix of normal and AP 'training' rounds
Pistol: standard light pistol 'trainig rounds'
Special: 4 x Claymore 'training'

The rucksacks were left at Albert's fall-back camp.

If you need to know about claymores let us know, google etc. The concepts is a boom with a spray of buckshot in only one direction. The decription for the game is:

C-087-A Claymore Charge
Still named for its predecessor the claymore is an anti-personal charge. It is set up with the business end facing where the 60 degree arc of attack is planned to go. When it detonates there is some damage to whatever it is placed on. The main attack is a wave of fragments like a shotgun blast through the cone.  Detonation can be done by proximity sensor (scanning the attack arc at 5, 25 or 75ft ); by a radio detonator or by trip wire (included)
Creates 5 ft blast at the charge and fragments out to 150 ft in a 60 degree cone.

Re: OOC

Kept it simple took all the explosives off my PA and replaced it with the rucksack pod, figure 8 blocks of C-4 would do. If not let me know. :D

Re: OOC

Humour aside...

yes there will be some bonus points at the end of the mission. More for those who've been in longer than the newcomer as an ongoing reward.

I prefer to do skill bonuses between missions rather than during.

Re: OOC

Yes, you will soon get to blow things up and otherwise hurt the enemy. BTW no lethal hits your in PA and Raiders are not so do clear if you hit all out the man or woman would be KIA.

Re: OOC

ayup, as Boomer said.

A little bit back we had a player have to leave so his character, Decker, was med evaced out. Still alive and passes, so can rejoin later. The Boulder was "poof" left off by the dropship and with them now.

Specifically you are next to Boomer and Breaker in the main base.
