Re: OOC

BTW, Brygun, you changed your name from "GM Brygun" to "GO Brygun" in the switch in ownership of the campaign.

I'm only mentioning this because it appears that in the process you might have disrupted any established PM topics. They now require a recipient be selected. However, as I understand RPol's functionality that would create a new topic. Possibly complicating things.

I figured I should mention this publicly in case others encounter it and get confused.

Now, for a little light humor:

    "Go Brygun! Go Brygun!
    It's your re-Birthday!
    Go Brygun!"

Ok, I've posted the PM. I still had to choose GM Brygun but it didn't create any new topics.

Re: OOC

Helper task:

Id like to get some pics submitted to RPOL so we can use them as bio pics.

I've been trying to find a picture of the Warrior Bug on the dessert but haven't found one yet.

Other bugs would be handy but they have less common appearances for now.

Also looking for one for the Skinnies.

Rpol's policy on potrait submissions:

Attach your picture to an email message and send it to portraits@rpol.net and it will be added (if approved) during the monthly update cycle.  Submissions MUST include the user's RPoL account name with the submission.

Some email accounts, whose providers are known to allow spammers, are blocked from sending email to RPoL.  If your email cannot be sent, try sending from a different provider.

Please note that there is a limit of only one emailed portrait submission per person every update cycle.  Your submission should preferably only have one picture.  If your email includes two or three pictures we will choose the one we like best (though none may be suitable).  If you submit four pictures or more the submission will be rejected entirely for the update cycle.

Note that an update cycle is roughly once per month.  Each time the portraits are updated it is announced in the General RPoL forum, so the submission period is from one announcement to the next.

Re: OOC

Debating how much more boot camp to run vs getting you into your advanced training. Its actually one of those nagging feelings with one part saying given them time to build stories in boot vs getting you into the first power armour drop.

There are some personal plots started which is good to have. Some GM started and others by the PCs doing it. Both are good to see.

I'd like to hear how people feel about continuing for a short vs long time in Boot Camp.

Re: OOC

I'm happy either way why not do first half of boot with half the adjustments then advanced to graduation. Then we can roleplay out things like getting our specialty training, spending time with guests at the graduation day and likely a leave time for some sandbox fun. Nothing big I would think two weeks between boot and specialty school makes sense.

Pacing would be good I think.

Re: OOC

IRL, I'm not a military buff, nor a fan of strategy or tactical games, so trying to judge how much Boot Camp activity is enough is not possible for me. My answer would ultimately come down to a guess. Having said that, this is supposed to represent some of the most critical formative years of our adult lives so it doesn't seem unreasonable to spend some time in Boot.

The only thing that I can say for sure is that I am enjoying the game so far.

Re: OOC

I'm also checking that the players are having fun. If someone was bored of boot camp this is the time to bring it up.

Reg Center got a bit rushed as I wanted us to be about the Federal Service not the pre-service spring break. *_-

Oh Shadow, you can come from anywhere in the world but you would have gone through the Beounis Aeries Registration Center like the others did.

Re: OOC

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm kind of loosing track of the character names vs callsigns, specialty vs chore, etc. So I thought I would make the following modified Cast List and post it in case anyone else is getting stuck too.

I'm missing a few PC's first names, feel free to submit them.

BTW, I'm also submitting "Inferno" as Dante (the Lunch Cook's) callsign - I figured given her last name and being a cook, the inference of a bad cooking day is obvious. ;) Suggestions for some of the others? (I realize they might get killed off, but as current squad members they're being ignored by all of us - and they might be permanent members. Right now they're nothing but a name and chore.) The spelling of Kalua's/Kulua's name needs to be confirmed.

This list, probably as a separate table, can be expanded later on with the names and information of NPCs we encounter.

Re: OOC

In reply to Taps (msg # 152):

Not sure how the GM will feel about this, but if the content depends on specific timing, you might want to place a dummy message into the topic with an appropriate warning. That way you maintain proper placement / flow as much as possible. You can edit the dummy message and re-post the correct content once you get home.

Anything after that post, by other characters, might need editing as well.

Just noticed this in Setting info People:
quote:
Former squadmates
Boswell = Female, English = transferred to a different platoon

That message was posted Aug 21, edited Aug 24. Found the original post (Barracks Msg #10) which I missed in generating the chart. So that needs to be corrected. We're a squad of 10.

Rather not do that if its a matter of real life hours. The montage is confusing enough as it is. The inbetween posts may end up needing a mass of editing.

Putting in a dummy for a few minutes is fine. I do that as a GM when assembling a combat turn.

Mostly its settled to a timeframe of both Breaker and Taps being injured at the same time.
