Glissom: A Natural History.

Glissom City:

10,000 souls approx.

Divided into Harbourside ( South of the Castle) and Castle Side ( North of the Castle)

The Harbour lies to the South against the sea and the River Shadowspin, and there are North, East and West Gates leading to other settled parts of the Fief.

In reply to GM (msg # 1):

based on the short time Bael has been in the city, what has he noticed as far as lawmen or town guards go if any?  Does this seem like the place where people would bat an eyelid at street violence?

In Baels time he has noted that in Castleside in the more well-to-do areas most of the households employ one or two guards called 'housecarls' ( in emulation of the kings guardsmen). These men mainly just loll about the house gate and hassle anyone who looks poor or shifty who wanders past. Bael has so far escaped these attentions due to his noble looks and arms.

The castle itself is secured by hard men armed with ancestral axes who brook no cheek.

In Dockside...there are no guards to be seen but each merchant has his own roughmen and sailors tend to look after other sailors. Some of the shadier merchant organisations have their own enforcers and thugs.

Street violence will generally cause folks to leave the area at speed or stop and shout encouragement.  Eventually someone will come along to stop it; one way or another.

People starting trouble in the region of the Temple have been rumoured to explode in flames.....the Temple area is remarkably quiet.
