OOC Thread No. 9

The majority plan of action works for me!

Usopi will go first down the stairs dressed in his robes and circlet.

Was it possible to like... drape a robe and circlet over Gat’s head? It’d suck if he’s exposed to these monster things because he’s not a bipedal humanoid.

Not a problem. He's dressed to the nines.

OOC they wouldn't be interested in him anyway, but theres no way for you lot to know that.

Awesome! (even if we knew that I love the idea of dressing a dog up in the ceremonial robes of an evil religious order. XD )

Phew - that seems to have worked! Looks like they can't get close to us even without sacrifices. Let's hope it holds!

To be fair, it's no stranger than dressing up a she-wolf as an abbess of evil. XD

I'm down 2HP, so Greater Healing is probably overkill. Mind you, Brannon only has 8HP at the best of times. He's pretty squishy.

Re: OOC Thread No. 9

If that's the case, then splitting the MP down finer to cast three LESSER HEALING instead seems wiser to me.

No worries, and I'll sort that out OOC:

1xLesser Heal for Brannon (1MP cost, 2HP restored)

1xLesser heal for Usopi plus 1xPowder Dose (1MP cost, 3HP restored)

If anyone else needs healing up, say so now, or Alphail's currently best candidate for the last healing magic until High Moon as far as Caith knows.

In reply to Osric Grim (msg # 13):

Deise was down one up, but has meditated and recover this (presuming this is ok).

Back to the game and tactics. I recall when many of us were in Ereworn, we were attacked by a magic user from a shifting black veil of darkness. I am wondering whether the shifting darkness in the hall beyond the giant throne is the same?

I am happy to lob in a flash pellet and then have a quick attack on anything that might be lurking in it and waiting for us?
What do folks think.

Happy 2021 btw to all of you.

If Deise hears or senses anything, he will firmly say NOW, then fling a pellet in the direction of the noise/movement.

Re: OOC Thread No. 9

Speaking as a player, if I were a powerful cultist of the dark*, I'd be looking to trick and trap any pursuers behind me. This situation looks like a trap to me.

So logically, the good news is that party has got the opposition worried enough to take evasive action. Got the rotters on the run now...

The bad news is figuring out what kind of trap it is before anyone sets it off.

Caith's brain is still loading up extra data processing capacity, please wait...

*Yes, whoever cast that veil of darkness on the hidden door was a powerful user of elemental magic.

What part is the trap - the side doors or the sealed door. Are you thinking that sealed door is a diversion to nudge folks toward the side doors?
Or is the sealed door the trap and the side door with hidden tunnel the way to go. All dust and no sign of prints near the sealed door. Reckon the cultist took one of the side doors.

I am inclined to agree with you on the sealed door being a trap, and the side tunnel being the way the likely foe went.

While Caith could think of ways to leave no footprints in dust, or even ways to leave a new concealing layer of dust over existing footprints, she can't argue with a still hermetically sealed door being an unlikely place to look for a fleeing cultist behind.

Otherwise she'd be asking Colm to take a hot blade to the wax right now.
