In reply to GM (msg # 970):

"I'm not convinced its him.  But maybe he can't see us!"

Kores tries a rude hand gesture closer to the mirror.  I suppose he's probably got the highest magic defence for special situations like these....  He's hoping for an intelligent response.

Hope he doesn't get sucked in.  We'll try smashing the mirror once everyone is far away and braced for impact.....  Unless anyone has any objections.  Preferably somewhere quiet like in the original cellar we started out in, in case it gets peoples attention.

*Thumbs up to the mirror*

"That's more like it.  Now I know its him!"

"Not the most conventional way.  But in this case, worth trying."

OOC: If everyone can brace for impact in the original cellar, Kores will initially try flinging it at a wall in the corridor, and if that doesn't work, Brenar can try his morning star....

As the others retreated to the cellar Kores lifted the mirror and threw it at the wall.

The obsidian shattered against the stone and all went dark for a moment, all light was swallowed up.

A wave of cold washed through Kores and those in the cellar....then it passed.  The light returned and Finan could be seen leaning against the wall he had been thrown into with a sour expression on his face.

Kores maintains his stern expression.  He asks everyone to back away and he tells Finan to come through.

Hisses: "Finan!  Come through here and tell us what you were up to!"

He's still not sure whether its safe to have this guy around, maybe he's drunk or developed epilepsy.

"Damned Selentine constructs, must've been an extra dimensional portal!  Next time Finan, watch which hole you jump into!"

Finan slowly adjust to his new environment, taking in the companions once again  There are some he does not recognise?  Perhaps he had forgotten them?  The was one he did recognise.

"Kores, you have surpassed yourself in your supernatural deduction..." spat Finan sarcastically.
"I was dragged into a space between worlds, between the worlds of the living and the dead.  Time did not exist as we know it, and to me a millenia had passed.  How long has it been since I was trapped?  I had hoped you would be long dead y now Kores, but instead I have you to thank for my release.  I will thank you by ignoring all the times I wanted to kil you..."

Finan bows in gratitiutde and walks forward as Kores bid.

OOC - Long time no see guys!!!

"Well, just remember to let us know before you take another dive!  We've been away for months just being in that underwurlde for a few hours.  We returned to Glissom and are currently in the process of catching rats for an old resident.  However I did not expect to find you here, of all places..."

Ok, just make sure Finan is happy to proceed, if he needs food, drink or moments alone we'll make do.  And will explain to him what he's missed.  We're going to explore this underground complex....

Re: (IC) Glissom City - Dockside

The Heartfather rests for a moment, checks his wounds, offers a short prayer to Brigandia.  He appears to be completely revitalised, in body, mind, and spirit! He then stares straight at Kores
"Who is Finan?  Oh yes, Finan McRoach..."  The Hearthfather drifts into a fond reminisce of the long past.

"My old mentor and household retainer.  That man always had time for me, and was a very patient tutor.  He is dead now of course, but when I had to disappear I felt it appropriete to take his name...

Appologise for the desception my friends, but I am not Finan McRoach"

The Hearthfather rises to his full height
"I am Colm Cernach, of Clan Cernach, Hearthfather of the Temple of Fire, servant of Brigandia, bearer of the sacred sword Claidheamh Soluis, the 'Sword of Light', and rightful member of the Glissom High Council.  My family has been murdered, imprisoned, and disinherited by order of the King, and I have sworn to bring justice to my House!
Colm draws Claidheamh Soluis so that all may see its magnificence.

As Colm speaks the blade is licked with flames!

In reply to Colm Cernach (msg # 984):

Kores looks darkly at Finan when he tells us of his new identity.  He then looks at disbelieve at Dann and the others.

"Ok...  As you wish....  ...Cernach."

"Our rodent catching adventure is turning out truly interesting.  Who'd have thought that a trip to catch rats would turn out ancient Selentine artifacts and inter dimensional gateways.  Looks like you're not going back though."

*Indicates broken obsidian fragments*

Kores grasps a small piece for further study, a tiny fragment.  Might be good for cutting something in an emergency.

Bring a new addition to the group, Brenar wasn't too sure what to make of it. They seemed to know him, yet clearly something was off too. He made a note to remain vigilant around this one.

Dann's expression becomes stern when hearing his Not-Finan new friend. There is obviously something he does not comprehend there, and he does not like it. He steps back and stays on his guard for a while.

The flames disappear, the sword is sheathed, and Colm bursts into hysterical laughter!

"Take heart friends!  I mean you no harm.  You should see your faces!  I am still the fellow who shed blood with you.
Kores, Rabbie, Dann, I remeber you *winks* These other fellows I'm not sure about.  Have we met?

OOC - Brenar and Grwn, have we met before?

"So Kores, tell me about this Ratcatching job!  They must be pretty big rats to warrant you lot!"

"Ah Brenar, you know of my family.  Is that good or bad for me I wonder? *winks again*  I'm sure you're aware of the reward that the Steward of Glissom has placed on my clan.  That is why I pretended to be someone else.  I would appreciate it if you all kept my secret in public.  By appreciate, I mean that I'll share any booty with you, and I won't kill you for betraying me." winks a third time.

Coming out of this nether space seems to have left Colm with a nervous wink?

"The same way beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the veracity of the tale is in the ear of the listener." He began. "I heard both good and bad things. I will let your action determine which ones I believe." He concluded in a matter o' fact tone, that left no doubt of the sincerity of the words He had spoken.

Still not knowing how he should react to the return of his companion (now is he?), Dann decides to set the question aside for now. "So, should we look for those so called rats? Or continue looting old selentine artifacts in these parts?" he asks.

Old Tom looks up from where he has been sitting, " So....no rats then?  Well, thats alright. You boys put me wall back and we'll call it a day yes?"
