Re: OOC

When you make an action always include some sort of a die roll. This game system is always a 1d8 (one die eight). Add in what you figure is the right skill and the right attribute. When post list those the way the other players do. Separate roll for what might apply. Like Shadow's recent post.

That all keeps things flowing fast.

There is no separte dodge/evade skill. Its part of your fighting like gun combat or melee.

Re: OOC

The Boulder examples

Placing claymores...

explosives + Calculation if taking time to plot a nice blast
Explosives + agility if rushed

shockstick zapping...
usully melee + agi maybe also + str or + size

Don't worry about equipment modifier. Just mention it to remind me. generally the GM takes it all into account, like being in a power suit.

I made this system very simple and speedy to keep up a good game pace.

Re: OOC

Basic rule in PA and the enemy in this Raiders not in PA they have to hit us a lot harder than we have to hit them to take us out. ;)

Now the enemy PA squad is another matter ...

Use cover, good tactics and roll well you should do fine.

When you see bugs just fight them in hand-to-hand combat and you will do fine. :P

Re: OOC

Why not just keep this simple have the officers make the calls, there is no chain of command that is confusing me. In a regular squad there would be a Lt. (Echo), Sargeant (Sterling) maybe a Corporal and that is the chain of command. Which is why she wants a Corporal in the squad its that third person in comabt command just in case.

Re: OOC

In reply to Boomer (msg # 888):

Currently no one is a Sergeant nor Corporal. The idea is that the PA squad is a group of people of various specialities. When a speciality is needed they do their thing. When not in combat the technical specialty rotates.

For exampe...

Sony medic and Taps Heavy Weapons are the reserve team in the back. If someone gets a broken leg Sony would take a lead or go to do her thing. If the shooting starts Taps would lead the reserve team.

A Corporal may eventually be appointed but it doesn't exist in the squad at the moment.

Re: OOC

Well if you plan to hit that we should hit them from multiple sides, if we are going to use air power as Boomer offered as an idea to Echo she and Breaker can hit them from another angle. But I thought Boomer got those already?

Re: OOC

BTW... the mortars... I think you guys are talking about Claymores.

Mortars have a wide pipe tube that lombs a "bomb" like explosive. Fragmentation, explosion and various special bombs are possible

Claymore sits on the ground until detonated by command, remote, trip wire etc. They are an antipersonal weapon firing in one arc.

Re: OOC

Okay assume she demolished all artillery, AA and missle systems she could get to either at the source or in relay connections I did role well earlier on her engineering skill when placeing them, figuring they might have left gaps in the protection. Breaker boxes, relays and other points she could also mess with a 4 oz. C-4 charge could take out a relay hub from the inside if they left a pane unshielded by concrete for example or were lazy elsewhere.

With the buildings with armor piercing rounds get passed the materials?

Artillery cannon is out then. They are just finding that out as they get there.

On the AA the flak cluster had guys on it so you couldn't get close without being spotted. The rest of the AA is indeed out of action. Both at the weapons and the control lines.

Bunker also took damage to one of its vent. You just can't see the chaos that caused. :-)

Actually yes. Morita AP rounds will go through the stone buildings.

Soldiers are trained in basic penetration abilities and your power suits likely have a reference computer anyway.

Shots to penetrate cover are always tricky. For example might happen to be a plumbing pipe in the path your round goes.

The Quonset Huts are thin steel or the putty-steel on canvas. It holds in air, stops rain and so on. Its like sheet metal so normal rounds can penetrate.

The training computers take that into account in the high tech future we are in.

They aren't crazy enough to put fuel near the flak guns (or other AA weapons). On some days theys are firing live rounds.

Currently the flak guns are unmanned.

quote:
The AA flak cluster is still working. The two crew that was there is dead and those that tried to get to it were taken out.

The two that were there where among the early kills. Those trying to get to it where hit by the claymores and fire from everybody.

Re: OOC

For Shadow:

IF you meant gunners at the artillery camp, yes you can see them. The artillery guns are in the open with an incomplete ring sandbags for minimal cover. The gunners are very much exposed as they aren't at the sandbags but trying to get their gun into action.

There are troopers on the artillery camp wall. These have partial to very good cover.
