Re: OOC Thread 3.

Lann, Dragon Warriors is NOT D&D.

If you cast overt spells, consort with fey or fairies, or otherwise 'Warlock' around, it may have a very negative Lann individually, the party as a whole, or the plans of Colm in the future.

We still do not know who was killed to get you your shiny silvered maille?  It is possible they were an powerful or influential person.  Their family/friends might want revenge?

You've just seen how Clan Hewell reacted to talk about winged demons.  How do you think they'd react if you were commanding one!

Please, don't use the ring!  Save it for life or death situations.

Oh ok;) I shall not over use it less GM may decide I am metagaming and do something nasty. Just thinking one use a day limit. Hmm I guess the person shouldn't be too powerful coz a mere dwarf could kill him.
I think the armour has been modified. I hope... haha wonder why GM didn't gimme a +3 chain lol

Re: OOC Thread 3.

If I recall the armor couldnmt be modified because messing with the inlay would have negated the magic. I think it was suggested you just wear a tabbard over it, but that you hold off on that till we hit Glissom.

I’m fine with you using the thing for more menial tasks etc etc, though definitly not while one of these nobles is traveling with us. He’d probably have us all declared witches and we’d have to kill him. Though considering we’re pretty sure he and his famly are evil that might not be to terrible. :D

What answers is random depending on where you are. How it acts is random depending on its kinds usual demeanour. What it can do is limited by what it says in the beastiary...or if I roll a local special then what my notes say. I have copious tables..

So anything is possible....not probable by any means but possible....

[5 blank lines suppressed]

...also if Colm knew about any of this he'd be having an aneurism about now... :D

Ok, I'm going to do some examples so it makes more sense since I seem to be causing confusion. Normally I do these as secret rolls but for this example I won't.

Lann uses ring in the middle of the deep forest, Siren Woods, in Glissom. So I use the Forest Table adjusted for Siren Woods.

14:51, Today: GM, on behalf of Toirneach Lann, rolled 1 using 1d100.  Summoning Ring.

I'm so glad this is an example.....I already know that 1 is Lord of the Beasts attended by a court of a dozen Beastmen.  If we were in the Mountains and Hills of Glissom this basically means an avatar of Aphails goddess has just shown up.....but in Siren Woods this means that Finn Bheara, the High King of the Aes SĂdhe shows up flanked by his court....how things go from there will be hilarious...also you will all likely die unless some exceptional rolls are made.  He is essentially magical Godzilla and will utterly ignore any attempt to control him....if he's amused he may help in his own way.

Lets try another....

Ok, Lann uses the ring in the centre of Glissom City. So I use the City table adjusted for Glissom City.

15:07, Today: GM, on behalf of Toirneach Lann, rolled 24 using 1d100.

Faerie options are pretty limited in a city and 24 gets you a Grey Gnome, grumpy...prone to fits of anger but not overly powerful. It will grudgingly do whats asked if its in its power. Decent spies, good area knowledge, good at sneaking and seeing things, can turn a road into a quagmire etc.

Kind of...except elves in Legend are more elf-aligned than anything else. But basically.

Re. specials...see the roll of 1 above.

Oh so summoning them don't mean I get to control them?
That lord of the beast is it the one in book 4 second scene where the characters kill him and will forever be attacked by animals? Lol

Btw, what's the necklace colm gave us long ago colm?
Aphail is Colm right? He just posted as Colm tdy. Maybe he not interested in helping evil man. Hmm I wonder what's in killman pouch...

In reply to Toirneach Lann (msg # 937):

Garambar is a Lord of Beasts but not the only one and not the most powerful one in Legend.

Summoning means you have a good chance that they will do what you want but they're not robots...and most of them don't like humans...if you outrank them your chances are better.

If they are a 13+ Rank Death Machine they have 0 reason to do what you want...hell they could just take the ring off you...just like you have a better chance of intimidating a 4 year old than you do Dwayne Johnson. :)

Re: OOC Thread 3.

Garambar is already powerful enough ;( we probably need many critical hits! Lol or a very lucky fireball
Too bad I don't have much indirect crap and our Mage is busy doing research lol
So in other words, summoning only summons but doesn't bind the summoned entity to my will... lol
Still I appreciate your super tables must be a very magical ring lol

I think I shall refrain from using it much until I reach level 8 seeing the volality of the ring's power.

Re: OOC Thread 3.

Hmmmm, I kinda want to meet this beast king now. See if I can trick him in to doing stuff to prove how powerful he is. (Also he’d probably have information on wether the children of the beastmen that the cernach young ones are going to have would be inherently evil or not, and might possibly like us for convincing the clan to try and let them live.)

But yeah, we’d probably all die. :P

I forget, did Lann fully explain to us in character how he got his new armor and what he means by “Fey Friends”? Or did we all just talk about it OOC? I don’t want to act pike Usopi knows what he’s talking about if he doesn’t.

On a side note only a level 6 cure disease fast by a sorcerer can cure disease. I wonder if Kores can do so?

As for cure disease, I’ll understand if the kid dies, but my hope is that killing the beast will do a vampire sort of thing and cure everyone that beast infected.
