OOC Thread 7

So.....If we're not pursuing the dirty folks are we ok to fast forward to Hallowhall?

Well Turren's vote would be to liquidate the knaves, who seem outside the law - he'd feel no dishonour in using gorilla tactics or scorched earth policy against thieves, ambush, stealth, 2am strike, the works. But he could easily be dissuaded by having the group's primary tasks pointed out as the true priority, if others want to forego the hunt and press forward. I'll wait till others have said their peace in game though. Either will be fun, I'm easy.

As a player I'd love the XP for bandit hunting, but I'm not risking the party for it if there's an option to walk away, particularly if the PCs are on a tight time budget.

Caith's not one for fighting fair, but to be fair, there aren't that many folks she could challenge to a fair duel, being a Sorcererss and all.

I'm just trying to figure out what kind of fey beastie to summon that Cene won't freak out at as a carrier pigeon.

Fine by me. Brannon sees bandit hunting as a side-track from the main mission, so absent any specific evidence of misdeeds from these men, or indications that those who have been working for Corbin see this as a duty, he would sooner press on for Glissom.

So, you saying Sir Grellen and Sir Robert are mercenaries from Albion who were working FOR the Duke?  By their clothes, they have living rough for several months, i.e. since King Corbin took over.  Now they are subsisting as robbers?

Darians been gone for almost two years, it's likely that mob are recent returnees from the crusades going off their convo with Deise.

Re: OOC Thread 7

Look on the bright side Colm, if Caith sends a messenger bird - A fey crow would be highly appropriate, with a King named Corbin - with a written report from the field, sending all the info from Deise and the others back to the castle, Cene will be in a better position to advise Corbin on what to do about it.

*Thinks about what the Black Boar might do to hunt down a pack of robbers in the woods...*

I don't fancy the robber's chances TBH. And there are local champions other than those at the castle to deal with them as well, like the chap up the road in the brown robes and helmet.

As to the robbers, they're ex-Crusaders by the sound of it, none too keen on tangling with witches and one of them is looking for an artifact spear, that may or may not have been in their family since ancient days. Could be mad, could be a holy madman, could be they genuinely have a quest and a legal point to quibble over.

Caith would cheerfully hunt down whichever one of them stabbed Mari in a heartbeat out of rage at the cruelty to the horse, but like Brannon says, it's a side quest, and the party are already on a mission to Glissom.

On the plus side, the party have stolen a stolen horse from robbers, saved the horse's life in the process, and a... well, definitely not your average horse. :)

In reply to Caith Cernach (msg # 10):

Those who have been to Hallowhall before might want to give Leofwyn, Deise and Uthen the run down IC.  They would have heard the name of the settlement before but I doubt any of them had time to visit.

I am re-reading the relevant bit early in the Ereworn and Consequences thread now, so no worries, just refreshing my memory as a player beforehand.
