Re: OOC Chat

Sorry, I meant to enable your character sheets, but forgot.  Sheets are ready to be used.

In reply to Tony (msg # 4):

Ok, glad I saw the message as I was starting to put the sheet into his description at the same time.

The three subturns is worth a shot to speed things up. Every one at 4 speed would hurt any type of speed characters.

Re: OOC Chat

It seems that the three subturn method is going to be tried, the only question now is, what is everyone's speed going to be?

Re: OOC Chat

The subturn method does preserve the Champions feel of high vs low speed characters.  One of the effects I am worried about is having characters get multiple actions in a row.  I guess we will try it and find out.

quote:
2- Determine which group goes in what order.
 (probably a random roll + dex, this is still to be decided)

So how should we determine which side goes first in any given subturn.  Some ideas are;
a- roll 3d6 + the highest dex on each side
b- roll 3d6 + the sum of all dexs on a side
c- roll 3d6 + the sum of all spds on a side
d- a simple 3d6, no modifiers
e- ?

Re: OOC Chat

In reply to Tony (msg # 7):

I would go with using the average speed/dex and bump up or down. Use an average of 5, then those with 6 would get +1 or -1 for those with a 4. Then those with dex of +21 get a +1 and under 18 get a -1. (18-21 would be 0 mod) Just a thought.

Re: OOC Chat

Well, at Speed 5, Flashpoint wouldn't be hurting from either method. I like the idea of 'highest' dex on each side rolling a Dex-check, although I'd expect someone with Fast-draw getting a bonus. And even if someone got multiple actions in a subturn, just have one at the beginning of the subturn, and one at the end. Spacing it out lets others play while preserving the benifits of a higher speed.

Re: OOC Chat

I plan on making MONO a speed 5. I also like the higher dex rolled, but what if both are high with the same Dex?

Re: OOC Chat

Howdy folks, so first we all need to pick unique voice colors.  When your character says something, please use it.

> I use the following conventions;
blue=npc
orange=ooc
Serif, Monotype, Cursive are used to indicate unusual accents or strange sounding voices.
Louder/yelling is bold
whispers are small

Usually I will use combat maps, anyone know of a program that does hex maps?

Re: OOC Chat

I thought for sure you would use yellow or red for Flashpoint, being all fire based and all.  But purple and green it is.

In reply to Tony (msg # 20):

I use blue for conversation,orange for OOC (Seems to be the default color), and [...]for combat info.  Sorry, can't help you with the maps. Closest that I have is an old AD&D program that has some mapping but nothing that would work for this game.

Re: OOC Chat

Hey, I can always add 'sticky' to my Immolation attack......we can ALL watch as the RED spreads from person to person.....

I like the setup so far.
Do the members of Roadkill have names like Squirrel,Rabbit,Raccoon,Armadillo,Skunk...you know, popular Road Kill trophies
(or menu items)?

Nah, that will be our "code names" for them, based on their tactics (or lack of).

Re: OOC Chat

Sorry it's taking so long.  I had problems in another game and got distracted.  I'm still working on finding a map program.  For right now I think I will keep a physical map off line and just describe it.

Thurs 8/30
I will be posting fri...

Re: OOC Chat

In reply to Tony (msg # 26):

Given that Labor day is here a long weekend is in order and do not expect you working on the game all weekend.  If I might suggest, take a look on line for the property appraiser for the county you want and take a look at their maps. You can then edit them and use it. (copy and paste into MS paint and add text, upload to the game map)
