She bared her teeth back at him but Dann got the feeling she was just mirroring him.

The girl had already spit the bone out but Kores mind was elsewhere, back in the larder.

The woman was speaking, he tried to focus on what she said.

"...he's not a tall boy. Red hair like his Da. You've seen him?"

Yamousou stepped forward slowly and sheathed his sword, trying his best to look non-threatening (and probably failing miserably). He carefully drew his dagger and stepped behind the woman, before cutting her bonds. He then immediately retreated, but kept his dagger in hand, just in case this was a trick of some kind.

As he stepped back he glanced at the bone the girl was gnawing on, trying to ascertain what animal it was from, or if it was, as he half-suspected, a human bone.

The woman started as Yamousou came forward and she stared at him as he cut her bonds, but he could see in her eyes that far stranger and much worse things had crossed her vision than a simple dark skinned man.

"Yamasou, you sure that dark warrior was dead?  Finan was still alive when you last saw him right?"

OCC - well, assuming she ain't too badly injured, lets head out the way we came.  Maybe search around, see if anything is shiny here.

Dann continues to smile and says somewhat gently: "We are leaving this place. Will you come with us?"

" Kieren?", the woman said delicately as she pulled the filthy blanket about herself rather ineffectually. " My husband Kieren was killed, back at the holding. They brought his body with them, I didn't know why until, I saw......". She broke down weeping.

" My son, Niall.....they took him away......yesterday, I think. I can't tell how much time has passed own here."

The girl nodded slightly.

Kores left Dann, Bael and Yamousou with the two prisoners while he searched through the bandits belongings.

Kores pulls a face when he discovers the cess pit... not interested in anything shiny there...

picks up a deer stomach, passes that to yamasou, nudges him and whispers...

"run on...  get rid of that human carcass we saw earlier..."

Time to go...  Kores will detain the woman whilst wondering whether he should tell her what happened to her kid...

OCC - Who's the most wounded?  Starting from the most wounded up, kores will do two lesser healings.....  Hey, can I get experience points for the healing?  Can't let everyone else suck up all the experience whilst I send em' back for more...

Without looking across, Yamousou replied dryly. "I stuck my sword through his throat while he lay on the floor. If he's still alive after that then we're in serious trouble."

He took the deer stomach that seemed to serve as a vessel for some kind of fluid, then nodded at Kores's request. He retreated to where the body had been hanging and inspected it. From what he could see it was indeed the boy, or at least what was left of him. He called back to the others, and when one of them appeared his confirmed with a whisper that the boy was dead. He would leave it to the others to break the news. He then went to join Finan and updated his flame-haired companion on what they had found. Then, remembering the deer stomach, he pulled it out and unstoppered it. He raised it to his nose and sniffed it, trying to ascertain what the liquid might be. He suspected it would be human blood...

Hmmm, probably mead.

He put the bottle in his pack for now.

Finan will maintain vigil at his dead patrons resting place. He kept watch to ensure no one approached the party from the rear, from the waterfall or other tunnel.

"Excuse me... I need a moment alone....  It is preferable if you don't look..."

He moved away to a dark corner of the cavern for a minute or so.

Kores comes back out glowing with a smile, colour in his cheeks and a spaced out expression....

Bael went over to the lady and put his hand on her shoulder.  "I fear that your husband and son have been murdered by these fiends.  We can help you back to the city or your farm if you would like but we should depart from here now in case there are more of these villains."

The woman nodded sadly, " Come Henny."

She wrapped the blanket about herself and snatched down another to attempt to cover herself more as she struggled to her feet.

The little girl stood unsteadily and reached her hand out to Dann.

Dann, Bael and even Kores helped the woman and her child down from the clifftop.

Ahead was the larder....

Finan and Yamousou met up at the entrance to the cave and Yamousou updated the red haired man on what they had found.

Finan sighs in disappointment at the news, then shows Yamousou what Guillaume was carrying.

Guilaumes Kit - 15 florins, Lantern, Flint and tinder, 2 Flasks of oil, Waterskin, 1 weeks rations, Paper, quills and ink, Bedroll, Gambeson, Shortsword, Dagger, Leathers, Boots, Plaid, Iron Key, small icon of a young woman etched on Mother of Pearl.

"I travel light, and don't want to carry all this gear.  Let's top up our lanterns with the oil first.
I'll take the key and icon for now.  These'll have to be returned to the Housekeeper.  What do you want?"

Yamousou shrugged. He wasn't sure of the burial customs of Guillaume's people. Instead he liberated the body of the coin purse, waterskin and shortsword, leaving the rest for now.

"What about the body? Do we leave it here or bring it with us?"

Kores led the way out with the woman and child being herded out by Bael and Dann.

He remembered to point out the trip wire to the two females at the last minute.

As they passed through the larder Bael tripped, accidentally pushing the woman forward, she stumbled forward without looking up. Her daughter, walking with Dann, looked up and saw the body hanging from the ceiling but a finger on Danns lips kept her quiet for the mean time.

Kores led the way out into Finan and Yamousous company...

"We should take it back to the city.  They will be suspicious of his fate otherwise and may blame us for his murder.

Going yet again through these gloomy caverns, this time holding the hand of a probably innocent child, Dann cannot help to feel disgusted. He had seen his share of violence and horror as a borderer, but this is certainly not something he is looking after. Now the only thing he wants is to leave the place. "Gentlemen, whatever our business here, let's do it quickly and get the hell out of here. There will be plenty of time to discuss the details outside." he says, with a somewhat pressing voice.

Kores was holding the lantern...  He will use his body to shield the light from the larder, in case any of them gets hungry....

After viewing Guillaumes body Kores suddenly loses any sense of responsibility...

"I am not familiar with True Faith rites.  He's a bit too much to carry.  Does anybody wish to say anything?  Good bye perhaps?"

Kores doesn't feel any need to be emotionally involved with those who have passed on...  Even if one day he has no use for his own body, maybe feeding it to something might be useful....  to someone....  .... or young surgeons perhaps.....

The Mungodan was no muscled barbarian, but he rearranged his gear and hefted the fallen Chaubrettan over his shoulder without too much effort. He wouldn't be able to help much if they were ambushed, but should be able to carry the body over even terrain without too much trouble, albeit at a slow pace.

To the group in general he said, "there is some armour and weapons outside of the cave. Nothing special from what I could see, but some may fetch a good price."

Finan showed Guillaume's kit to everyone.
Lantern, Flint and tinder, Bedroll, Gambeson, Dagger,
1 Flasks of oil, 1 weeks rations, Paper, quills and ink, Leathers, Boots, Plaid.

"Refill your lanterns with this oil everyone.  Kores, would you like the writing tools? [returns kerchief].


Finan sees the naked woman, trying to cover herself with a filthy blanket.  He removes as much clothing from Guillaume while still maintaining the corpses dignity, and gives the clothes and rations to the woman.
"I am a Druid of Glissom.  Fear not for we will see you safe home."

Kores does have a use for writing equipment....  Also he needs to wipe up after himself after a 'healing' session.  The occult, left handed ways can be quite disturbing to those who observe such practices....
