Re: OOC

In reply to GM Brygun (msg # 81):

I think it depends on the NPC's personna.

At the moment, our Blonde Intel Officer is kind of smarmy, low-key, semi-voyeuristic creepy. He's just always around, watching everything and far too aware of us and our unrevealed personal lives (my mother, Boomer's aunt). Giving him a name might humanize him; particularly if it's a "good" or "strong" name.

You would have to come up with a name that has a negative connotation. For instance, in Harry Potter the Slytherins are obviously wrong/bad/evil. Just by association of the root of the name to a perceived negative word: slither. Alternately you could give him a good name and then have him act exactly opposite to it.

On the other hand, if Blondie (sorry Debbie Harry!) or some other PsyCorp member is going to join our squad for the duration we definitely do need a Callsign and Name for them pretty much from the beginning.

Re: OOC

Skill improvement time.

aka xp in a no xp game. ^_^

Everyone gets 1 skill point. This can increase another skill and as we are still close to character creation you can use it to add a new skill to the character and just assume it was part of their background.

You can do the changes to your character sheet yourselves. Please PM me where you put it.

Re: OOC

I should have expected some of the questions: ^_^

Psychics selected for Special Service of Military Intelligence have a Psychic score of at least 1.0 and it is suspected most are much higher. The PCs who know have scored a 0.# and are below that. It is known that they are looking for Psychics and its a vague field. There are those who don't know they are Psychics.

Specialist training like Engineering & Medic is a set of courses after Basic Boot Camp. During basic there may be requests for certain branches and you will probably be tested willingly/unknowingly over your time there.  IC the MI has certain needs to fill. IC can play still affect things but as an OOC thing we are steering you those ways.

Re: OOC

I never expected to win getting a hit and taking the pain also show character, and anyway who needs close combat skills in a nuke fight you just need to press a button?

No she is NOT going to say that to Career Sargeant Zim!

(grab, break, crack - the enemy cannot press a buttom if you break the bones of his hand. medic.)

Re: OOC

Off to the car mechanic where there is no internet. Couple things the will need parts shipped in so I will expect to be off for several hours or longer. Its happened before that wrong parts arrived and we had to wait to cycle in the right ones.

Annoying thing about living in an apartment is we aren't allowed to do repairs in the underground (for good reasons). Do wish I had a garage where I could do alot of this work and leave the car secured inside if I have to step away for a bit.

It does however give me a chance to read up on what Reaper wanted going on for the next bits.

Re: OOC

Ok, that was quick. ;)

Am I currently unconscious and lying on the ground, oblivious to the Battle Royal taking place in and around me between Zim and Taps? Or was I rolled over and pushed aside to make way for a more capable combatant? All I know for sure is I got choked on the ground and was eventually released. Not my medical status thereafter.

Otherwise I might stick my head up at an inopportune time, get kicked in the head and go lights out again, or worse. O

n the other hand... in the process of getting up, Taps might push backward and force Zim to trip over me. Course, we would both end up on Zim's personal harass, abuse and destroy list thereafter - but the misery might be worth it for the first... 5 seconds.

Re: OOC

I'm going to assume General Fitness helps most rolls unless the GM says no but raw basic your in good shape is usually a generic plus to me.

Re: OOC

Just to clarify the course has you go into water then at the other end is this big wall. The wall cuts off the water area from left to right so you have to climb the wall.

Re: OOC

I don't get it I though it was ropes to go over the water obstacle and if dunked the wall had to be scaled taking longer? If you have to scale the wall why the ropes?

Re: OOC

Its a 30 ft tall wall of wood planks. Ropes hang down to give you something to hand onto.

I think we go the confusion figured out. Swinging or arcing on a rope I guess. Either way Boomer was the first of squad 2 up the wall.
